BaWO4-II has been synthesized at 5 GPa and 610°C. Its high pressure behavior was studied by in situ synchrotron X-ray diffraction measurements at room temperature up to 17 GPa. BaWO4-II retains its monoclinic structure. Bulk and axial moduli determined by fitting a third-order Birch–Murnaghan equation of state to lattice parameters are: K 0=86.2±1.9 GPa, K 0(a)=56.0±0.9 GPa, K 0(b)=85.3±2.4 GPa, and K 0(c)=146.1±3.2 GPa with a fixed K′=4. Analysis of axial compressible modulus shows that the a-axis is 2.61 times more compressible than the c-axis and 1.71 times more compressible than the b-axis. The beta angle decreases smoothly between room pressure and 17 GPa from 93.78° to 90.90°. 相似文献

Mapping of residual stresses at the mesoscale is increasingly practical thanks to technological developments in electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) and X-ray microdiffraction using high brilliance synchrotron sources. An analysis is presented of a Cu single crystal deformed in compression to about 10% macroscopic strain. Local orientation measurements were made on sectioned and polished specimens using EBSD and X-ray microdiffraction. In broad strokes, the results are similar to each other with orientations being observed that are on the order of 5° misoriented from that of the original crystallite. At the fine scale it is apparent that the X-ray technique can distinguish features in the structure that are much finer in detail than those observed using EBSD even though the spatial resolution of EBSD is superior to that of X-ray diffraction by approximately two orders of magnitude. The results are explained by the sensitivity of the EBSD technique to the specimen surface condition. Dislocation dynamics simulations show that there is a relaxation of the dislocation structure near the free surface of the specimen that extends approximately 650 Å into the specimen. The high spatial resolution of the EBSD technique is detrimental in this respect as the information volume extends only 200 Å or so into the specimen. The X-rays probe a volume on the order of 2 µm in diameter, thus measuring the structure that is relatively unaffected by the near-surface relaxation. 相似文献

在北京同步辐射装置(BSRF)1W1B光束线和XAFS实验站上国内首次建立了硬X射线波段的磁圆二色实验(XMCD)方法. 以单晶金刚石作为相位延迟片, 在透射劳埃(Laue)模式下, 利用衍射双折射效应, 将入射的单色线偏振光转变为相应的左旋和右旋圆偏振光, 测量磁化样品对左旋和右旋圆偏振光吸收的差异, 获得了XMCD信号. 本实验使用透射方法测量了Pt-Fe合金Pt L2,3边的XMCD, 获得了XMCD信号. XMCD实验方法的建立, 为研究磁性材料尤其是磁性薄膜材料的电子结构和磁结构提供了实验基础. 相似文献

Anomalous behavior and phase transformation of α-GaOOH nanocrystals under static compression 下载免费PDF全文
The structural compression mechanism and compressibility of gallium oxyhydroxide, α-GaOOH, are investigated by in situ synchrotron radiation x-ray diffraction at pressures up to 31.0 GPa by using the diamond anvil cell technique. Theα-GaOOH sustains its orthorhombic structure when the pressure is lower than 23.8 GPa. The compression is anisotropic under hydrostatic conditions, with the a-axis being most compressible. The compression proceeds mainly by shrinkage of the void channels formed by the coordination GaO_3(OH)_3 octahedra of the crystal structure. Anomaly is found in the compression behavior to occur at 14.6GPa, which is concomitant with the equatorial distortion of the GaO_3(OH)_3 octahedra. A kink occurs at 14.6 GPa in the plot of finite strain f versus normalized stress F, indicating the change in the bulk compression behavior. The fittings of a second order Birch–Murnaghan equation of state to the P–V data in different pressure ranges result in the bulk moduli B_0= 199(1) GPa for P 14.6 GPa and B_0= 167(2) GPa for P 14.6 GPa. As the pressure is increased to about 25.8 GPa, a first-order phase transformation takes place, which is evidenced by the abrupt decrease in the unit cell volume and b and c lattice parameters. 相似文献
