The problematic of wavefront sensing in Multiconjugate Adaptive Optics (MCAO) is addressed in this article. We first focus on the sky coverage estimation which drives, in particular, the choice between natural and laser guide stars and therefore has a major impact on wavefront sensor design. Then a comparison between star oriented and layer oriented concepts is proposed. Analytical developments and optimization of the concepts are derived in the simplest MCAO case: the ground layer AO system. From this study, advantages and drawbacks of each concept are highlighted. The current paper deals with spatial spreading and front propagating dynamics for spatially discrete KPP (Kolmogorov, Petrovsky and Paskunov) models in time recurrent environments, which include time periodic and almost periodic environments as special cases. The notions of spreading speed interval, generalized propagating speed interval, and traveling wave solutions are first introduced, which are proper modifications of those introduced for spatially continuous KPP models in time almost periodic environments. Among others, it is then shown that the spreading speed interval in a given direction is the minimal generalized propagating speed interval in that direction. Some important upper and lower bounds for the spreading and generalized propagating speed intervals are provided. When the environment is unique ergodic and the so called linear determinacy condition is satisfied, it is shown that the spreading speed interval in any direction is a singleton (called the spreading speed), which equals the classical spreading speed if the environment is actually periodic. Moreover, in such a case, a variational principle for the spreading speed is established and it is shown that there is a front of speed c in a given direction if and only if c is greater than or equal to the spreading speed in that direction.   相似文献

Sessile drop experiments of pure liquid Ni on the basal surface of pure sapphire were conducted under controlled atmosphere and temperature. This system has been traditionally considered as non-reactive, based on thermodynamic assessments. However, the results of this study demonstrate that a capillary driven interaction exists between the pure liquid Ni and the sapphire, which causes the dissolution of the sapphire substrate mainly at the triple junction. Oxygen and Al resulting from the dissolution process diffuse into Ni and segregate at its interfaces with the atmosphere and the sapphire (probably as Al x O y clusters), which reduces the interface energy. It is considered that this reduction is beneficial for the adhesion of both liquid and solid Ni on sapphire. The amount of Al introduced into the drop, and hence the segregation of Al that affects the interface energy (and adhesion), are related to the size of the sessile drop.  相似文献

The influence of capillary flow on the alignment of the nematic liquid crystal 5CB on fatty acid Langmuir-Blodgett monolayers was studied by optical second-harmonic generation (SHG). The surface dipole sensitivity of the technique allows probing the orientation of the first liquid crystal monolayer in the presence of the liquid crystal bulk. It was found that capillary flow causes the first monolayer of liquid crystal molecules in contact with the fatty acid monolayer to be oriented in the flow direction with a large pretilt (78 degrees), resulting in a quasi-planar alignment with splay-bend deformation of the nematic director in the bulk. The large pretilt angle also suggests that the Langmuir-Blodgett film itself is affected by the flow. The quasi-planar flow-induced alignment was found to be metastable. Once the flow ceases, circular domains of homeotropic orientation nucleate in the sample and expand until the whole sample becomes homeotropic. This relaxation process from flow-induced quasi-planar to surface-induced homeotropic alignment was also monitored by SHG. It was found that in the homeotropic state the first nematic layer presents a pretilt of 38 degrees almost isotropically distributed in the plane of the cell, with a slight preference for the direction of the previous flow. The aim of this paper is to give a simple proof of the classical Liu estimate on the decay of positive waves in a solution of a n×n system of conservation laws. In the first part, we transcribe the wave partition technique introduced in Comm. Math. Phys. 57 (1977), 135–148 (by means of the Glimm scheme) to the case of approximate solutions constructed by the wave front tracking scheme. Then, we use a decoupling argument on the characteristic speeds to establish the desired estimate.  相似文献

In this paper, we develop the mass and energy jump conditions for a vapor–liquid boundary within a porous medium. The analysis is restricted to a single fluid component and leads to the appropriate jump conditions for an evaporation front. The condition of local thermal equilibrium is assumed to exist in the homogeneous liquid and vapor regions, but not in the boundary region where rapid changes in the saturation occur.  相似文献
