用BBO晶体产生196～228nm波长的紫外辐射

本文报道了用BBO晶体通过混频产生196～228nm可调谐紫外辐射的研究结果.产生200nm及222nm的量子转换效率分别为12%及23%,与理论计算值基本相符.     

Testing deviations from the inverse square law with a freely falling gravity gradiometer at balloon altitudes

Summary We discuss a null experiment to search for the fifth force at ranges around 10 km. It is proposed to use a three-axis gravity gradiometer to measure the trace of the Earth gravity tensor from a freely falling elevator dropped by a balloon. Gain saturation in quantum-well heterostructures

The effect of radiation gain saturation in quantum-well heretostructures was investigated in the system GaAs—AlGaAs with regard to the spectral line broadening and the type of radiation polarization. 热辐射驱动烧蚀平面金靶的数值定标定律

利用一维辐射流体力学编码数值研究了辐射烧蚀波在平面金靶中的传播情况,并在常温边界条件下得到了辐射流、烧蚀压、质量烧蚀率和特征等离子体密度的定标定律。     

激光二极管端面抽运的棒状Yb：YAG激光器

分析了影响激光二极管抽运Yb：YAG激光器调Q效率的参量，推导了激光二极管端面脉冲抽运Yb：YAG晶体的速率方程，解出了双程抽运情况下的净抽运量子产率。利用数值计算方法，模拟了净抽运量子产率与晶体长度，抽运光脉冲宽度等关系，得出晶体长度的优化可以提高Yb：YAG激光器输出效率。计算了词Q Yb：YAG激光器的最大增益、最大储能，分析了放大自发辐射对于Yb：YAG能量存储的影响。同时给出了激光二极管端面抽运调Q Yb：YAG优化设计方法。这些分析和计算为实际器件的研制提供参考。     

Magnetic calorimeter for registration of small energy release

A scheme of magnetic calorimeter for registration of rare events characterized by small energy release (cosmic rays, WIMPs, solitary X-ray quanta) is proposed. The calorimeter is brought to operation by adiabatic demagnetization, and its magnetic response is measured by a quantum interferometer (SQUID, A. Barone and G. Paterno, Physics and applications of Josephson Effect). Special consideration is given to the specific features of calorimeter operation in the ferromagnetic transition region. The trigger registration of ultrasmall energy release by a ferromagnetic system in the metastable state is described.     

A Modified Szilard Engine: Measurement, Information, and Maxwell's Demon

Using an isolated measurement process, we calculate the effect measurement has on entropy for the multi-cylinder Szilard engine. We find that the system of cylinders possesses an entropy associated with cylinder total energy states, and that it records information transferred at measurement. Contrary to other's results, we find that the apparatus loses entropy due to measurement. The Second Law of Thermodynamics may be preserved if Maxwell's demon gains entropy moving the engine partition.     

Metric fluctuations,entropy, and the Wheeler-deWitt equation
