The exact frequency shift of an AFM non-uniform probe with an elastically restrained root, subjected to van der Waals force, is derived. The original distributed system is considered and then its exact fundamental solutions and the general frequency equation are derived. Results are compared with those by the force gradient method and the perturbation method. The effects of several parameters on the sensitivity of measurement are investigated. Results show that the interpretation of frequency shift by using the force gradient method is unsatisfactory. The smaller the amplitude of oscillation and the tip–surface distance are, the larger the frequency shift. The design of a taper beam is recommended for increasing the sensitivity of measurement. 相似文献

Laser diodes have the features of a single-mode operation and a frequency tunability. Holographic interferometry is described for investigating the vibrating amplitude and phase with a frequency-modulated laser diode. Sinusoidal wavelength change by varying laser injection current produces the sinusoidal phase modulation of relative phase difference between the reference and vibrating object paths. Holograms are made by time-average exposure of three-type recording modes with a laser diode. The phase of vibrating object is extracted from the measurements of Bessel-type fringe irradiances in three kinds of time-average holographic reconstruction. The implementation of an Intermediate Frequency (IF) filter in Digital Audio-VIsual Council (DAVIC) compliant modems is a particularly complex task. In previous works, we compared the performance of different designs (analog and digital) for the radio-frequency stage in a modem application. These designs have been evaluated for a particular case defined in the DAVIC recommendation. The design limits that were pointed out are mainly due, in the digital approach, to the high frequencies at which the IF stage must operate, and to the variation of the sampling frequency.
In this paper, we propose a digital implementation of the IF filter based on the decimation technique. The evaluation of the performance has been performed using the PTOLEMY software from the Berkeley University. 相似文献

Experimental and numerical methods to identify the linear viscoelastic properties of flax fibre reinforced polymer (FFRP) composite are presented in this study. The method relies on the evolution of storage modulus and loss factor as observed through the frequency response. Free-free symmetrically guided beams were excited in the dynamic range of 10 Hz to 4 kHz with a swept sine excitation focused around their first modes. A fractional derivative Zener model has been identified to predict the complex moduli. A modified ply constitutive law has been then implemented in a classical laminates theory calculation (CLT) routine. Overall, the Zener model fitted the experimental results well. The storage modulus was not frequency dependant, while the loss factor increased with frequency and reached a maximum value for a fibre orientation of 70°. The damping of FFRP was, respectively, 5 and 2 times higher than for equivalent carbon and glass fibres reinforced epoxy composites. 相似文献

Since the introduction of erbium-doped fiber amplifier (EDFA) in optical fiber communication systems at 1550 nm, the fiber loss is no longer considered as the limiting factor but the fiber dispersion and chirp parameters play an important role in degrading the performance of optical communication systems. Further, the invention of external modulators of Mach-Zehnder (MS) type minimizes the transmission power penalty due to fiber chromatic dispersion as these modulators are consider almost chirp-free modulators. Also, better suppression of nonlinear distortions consists of harmonic distortions (HDs) and intermodulation distortions (IMDs) were achieved by using Mach-Zehnder external modulator [8]. In this work, a simulation comparison of external- and direct-modulation schemes using different optical amplifiers; SOA and EDFA in single-tone RoF system is reported. A single-tone channel of 20 GHz is transmitted over single-mode fiber (SMF) either externally modulated by using single-electrode (SEMZM) - and dual-electrode (DEMZM) - Mach-Zehnder modulator or by direct-modulation scheme. Better improvements in the measurement of received RF power of a 20 km linked single-tone RoF system are achieved by using SEMZM with EDFA, which means maximum optical link is achieved between Central Office (CO) and Base Station (BS). We experimentally studied the frequency dependent complex permittivity ε and permeability μ of composite composed of carbonyl iron powder (CIP) and epoxy resin in the frequency range 1-18 GHz. We found that the intrinsic ε and μ of CIP extracted from the measured ε and μ of composites follow the classical Maxwell equations and the Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert (LLG) equation, respectively. The dependences of ε and μ of composites on the volume fraction of CIP (vfCIP) were investigated using the two-exponent phenomenological percolation equation (TEPPE). We found that the TEPPE can fit the experimental results very well. Comparing the results of percolation parameters derived by experimental data at different frequencies, we show that the TEPPE is frequency independent for the composites at microwave frequencies. The results also show that the ε and μ spectrums of composites with definite vfCIP can be correctly calculated by combining the TEPPE with the theoretical models of intrinsic ε and μ. 相似文献

We study the cross-correlations of buy and sell volumes on the Korean stock market in high frequency. We observe that the pulling effects of volumes are as small as that of returns. The properties of the correlations of buy and sell volumes differ. They are explained by the degree of synchronization of stock volumes. Further, the pulling effects on the minimal spanning tree are studied. In minimal spanning trees with directed links, the large pulling effects are clustered at the center, not uniformly distributed. The Epps effect of buy and sell volumes are observed. The reversal of the cross-correlations of buy and sell volumes is also detected. 相似文献

In recent years, Radon-type transforms that integrate functions over various sets of ellipses/ellipsoids have been considered in synthetic aperture radar, ultrasound reflection tomography, and radio tomography. In this paper, we consider the transform that integrates a given function in Rn over a set of solid ellipses (when n=2) or solid ellipsoids of rotation (when n?3) with a fixed eccentricity and foci restricted to a hyperplane. This work presents a new technique to securely transmit and retrieve a message signal via chaotic systems. The main contribution of this paper is two-fold: the way that the message signal is encrypted in the frequency of a sinusoidal term and a novel frequency estimator for retrieving the message. In our system, a two-valued message signal modulates the frequency of the Duffing oscillator sinusoidal term. Then, two chaotic signals generated by the oscillator are encrypted with a Delta modulator and sent through a noisy channel. A Lyapunov-based observer is used in the receiver side to retrieve the sinusoidal term that contains the message and a novel frequency estimator is then used to retrieve the confidential message signal. The system was implemented in Matlab/Simulink in order to analyze its performance. 相似文献
