The removal of graffiti or over-painting requires special attention in order to not induce the surface destruction but to also address all of the important eco-compatibility concerns. Because of the necessity to avoid the use of volatile and toxic petroleum-based solvents that are common in cleaning formulations, much attention has recently been paid to the design of a variety of sustainable formulations that are based on biodegradable raw materials. In the present contribution we propose a new approach to graffiti cleaning formulations that are composed of newly synthesized green solvents such as esterified plant oils, i.e., rapeseed oil (RO), sunflower oil (SO), or used cooking oil (UCO), ethyl lactate (EL), and alkylpolyglucosides (APGs) as surfactants. Oil PEG-8 ester solvents were synthesized through the direct esterification/transesterification of these oils using monobutyltin(IV) tris(2-ethylhexanoate) and titanium(IV) butoxide catalysts under mild process conditions. The most efficient formulations, determined by optimization through the response surface methodology (RSM) was more effective in comparison to the reference solvents such as the so-called Nitro solvent (denoting a mixture of toluene and acetone) and petroleum ether. Additionally, the optimal product was found to be effective in removing graffiti from glass, metal, or sandstone surfaces under open-field conditions in the city of Wrocław. AbstractThis work examines the development and characterization of tripropylene glycol di-acrylate/liquid crystal E7 (TPGDA/LC E7) PDLCs composite materials (polymer-dispersed-liquid-crystals). These systems were produced by UV irradiation photopolymerization (PIPS) of a mixture of the monomer tripropylene glycol di-acrylate (TPGDA) and the liquid crystal E7 (LC E7, a mixture of three cyano-biphenyl and one cyano-terphenyl LCs), in the presence of 2?wt% (of the acrylate/E7 mixture) of a photoinitiator. Electro-optical, thermal and optical characterization was used to understand the effect of the LC concentration on the electro-optical and thermo-physical properties of these materials. Polarizing optical microscopy (POM) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) studies were performed to observe the system morphology and to determine the transition temperatures of these materials, both as a function of their composition. The findings showed a slight variation of the nematic-isotropic transition temperature, TNI, of the LC E7 and of the glass transition temperature, Tg, of the TPGDA polymeric matrix as a function of the mass percentage of the LC E7. As the enantiomers of 1-phenylethanol are valuable intermediates in several industries, the lipase catalyzed kinetic resolution of (R,S) -1-phenylethanol is a relevant research topic. In this study, the goal was to determine the optimum reaction parameters to produce enantiomerically pure 1-phenylethanol by lipase (Novozyme 435) catalyzed kinetic resolution using response surface methodology (RSM). Reactions were performed with 40–400 mM (R,S)-1-phenylethanol, 120–1200 mM vinyl acetate and 2–22 mg/mL biocatalyst concentrations (BC L ), at 20–60 °C and with a stirring rate of 50–400 rpm for 5–120 min. The samples were analyzed using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with a Chiralcel OB column. Optimum reaction parameters to reach 100% enantiomeric excess for the substrate ( ee s ) were determined as follows: substrate concentration (C s ): 240 mM, BC L : 11 mg/mL, at 42 °C with a reaction time of 75 min. Model validation was performed using these conditions and ee s was calculated as 100%, which indicates the predicted model was efficient and accurate. When compared to the literature, it was observed that the reaction time decreased significantly. This is an important result considering the industrial scale perspective. 相似文献

In implantable materials, surface topography and chemistry are the most important in the effective osseointegration and interaction with drug molecules. Therefore, structural and surface modifications of nanostructured titanium dioxide (TiO2) layers are reported in the present work. In particular, the modification of annealed TiO2 samples with —OH groups and silane derivatives, confirmed by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, is shown. Moreover, the ibuprofen release process was studied regarding the desorption-desorption-diffusion (DDD) kinetic model. The results proved that the most significant impact on the release profile is annealing, and further surface modifications did not change its kinetics. Additionally, the cell adhesion and proliferation were examined based on the MTS test and immunofluorescent staining. The obtained data showed that the proposed changes in the surface chemistry enhance the samples’ hydrophilicity. Moreover, improvements in the adhesion and proliferation of the MG-63 cells were observed. 相似文献

The tenacity of the present study was to develop a material using an economical chemical route, having balance between magnetic and dielectric order parameters for maximum transmittance of electromagnetic waves in order to use them in shielding materials. In this context, Mn-Zn ferrites were prepared using a wet chemical based sol-gel auto-combustion technique. X-ray diffraction confirmed the pure phase formation of samples, while some impurity peaks were also present for the higher value of Mn substitution. Field emission scanning electron microscopy revealed a decrease in grain size with increasing Mn substitution. While energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy confirmed the elemental composition of pure and Mn substituted samples, the dielectric constant, dielectric loss and tangent loss were decreased with increasing frequency and increasing Mn substitution. The complex electric modulus was found to be a function of frequency and values of complex electric modulus were increased with increasing frequency and Mn substitution. The complex impedance of RC series circuit and RC parallel circuit was also decreased with increasing both the parameters while AC conductivity was increased in the series. Dielectric frequency response was also studied for the prepared samples and the best match was found with expected results. The Nyquist and Cole-Cole plots revealed the semi-conductive behavior at higher frequency and Mn substitution also yielded the same results. The relative stability of the samples to be used as dielectric materials was also studied using Bode and Nichols plots, and a comparatively high gain margin was observed, well suitable for potential applications in electromagnetic shielding. 相似文献
