The thermodynamic stability of4He4–13 at 3.2 K is investigated with the classical Monte Carlo method, with the semiclassical path-integral Monte Carlo (PIMC) method, and with the semiclassical all-order many-body method. In the all-order many-body simulation the dipole-dipole approximation including short-range correction is used. The resulting stability plots are discussed and related to recent TOF experiments by Stephens and King. It is found that with classical Monte Carlo of course the characteristics of the measured mass spectrum cannot be resolved. With PIMC, switching on more and more quantum mechanics. by raising the number of virtual time steps results in more structure in the stability plot, but this did not lead to sufficient agreement with the TOF experiment. Only the all-order many-body method resolved the characteristic structures of the measured mass spectrum, including magic numbers. The result shows the influence of quantum statistics and quantum mechanics on the stability of small neutral helium clusters. 相似文献

The binding energy of excitons confined to a quantum ring under the influence of perpendicular homogeneous magnetic field is calculated as a function of the ring radius. Calculations are made by using the method of exact diagonalization within the effective-mass approximation. The feature of binding energy of the ground state as a function of the ring radius for several values of the magnetic field has been revealed. 纳米尺度下的光电器件的研制与米、毫米、微米尺度下电子器件或光学器件的研制在基本原理与制造技术上有本质的不同。必须采用量子电动力学和介观物理作为基本原理。在量子电动力学中,光子与电子可以相互转化,光子也可以储存在“空腔”中。光一电转换或光一电一光的转换甚至可以在远小于一个光波的尺度内实现(如100nm以下)。基于大量最新现象发现的启示与推动,产生了一种全新的光予技术:纳米光子技术。在这种全新的纳光子技术中,人们将光子电子的输运与转化联合起来进行考虑,非线性光学获得了长足的发展。微电子技术和概念被大量地推广应用于纳光子技术开发。创新型元件如集成激光器、30dB光放大器、效率为30%的1.55μm滤波器等层出不穷地涌现。纳米技术的研发为信息储存、输运和处理开辟了新的天地。进入21世纪,纳米光子技术研究日新月异。在摩尔经验规律的指导下,不断发展的微电子工业的制造精度已进入100nm领域。大规模应用纳米电子、纳米光子技术的时代已经来临。一些新型的光通讯线路已开始应用纳米光子器件。对公众而言,用于照明的LED只是一个应用实例。报告将结合法国国家纳米研究平台的研发成果来阐述纳米光子学的原理和纳米光子器件发展的趋势。 相似文献

The major purpose of this paper is to present a brief overview of the history and the current status of nanophotonics research in China, and to highlight some research results in the past years made by the Chinese nanophotonics communities. I will first briefly introduce the principles of nanophotonics and several of its major disciplines including photonic crystals, plasmonics and metamaterials, and related artificial acoustic structures. Then I will highlight some major progresses made by Chinese research groups in these areas with the selection made merely based on my personal taste. The aim is to let these results better known and appreciated by researchers in the Chinese communities of nanophotonics and related areas, and provide better opportunities of researchers in different areas to have more communications. Recent theoretical and experimental progress on nanolasers is reviewed with a focus on the emission properties of devices operating with a few or even an individual semiconductor quantum dot as a gain medium. Concepts underlying the design and operation of these devices, microscopic models describing light‐matter interaction and semiconductor effects, as well as recent experimental results and lasing signatures are discussed. In particular, a critical review of the “self‐tuned gain” mechanism which gives rise to quantum‐dot mode coupling in the off‐resonant case is provided. Although quantum field theory allows the local energy density negative, it also places severe restrictions on the negative energy. One of the restrictions is the quantum energy inequality (QEI), in which the energy density is averaged over time, or space, or over space and time. By now temporal QEIs have been established for various quantum fields, but less work has been done for the spacetime quantum energy inequality. In this paper we deal with the free Rarita-Schwinger field and present a quantum inequality bound on the energy density averaged over space and time.Comparison with the QEI for the Rarita-Schwinger field shows that the lower bound is the same with the QEI. At the same time, we find the quantum inequality for the Rarita-Schwinger field is weaker than those for the scalar and Dirac fields. This fact gives further support to the conjecture that the more freedom the field has, the more easily the field displays negative energy density and the weaker the quantum inequality becomes. 相似文献
