High-pressure far-infrared measurements at SINBAD

First results from the SINBAD beam line at DAΦNE are reported. The SR brilliance, as measured in the far infrared at the sample position, has been compared with the one of the mercury lamp. For λ=100 μm and through an aperture of 1 mm, the gain in intensity is larger than 20. The high brilliance of the synchrotron radiation in the far-infrared is fully exploited by high-pressure experiments. Preliminary experiments with a diamond-anvil cell in the 10 GPa range are reported.

A combinatorial approach to cartograms

A homeomorphism from ² to itself distorts metric quantities, such as distance and area. We describe an algorithm that constructs homeomorphisms with prescribed area distortion. Such homeomorphisms can be used to generate cartograms, which are geographic maps purposely distorted so their area distributions reflects a variable different from area, as for example population density. The algorithm generates the homeomorphism through a sequence of local piecewise linear homeomorphic changes. Sample results produced by the preliminary implementation of the method are included.

对红外保健用品保健作用机理进行了初步探讨，并在此基础上提出了红外保健用品应具有的主要性能指标及其测试方法，建议尽快制订相应的技术标准。     

长链单不饱和脂肪醇乙酸酯的红外和拉曼光谱研究

本文研究了鳞翅目昆虫性外激素——长链单不饱和脂肪醇乙酸脂系列化合物的红外和拉曼光谱。对主要谱带进行了归属。探讨了十一种系列化合物在室温液态和低温固态的光谱差异,得到了某些特征带与链结构的关系。结合其它物理性质,它们可用于估计同系物的双键位置和链长。     

光CVD SiO2钝化膜在红外探测器中的应用

本文评述了光 CVD SiO_2钝化膜的原理和方法,介绍了在50～300℃温度下,在 Si、InSb 和 HgCdTe 晶片上光 CVD SiO_2钝化膜。讨论了膜的淀积条件和性质以及光 CVDSiO_2钝化膜在 InSb、HgCdTc 红外探测器中的应用。     

Propagation and focal shift of J0-correlated Schell-model beams

Based on the propagation law of partially coherent beams, the propagation equations of J₀-correlated Schell-model (JSM) beams through a paraxial optical ABCD system are derived and expressed in closed-form. The free-space propagation and focusing of JSM beams are regarded two special cases of our result. The focusing properties, in particular, the focal shift of JSM beams are studied, and illustrative numerical results are given. It is found that the focal shift of JSM beams, which is determined by an algebraic equation of 3rd order, increases with decreasing Fresnel number N and increasing parameter σ.     

Synthesis and characterization of a new monophosphate [2,5-(CH3)2C6H3NH3]H2PO4

Chemical preparation, calorimetric studies, crystal structure and spectroscopic investigations are given for a new noncentrosymmetric organic cation monophosphate [2,5-(CH₃)₂C₆H₃NH₃]H₂PO₄. This compound is orthorhombic P2₁2₁2₁ with the following unit-cell parameters: a=5.872(4), b=20.984(3), c=8.465(1) Å, Z=4, V=1043.0(5) Å³ and D_x=1.396 g cm⁻³. Crystal structure has been solved and refined to R=0.048 using 2526 independent reflections. Structure can be described as an inorganic layer parallel to (a,b) planes between which organic groups [2,5-(CH₃)₂C₆H₃NH₃]⁺ are located. Multiple hydrogen bonds connecting the different entities of compound thrust upon three-dimensional network a noncentrosymmetric configuration.
