How the NPX data format handles EEG data acquired simultaneously with fMRI

There is a growing interest in combining EEG and (f)MRI data as they provide complementary information: EEG is characterized by a high temporal resolution but poor spatial one, while fMRI is characterized by a high spatial resolution but low temporal one. However, while a standard file format for storing EEG data is available since over a decade, it does not fulfill the needs of modern protocols and devices such as those involved in simultaneous EEG and fMRI recordings. The main reasons are the limited bit resolution, some difficulties encountered in handling and storing acquisition events or trace markers for off-line analyses and the impossibility to add some protocol-specific information that is not considered in the actual data formats. This, among others, hinders the release of free analysis software and makes it difficult to share data across different laboratories as every research unit develops its own tools according to its needs, stores data in proprietary formats and a lot of time is spent building software applications for converting data from one format to another. The NPX (NeuroPhysiological signals in eXtensible Markup Language) data format was defined to overcome these and other limitations, and here its main characteristics are reported as well as how some typical problems occurring in simultaneous EEG-fMRI recordings are also treated. Many tools based on the NPX technology can be freely downloaded, including a tool for removing artifacts occurring during simultaneous EEG-fMRI recordings.     

Outlook邮件删除恢复技术的分析与实现

在电子邮件取证领域中,Outlook邮件的分析和提取一直是业界关注的重点,目前已有很多成熟的技术。由于PST文件自身结构的复杂,对于邮件的恢复很少有人涉及。本文主要针对PST文件中彻底删除的邮件、已损坏的PST文件及未分配簇中的PST文件片段,提出一种扫描过滤的恢复方法,并描述如何实际应用这种恢复技术。     

Error counter-based negative acknowledgement mode in CCSDS file delivery protocol

Deep space communication has its own features such as long propagation delays,heavy noise,asymmetric link rates,and intermittent connectivity in space,therefore TCP/IP protocol cannot perform as well as it does in terrestrial communications.Accordingly,the Consultative Committee for Space Data Systems (CCSDS) developed CCSDS File Delivery Protocol (CFDP),which sets standards of efficient file delivery service capable of transferring files to and from mass memory located in the space segment.In CFDP,four optional acknowledge modes are supported to make the communication more reliable.In this paper,we gave a general introduction of typical communication process in CFDP and analysis of its four Negative Acknowledgement (NAK) modes on the respect of file delivery delay and times of retransmission.We found out that despite the shortest file delivery delay,immediate NAK mode suffers from the problem that frequent retransmission may probably lead to network congestion.Thus,we proposed a new mode,the error counter-based NAK mode.By simulation of the case focused on the link between a deep space probe on Mars and a terrestrial station on Earth,we concluded that error counter-based NAK mode has successfully reduced the retransmission times at negligible cost of certain amount of file delivery delay.

File Format Design for Interactive Music Service

This letter describes a file format designed for interactive music service where users are able to recompose music based on their own preferences. The proposed design utilizes the flexible features of the ISO base media file format (ISO/IEC 14496‐12, ISO‐BMFF). The techniques offered in the proposed file format enable compact storage and efficient preset management, allowing users to recompose music with ease and convenience. Additionally, an implementation scheme for an interactive music player is shown along with its results.

当前信息泄密的主要途径为文件通过Internet和移动存储设备被拷走。目前以切断泄密途径为核心的防信息泄密解决方案不能很好地解决上述问题。论文所深入分析的文件等级保护系统,可以彻底防止通过任何已知或未知的泄密途径造成泄密,且用户无需改变任何日常使用习惯,是一种创新的主动防信息泄密解决方案。     

基于IP-SAN的文件管理系统设计

IP-SAN为用户提供了一个更廉价的，有良好性能的存储网络。在此提出了一个基于IP-SAN的文件管理系统及其访问机制的设计方案，能支持各种文件存储方式，方案已经在工程项目中得到了实现和验证，具有良好的应用前景。
