In this paper we discuss the conditions to obtain the enhancement of second harmonic generation in a two-dimensional circular
photonic crystal AlGaAs cavity. The photonic crystal circular cavity offers the possibility of having high-Q resonance modes
with respect to those obtained with other types of photonic crystal lattices. The crystallographic cut of the AlGaAs provides
a strong nonlinear coupling between a transverse-magnetic (TM) polarized resonant mode at the fundamental wavelength and a
transverse-electric (TE) polarized resonant mode at second harmonic wavelength. The double resonance condition leads to a
strong improvement of the second harmonic generation process. A preliminary linear analysis has been performed by using the
finite-difference time-domain method, which includes the dispersive response of the material, modeled using the well-known

In this paper, shift operator finite-difference time-domain (SO-FDTD) method is applied for the calculation of the dispersive
medium. The high efficiency and accuracy of this method is verified by calculating the reflection of the plane electromagnetic
wave impinging on a non-magnetized plasma slab with different electron density distributions. The results show that the average
electron density only determines overall trends of the reflection, and different distributions affect the oscillating process
of the reflection. If the average electron density maintains the same, the distribution of electron density with homogenous
or inhomogeneous alternation will sharply take effects on the reflection. And magnitude of alternation of electron density
affects the incident frequency directly when the reflection tends to uniform. 相似文献

In a collisional plasma, the collision frequency between electrons and neutrals may be equal to or greater than incident electromagnetic
wave frequency. The complex permittivity can not represent the dielectric property of the plasma perfectly used in the finite
difference in time domain (FDTD). Drude model is adopted to characterize a collisional plasma. Using a commercial FDTD package,
XFDTD 6.0, the electromagnetic scattering of plasma sphere is calculated. By comparison with Mie method, Drude mode is proven

Unconditionally stable complex envelope (CE) perfectly matched layer (PML) absorbing boundary conditions (ABCs) are presented
for truncating the scalar wave-equation finite difference time domain (WE-FDTD) grids. The formulations are based on incorporating
the alternating direction implicit (ADI) scheme into the CE FDTD implementations of the scalar wave-equation derived in the
PML region at the domain boundaries. Numerical example carried out in two dimensional domain shows that the proposed formulations
are more accurate than the classical ADI scalar wave equation PML formulations when it is used for modelling band limited

is employed in the alternating direction implicit FDTD (ADI-FDTD) scheme to obtain update equations for the field components
