We prove generalizations to chain groups, of Minty's Arc Colouring Lemma and its extension, the well-known Farkas Lemma. In these the orientation of the edges is replaced by an arbitrary chain.A function on a chain groupN isrepresentable if there exists a chainR such that (X)=R·X for allXN. Anorientation is a chain with values ±1. Summary We start with a measurem on a measurable space (,A), decomposable with respect to an Archimedeant-conorm on a real interval [0,M], which generalizes an additive measure. Using the integral introduced by the second author, a Radon-Nikodym type theorem, needed in what follows, is given.The integral naturally leads to a -decomposable measurem on the space of all measurable functions from to [0, 1]. The main result of the present paper is the converse of this, namely that, under natural conditions, any -decomposable measurem on can be represented as an integral of a certain Markov-kernelK. Summary We prove the following two non-existence theorems for symmetric balanced ternary designs. If 1 = 1 and 0 (mod 4) then eitherV = + 1 or 42 – + 1 is a square and (42 – + 1) divides 2 – 1. Tetrahedron shape measures are used for evaluating the quality of tetrahedra in finite element meshes. Three shape measures, theminimum solid angle min theradius ratio , and themean ratio , are discussed in this paper. A new formula for the computation of a solid angle of tetrahedron is derived. For different shape measures andv (with values 1), we establish a relationship between andv of the form wherec 0,c 1,e 0, ande 1 are positive constants. This means that if one measure approaches zero for a poorly-shaped tetrahedron, so does the other. Combined with the property that each measure attains a maximum value only for the regular tetrahedron, this means that the shape measures are equivalent.This work was partially supported by a grant from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada.  相似文献

We give a lower bound for the number of vertices of a generald-dimensional polytope with a given numberm ofi-faces for eachi = 0,..., d/2 – 1.
