Diffraction-free vectorial elliptic hollow beams (vEHBs) are generated by an optical system composed of a short elliptic hollow fiber (EHF) and an axicon. Each beam has a closed elliptic annular intensity profile and space-varying polarization states in its diffraction-free distance of more than 1 m. The generated beams have a counter-clockwise or clockwise periodically-rotated inhomogeneous polarization. And the spin angular momentum (SAM) of the vEHBs is 1ħ or -1ħ which is consistent with the type of dual-mode in the EHF and the periodic polarization rotations of the vEHBs. The vEHBs have potential applications in optically trapping and micromanipulating the micro- or nano-particles, quantum information transmission, and Bose-Einstein condensates, etc. 相似文献

We have investigated the polarization state of a gated phase conjugate beam using a methyl-orange doped poly-vinyl alcohol (MO/PVA) film in 16 different combinations of linear and circular polarization states of a probe beam and pump beams. The experimental results agree with the theoretical prediction based on the Jones matrix method. Of the third-order nonlinear susceptibility tensors Xijkl of the MO/PVA film, the X1221 at the 647 nm wavelength in degenerate four-wave mixing under exposure of a gating 515 nm light takes a very small value compared with X1111 and X1122. On the other hand, in the configuration of a probe beam and pump beams having linearly crossed polarizations and without gating light, the MO/PVA film generates a strong linearly polarized PC beam, so that X1221 takes a large value at 515 nm. 相似文献

We consider a certain class of vectorial evolution equations, which are linear in the (max,+) semi-field. They can be used
to model several Types of discrete event systems, in particular queueing networks where we assume that the arrival process
of customers (tokens, jobs, etc.) is Poisson. Under natural Cramér Type conditions on certain variables, we show that the
expected waiting time which the nth customer has to spend in a given subarea of such a system can be expanded analytically in an infinite power series with
respect to the arrival intensity λ. Furthermore, we state an algorithm for computing all coefficients of this series expansion
and derive an explicit finite representation formula for the remainder term. We also give an explicit finite expansion for
expected stationary waiting times in (max,+)-linear systems with deterministic queueing services.

We investigate the conditions that produce a phase transition from an ordered to a disordered state in a family of models of two-dimensional elements with a ferromagnetic-like interaction. This family is defined to contain under the same framework, among others, the XY-model and the Self-Driven Particles Model introduced by Vicsek et al. Each model is distinguished only by the rules that determine the set of elements with which each element interacts. We propose a new member of the family: the vectorial network model, in which a given fraction of the elements interact through direct random connections. This model is analogous to an XY-system on a network, and as such can be of interest for a wide range of problems. It captures the main aspects of the interaction dynamics that produce the phase transition in other models of the family. The network approach allows us to show analytically the existence of a phase transition in this vectorial network model, and to compute its relevant parameters for the case in which all elements are randomly connected. Finally we study numerically the conditions required for a phase transition to exist for different members of the family. Our results show that a qualitatively equivalent phase transition appears whenever even a small amount of long-range interactions are present (or built over time), regardless of other equilibrium or non-equilibrium properties of the system. 相似文献
