In this paper, we present an image processing algorithm to automatically and more precisely detect the boundary between the main skin layers: stratum corneum, epidermis, and dermis. Several different functions are adopted as the probability density functions of the gray levels to fit the normalized histogram of an OCT image and histogram matching is used to enhance the OCT image automatically. Feedback is a significant strategy for the control of quantum system. Information acquisition is the greatest difficulty in
quantum feedback applications. After discussing several basic methods for information acquisition, we review three kinds of
quantum feedback control strategies: quantum feedback control with measurement, coherent quantum feedback, and quantum feedback
control based on cloning and recognition. The first feedback strategy can effectively acquire information, but it destroys
the coherence in feedback loop. On the contrary, coherent quantum feedback does not destroy the coherence, but the capability
of information acquisition is limited. However, the third feedback scheme gives a compromise between information acquisition

In this paper, a study of in-house built optical coherence tomography (OCT) system with a wavelength of 840 nm for imaging of dental caries, progress in demineralisation and cavity restoration is presented. The caries when imaged with the 840 nm OCT system showed minute demineralisation in the order of 5 μm. The OCT system was also proposed to study the growth of lesion and this was demonstrated by artificially inducing caries with a demineralisation solution of pH 4.8. The progress of carious lesion to a depth of about 50–60 μm after 60 hours of demineralisation was clearly observed with the 840 nm OCT system. The tooth samples were subjected to accelerated demineralisation condition at pH of approximately 2.3 to study the adverse effects and the onset of cavity formation was clearly observed. The restoration of cavity was also studied by employing different restorative materials (filled and unfilled). In the case of restoration without filler material (unfilled), the restoration boundaries were clearly observed. Overall, results were comparable with that of the widely used 1310 nm OCT system. In the case of restoration with filler material, the 1310 nm OCT imaging displayed better imaging capacity due to lower scattering than 840 nm imaging. 相似文献

The low-amplitude spatial solitons in biased photovoltaic photorefractive crystals are investigated theoretically. The analytical solutions for both the bright and the dark low-amplitude screening-photovoltaic spatial solitons in photorefractive crystals are obtained. The expressions for the width of these solitons are given. The dynamical evolution and stability of
bright dissipative holographic solitons in biased photorefractive materials
in which the self-trapping beam obtains a gain from the pump beam via two-wave
mixing has been investigated numerically. Results show that these solitons are stable relative to small
perturbations. Adjusting some system parameters, such as the bias field and
the angle between beams, can easily control the generation of such solitons.

This paper theoretically studies the effects of the vacuum-induced coherence
on one- and two-photon absorption in a four-level atomic medium.
It finds that the one- and two-photon absorption and amplification
properties are quite sensitive to the vacuum-induced coherence. It
is also shown that the one- and two-photon absorption spectra can
be dramatically affected by modulating the relative phase of the
applied fields. With the proper choice of the relative phase, the
amplification without inversion for the probe field can be
