Assessment of regularized delta functions and feedback forcing schemes for an immersed boundary method

We present an improved immersed boundary method for simulating incompressible viscous flow around an arbitrarily moving body on a fixed computational grid. To achieve a large Courant–Friedrichs–Lewy number and to transfer quantities between Eulerian and Lagrangian domains effectively, we combined the feedback forcing scheme of the virtual boundary method with Peskin's regularized delta function approach. Stability analysis of the proposed method was carried out for various types of regularized delta functions. The stability regime of the 4‐point regularized delta function was much wider than that of the 2‐point delta function. An optimum regime of the feedback forcing is suggested on the basis of the analysis of stability limits and feedback forcing gains. The proposed method was implemented in a finite‐difference and fractional‐step context. The proposed method was tested on several flow problems, including the flow past a stationary cylinder, inline oscillation of a cylinder in a quiescent fluid, and transverse oscillation of a circular cylinder in a free‐stream. PERMANENCE OF GENERAL NONAUTONOMOUS SINGLE-SPECIES KOLMOGOROV TYPE SYSTEM WITH DELAY AND FEEDBACK CONTROLS

In this paper, we consider the general nonautonomous single-species Kolmogorov type system with delay and feedback controls. Sufficient conditions for the permanence of species are established. Our results generalize some known results.

考虑带有Bernoulli反馈的多级适应性休假的Geo/G/1离散时间排队系统.通过引入服务员忙期和使用一种简洁的分解方法,讨论了队长的瞬时分布,得到了在任意时刻n队长为j的概率关于时刻n的z-变换的递推式,及队长平稳分布的递推式,且证明了稳态队长的随机分解性质.最后,给出了在特殊情形下相应的一些结果和数值计算实例.     

Controlling Chaotic Behavior in a Bose-Einstein Condensate with Linear Feedback

The spatial structure of a Bose-Einstein condensate （BEC） loaded into an optical lattice potential is investigated and the spatially chaotic distributions of the condensates are revealed. A method of chaos control with linear feedback is presented in this paper. By using the method, we propose a scheme of controlling chaotic behavior in a BEC with atomic mirrors. The results of the computer simulation show that controlling the chaos into the stable states could be realized by adjusting the coefficient of feedback only if the maximum Lyapunov exponent of the system is negative.     

一类切换线性系统的动态输出反馈H_∞控制:LMIs方法

研究一类由任意有限多个线性子系统组成的切换系统的动态输出反馈H∞控制问题.利用共同Lyapunov函数方法和凸组合技术,给出由矩阵不等式表示的控制器存在的充分条件,并设计了相应的子控制器和切换规则.采用消元法,将该矩阵不等式转化为一组线性矩阵不等式(LMIs).最后给出一个数值仿真实例证明结论的有效性.     

Power efficiency of a semiconductor laser with an external cavity

Optical feedback modifies the power vs. current diagram of a laser diode as well as its spectrum. Though optimization of the spectral characteristics is usually the main goal in the design of an external cavity source, power efficiency is also important, especially with relatively high power devices, where temperature variations due to dissipation can have an impact on the wavelength stability and on the laser lifetime. A useful parameter to describe the total power efficiency of the stabilized laser, relative to that of the solitary laser, is proposed in this paper. The dependence of this parameter on the characteristics of the active device, and of the external cavity, is investigated.     

A theoretical study of some problems on low-noise pyroelectric detector-amplifier systems

The configurations of the coupling network, which can effectively aecrease the effect of the noise sources within the amplifier on the equivalent input noise of the whole pyroelectric detector-amplifier system, are studied. The influences of feedback upon the noise properties of the basic amplifiers are analyzed. The procedures of designing low-noise pyroelectric detector-amplifier systems are followed.
