Monotonicity properties of ‐functions

We present some monotonicity results for a class of Dirichlet series generalizing previously known results. The fact that is in that class presents a first example of an arithmetic function for which the associated Dirichlet series is completely monotonic, but not logarithmically completely monotonic. Lastly, we use similar techniques to prove another formulation of the Riemann hypothesis for the L‐function associated to the Ramanujan‐tau function.     

Sorption and Diffusion of p-Xylene and o-Xylene in Aluminophosphate Molecular Sieve AlPO4-11

This paper presents experimental results for equilibrium and diffusion of C₈ aromatics in laboratory synthesised crystals of AlPO₄-11. The samples were prepared by the hydrothermal method, starting from pseudobohemite (CONDEA), 85% phosphoric acid, water and di-isopropilamine as organic template. Adsorption and diffusion data were obtained mainly by gravimetry at temperatures between 60–100°C. Saturation capacities were found in the range of 4 wt%. Equilibrium constants were estimated using virial plots yielding heats of adsorption between 10–12 Kcal/mol at low coverage. Intracrystalline diffusivities at higher temperatures (150–180°C) were also measured, using the Zero-Length-Column (ZLC) method. Diffusivities from both methods (gravimetric and ZLC) agreed reasonably well and followed a typical Arrhenius behaviour, with low activation energy (ca. 7 Kcal/mol).

Nonvanishing of Koecher–Maass series attached to Siegel cusp forms

We prove a nonvanishing result for Koecher–Maass series attached to Siegel cusp forms of weight k and degree n   in certain strips on the complex plane. When n=2$n=2$, we prove such a result for forms orthogonal to the space of the Saito–Kurokawa lifts ‘up to finitely many exceptions’, in bounded regions.     

Cubic surfaces violating the Hasse principle are Zariski dense in the moduli scheme

We construct new examples of cubic surfaces, for which the Hasse principle fails. Thereby we show that, over every number field, the counterexamples to the Hasse principle are Zariski dense in the moduli scheme of non-singular cubic surfaces.     

Unique addition modules

LetV be a module over a ring R. We define V to be a unique addition module (UAM) if it is not possible to change the addition of V without changing the action of R on V. If R is a domain such that 1 is not the only unit in R and V is a torsion-free i2-module, then we show that V is a UAM if and only if V has rank 1 (or if V={0}). We also classify finitely generated unique addition modules over commutative Artinian rings.     

Uniform hypergraphs containing no grids

A hypergraph is called an r×r$r\times r$grid   if it is isomorphic to a pattern of r$r$ horizontal and r$r$ vertical lines, i.e., a family of sets {_A1,…,_Ar,_B1,…,_Br}$\{A_1,\dots ,A_r,B_1,\dots ,B_r\}$ such that _Ai∩_Aj=_Bi∩_Bj=0?$A_i\cap A_j=B_i\cap B_j=0?$ for 1≤i<j≤r$1\le i<j\le r$ and |_Ai∩_Bj|=1$|A_i\cap B_j|=1$ for 1≤i,j≤r$1\le i,j\le r$. Three sets _C1,_C2,_C3$C_1,C_2,C_3$ form a triangle   if they pairwise intersect in three distinct singletons, |_C1∩_C2|=|_C2∩_C3|=|_C3∩_C1|=1$|C_1\cap C_2|=|C_2\cap C_3|=|C_3\cap C_1|=1$, _C1∩_C2≠_C1∩_C3$C_1\cap C_2\ne C_1\cap C_3$. A hypergraph is linear  , if |E∩F|≤1$|E\cap F|\le 1$ holds for every pair of edges E≠F$E\ne F$.     

Direct Electrochemistry and Bioelectrocatalysis of Microperoxidase‐11 Immobilized on Chitosan‐Graphene Nanocomposite

A bioelectrochemical platform has been constructed for the direct electron transfer and biosensing purposes of microperoxidase‐11 (MP‐11) immobilized on the chitosan dispersed multilayer graphene nanocomposite. The immobilized MP‐11 at the modified gold electrode displays a well‐defined and quasireversible redox peaks, with a formal potential of ?0.38 V/SCE in a buffer solution (pH 7.0). MP‐11 absorbed on the electrode surface exhibits high electrocatalytic activity toward the reduction of both oxygen and hydrogen peroxide and also shows good analytical performance for the amperometric detection of H₂O₂ with a linear range from 2.5 to 135 μM. These results indicate the graphene modified electrode might be used as a third generation biosensor for H₂O₂ detection.
