Grain boundaries play a key role in determining several key properties of polycrystalline laser ceramics. Heat transfer measurements
at low temperature constitute a good tool to probe grain boundaries. We review the results of heat transfer measurements in
polycrystalline Y3Al5O12 garnets as well as Y2O3 and Lu2O3 sesquioxide materials obtained by self-energy-driven sintering of nano-particles. The average phonon mean free path in Y3Al5O12 was found to be significantly larger than the average grain size and to scale with temperature as T
−2 at low temperature. Existing models describing the interaction between phonons and grain boundaries are reviewed. Correct
temperature dependence of the mean free path and order of magnitude of scattering rates were found by assuming the existence
of a grain boundary layer having acoustic properties different from those of the bulk. A different temperature dependence
of phonon mean free path was found for the sesquioxides and was ascribed to the stronger elastic anisotropy of these materials.
The thermal resistance associated to the grain boundaries of laser ceramics was found to be lower than in other dense polycrystalline

A novel method, pulsed laser arc deposition combining the advantages
of pulsed laser deposition and cathode vacuum arc techniques, was
used to deposit the diamond-like carbon (DLC) nanofilms with
different thicknesses. Spectroscopic ellipsometer, Auger electron
spectroscopy, x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy,
atomic force microscopy, scanning electron microscopy and
multi-functional friction and wear tester were employed to
investigate the physical and tribological properties of the deposited
films. The results show that the deposited films are amorphous and
the sp$^{2}$, sp$^{3}$ and C--O bonds at the top surface of the films
are identified. The Raman peak intensity and surface roughness
increase with increasing film thickness. Friction coefficients are
about 0.1, 0.15, 0.18, when the film thicknesses are in the range of
17--21~nm, 30--57~nm, 67--123~nm, respectively. This is attributed to
the united effects of substrate and surface roughness. The wear
mechanism of DLC films is mainly abrasive wear when film thickness
is in the range of 17--41~nm, while it transforms to abrasive
and adhesive wear, when the film thickness lies between 72 and 123~nm. 相似文献

Laser flash photolysis‐time‐resolved infrared spectroscopy (LFP‐TRIR) was performed on an acetonitrile or dichloromethane solution of triarylphosphines, Ar3P, in air. A transient spectrum consisting of several absorption bands appeared in the region of 1050–1300 cm?1 on the TRIR on a microsecond timescale, which disappeared on a millisecond timescale. To identify the observed transient intermediate, the IR spectra of possible intermediates of the photoreaction were simulated by theoretical calculations based on density functional theory (DFT). The IR spectrum simulated for the phosphine peroxidic radical cation, Ar3P+OO?, well predicted the observed IR spectrum, showing that Ar3P+OO? is formed as a transient intermediate upon the LFP of Ar3P in air. In this paper, we derive the time dependent solution of the effective master equation for the reduced density matrix operator of a two level atom driven by a coherent laser field and damped by a finite bandwidth squeezed vacuum. The results show that the initial state setting, detuning parameter and Rabi frequency play important roles in the evolution of the system dynamics and geometric phase. 熔石英亚表面划痕对入射激光的近场调制是导致光学元件低阈值损伤的主要因素之一. 用三维时域有限差分方法研究了连续横向划痕的近场分布, 对比了尖锐截面与光滑截面场调制的差异, 着重探讨了光场调制与划痕宽深比R的关系. 研究表明: 酸蚀后的光滑截面有助于减弱近场调制, 这类划痕的R>10.0时调制较弱且相互接近, R<5.0时调制显著增强. 当R取1---3时, 亚表面的调制达最大值, 最大电场幅值为入射波幅值的4.3倍. 当R取1.0---3.5时, 缺陷附近有80%以上取样点的最大电场幅值超过入射波幅值的2倍. 随着深度的增大, 强场区具有明显的"趋肤效应": 位于划痕正下方的强场区首先往左右两侧移动, 然后移向抛物口界面以及水平界面, 同时衍生出的多条增强线诱导整个亚表面层的光场增强. 相似文献

研究了在引入非相干抽运的情况下,循环跃迁的Δ型共振三能级系统中产生的无反转激光.利用主方程的方法, 导出了缀饰态中强相干场极限下布居数项和相干项的稳态近似解析解以及产生无反转激光所需要满足的条件;并利用数值模拟的方法讨论了布居数分布、 系统增益对探测场和相干场拉比频率的依赖性以及随时间的演化规律. 结果表明:无论各个参量取何值,共振Δ型三能级系统总是处于无粒子数反转的状态; 只要探测场或相干场之中有一个为强场,便可产生无反转激光; 当其中任意一个场远强于另一个场时,系统的无反转增益将不再依赖于任何一个场的拉比频率. 相似文献
