A method for finding well-dispersed subsets of non-dominated vectors for multiple objective mixed integer linear programs

We present an algorithm for generating a subset of non-dominated vectors of multiple objective mixed integer linear programming. Starting from an initial non-dominated vector, the procedure finds at each iteration a new one that maximizes the infinity-norm distance from the set dominated by the previously found solutions. When all variables are integer, it can generate the whole set of non-dominated vectors.

Pickup lens inspection on the 5th order aberration using shearing interference by grating with curve fitting algorithm

An optical system based on shearing interference using diffraction grating was applied, to carry out the aberration inspection process of the pickup lens of a digital versatile disc (DVD) at high speed. An algorithm was devised that processes points allocated on certain lines on a fringe and fits relations between the distance from basis point to the measurement points, and phase data of the fringe at these points to an equation of higher degree as curve fitting. Aberration was numerically estimated as the size of a certain coefficient. Simulation showed that this algorithm could detect all 5th order aberrations independently. An inspection system developed based on this optical system and algorithm detected aberration as accurately as a conventional interferometer that has been used as the standard, attaining an inspection time of 1/10-1/20. In comparison with the spot method, this system has 5th order aberration detecting ability and 1/3 the inspection time.     

A Flash-Lamp-Pumped Nd:YAG Laser with Dual-Telescopic Optics Configuration

A flash-lamp-pumped Nd:YAG laser that contains two laser rods and dual-telescopic elements is investigated theoretically and experimentally. The two intracavity telescopes of the resonator are appropriately chosen and adjusted to achieve a large-volume TEM₀₀ mode inside the laser rods, and to minimize the variational effects of the thermal lens in the rods. The drift of the optimal operating point of the resonator caused by variation in the pump energy is compensated by adjusting defocusing of the two telescopes over a broad pump energy range. It is experimentally shown that our resonator geometry with appropriate parameters obtained the output energy of 560 mJ with 100 #x03BC;s duration and slope efficiency of 3.5#x0025;, at a pump energy of 16J, even though the misalignment tilting angle of the end mirror reached #x00B1;5mrad. The bi-focusing effect caused by the thermally-induced stress birefringence was compensated by a 90#x00B0; quartz rotator. Output energy was increased by 18#x0025; at the pump energy of 16J. The misalignment tilting angle of the end mirror with intracavity telescope was 4 times larger than that without intracavity telescope.

Chromatic properties of SiO₂-BaO-TiO₂-K₂O series radial gradient-index material in the range of visible wavelengths are presented and the possibility of apochromatic microscope objectives is considered.     

A time-dependent Green''s function approach to study the transient phenomena in metamaterial lens focusing

We applied a time-dependent Green's function approach to study the transient behaviors in metamaterial lens focusing. An adaptive-grid method is developed to deal with the singularities encountered in the numerical integrations and a benchmark result is presented to demonstrate the validity of our theory. We then implement the method to study several typical focusing processes with metamaterial-based lenses.

提出将空间域的透镜列阵法和时间域的光谱色散平滑法结合起来实现靶面的均匀辐照. 消衍射型透镜列阵能获得边缘陡峭且顶部较平坦的准近场焦斑，光谱色散平滑则能有效地抹平焦斑内部由多光束干涉引起的细密条纹. 数值结果显示，通过该方案能获得均匀性较好的焦斑. 进一步分析了光谱色散平滑单元中位相调制和光栅的参数对辐照均匀性的影响，发现参数的选取要在焦斑均匀性和能量利用率之间取得合理平衡，以在整体上获得最佳的均匀辐照效果. 关键词： 光谱色散平滑 透镜列阵 衍射 多光束干涉     

A multiplicative version of Promethee II applied to multiobjective optimization problems

The method Promethee II has produced attractive results in the choice of the most satisfactory optimal solution of convex multiobjective problems. However, according to the current literature, it may not work properly with nonconvex problems. A modified version of this method, called multiplicative Promethee, is proposed in this paper. Both versions are applied to some analytical problems, previously optimized by an evolutionary algorithm. The multiplicative Promethee got much better results than the original Promethee II, being capable of solving convex and nonconvex problems, with continuous and discontinuous Pareto fronts.
