The problem of reconstructing the characteristic polynomial of a graph of order at least 3 from the collection of characteristic polynomials of its vertex-deleted subgraphs was posed by Cvetkovi? in 1973 as a spectral counter part to the well-known Ulam's reconstruction conjecture. Over the last 50 years, this problem has received notable attention, many positive results have been obtained, but in the general case the problem is still unresolved. In particular, no counter example is found in literature. This article provides a geometric bridge between two entirely different character formulas for reductive Lie groups and answers the question posed by Schmid (in: Deformation Theory and Symplectic Geometry, Mathematical Physics Studies, Vol. 20, Kluwer Academic Publishers, Dordrecht, 1997, pp. 259-270).A corresponding problem in the compact group setting was solved by Berline et al. (Heat Kernels and Dirac Operators, Springer, Berlin, 1992) by an application of the theory of equivariant forms and particularly the fixed point integral localization formula. This article (besides its representation-theoretical significance) provides a whole family of examples where it is possible to localize integrals to fixed points with respect to an action of a noncompact group. Considering the peak-to-peak value of the axial electric field (Vpp), how to design such antenna’s characteristic impedance (Z
c) has not been involved in previous research. The relationship between Vpp and antenna aperture as well as characteristic impedance is numerical analyzed. The simulation and experimental results show
that the optimal aperture is existed to maximize Vpp when the antenna’s length is fixed at the axis. More over, Vpp of the antenna with optimal aperture reaches the maximum value when the characteristic impedance is 280 ohm. 相似文献

In view of the trend towards higher power densities in ever shrinking geometries, understanding heat spreading fundamentals is gaining importance. In this paper heat spreading in thin longitudinal geometries is considered. This geometry is of practical interest in one-dimensional Cartesian geometries. A characteristic length is derived and it is shown that this has physical significance for the distance that heat spreads, and for the total amount of heat cooled away. Furthermore, it is investigated when “thin” is a viable assumption. The use of the characteristic length is illustrated for the case of a line source cooling to a plate and for the case of the fins of a plate heatsink. The results are compared to numerical simulations. The work is an extension of the authors' earlier work on heat spreading in infinite longitudinal geometries and heat spreading in infinite and finite circular geometries. 相似文献
