Statistical Inference with Fractional Brownian Motion

We give a test between two complex hypothesis; namely we test whether a fractional Brownian motion (fBm) has a linear trend against a certain non-linear trend. We study some related questions, like goodness-of-fit test and volatility estimation in these models.

采用偏振光学理论,详细分析了光学电流传感器中偏振分束器消光比的变化对传感器性能的影响,得到了偏振分束器消光比与传感器输出的关系式,并用系统实验进行了验证.理论及实验结果的吻合证明了光学电流传感器稳定性直接受偏振分束器两路消光比影响的结论.     

Spectral shifts and spectral switches in diffraction of ultrashort pulsed beams passing through a circular aperture

Based on the Fourier transform method, a simple closed-form expression for the on-axis power spectrum of ultrashort Gaussian pulsed beams in diffraction at a circular aperture is derived, which permits us to study spectral changes both analytically and numerically. It is shown that for diffracted pulsed beams there exist spectral red and blue shifts, spectral narrowing, and spectral switches in the near field. The aperture diffraction plays an important role in spectral switching, but both the truncation parameter and bandwidth (or equally, Fourier transform limited pulse duration) affect the behavior of spectral switches.

LES of turbulent heat transfer: proper convection numerical schemes for temperature transport

Large eddy simulations of two basic configurations (decay of isotropic turbulence, and the academic plane channel flow) with heat transfer have been performed comparing several convection numerical schemes, in order to discuss their ability to evaluate temperature fluctuations properly. Results are compared with the available incompressible heat transfer direct numerical simulation data. It is shown that the use of regularizing schemes (such as high order upwind type schemes) for the temperature transport equation in combination with centered schemes for momentum transport equation gives better results than the use of centred schemes for both equations. Implementation of an integrated glucose POCT system

In response to a change of the Belgian National Directives whereby hospital laboratories became responsible for all point-of-care testing (POCT) performed within hospital walls a standardized and automated POC glucose-testing system was implemented in our hospital. The system consists of 50 AccuCheck Inform instruments (Roche Diagnostics, Vilvoorde, Belgium), 50 docking stations, a DataCare Server, and connections to the medical laboratory information system (MOLIS, Sysmex, Barchon, Belgium) and to the hospital information system. Implementation involved many parties and extensive preparation and communication. Key issues were bar-coded patient and user identification, training, and responsibilities. One year after the hospital wide implementation of this system the quality of POC glucose testing has significantly increased, thereby improving patient safety. This study describes a stepwise change over involving the medical laboratory and with a focus on hands-on quality.Presented at the ninth conference on Quality in the Spotlight, 18–19 March 2004, Antwerp, Belgium.     

Standardization of BSE rapid test performances and experiences gathered during the implementation of large-scale testing

The accumulation of pathological prion protein is used as a diagnostic marker for transmissible spongiform encephalopathies. According to European Union (EU) regulations cattle older than 30 months of age (Germany, France, Italy, and Spain by national law >24 months) and slaughtered for human consumption must be tested by using rapid tests for bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE). Likewise fallen stock and clinically affected animals must be tested. This article gives a short overview of the incidence of BSE in Europe. The diagnostic hierarchy, i.e., the officially approved methodology for the confirmation of suspect rapid test cases, and the organization of the numerous laboratories involved in this large-scale testing for BSE are described. Special emphasis is given to necessary quality control measures currently in place for BSE rapid testing laboratories and to measures intended to assure a consistent performance of the commercially available rapid test kits.Presented at BERM-9—Ninth International Symposium on Biological and Environmental Reference Materials, 15–19 June 2003, Berlin, Germany.     

Φ520mmF/1.6椭球面反射镜加工

介绍了一块Φ520mm大相对孔径(F/1.6)轻量化椭球面反射镜的加工与检测方法。镜面的有效口径为Φ502mm,顶点曲率半径为1600mm,非球面系数k=-0.9663,面形精度要求优于0.025λ(RMS)。镜子背面有54个大小深浅不一的不通孔,用于减轻镜子的重量。采用WYKO干涉仪检测得到镜面面形误差达RMS0.02λ,λ=632.8nm。     

密封容器中后处理制备Tl2Ba2CaCu2Oy高温超导薄膜及其性能研究

以铝酸镧（001）单晶为基片，采用两步法制备Tl2Ba2CaCu2Oy（Tl 2212）高 温超导薄膜.首先，利用脉冲激光沉积（PLD）工艺沉积Ba2CaCu2Ox非晶前驱体薄膜；然后，前驱体薄膜在高温（720—850℃）下密封钢容器里铊化结晶形成Tl 2212薄膜.XRD结果表明Tl2212 薄膜是沿c轴方向生长的，其相组成为Tl 2212，摇摆曲线（0012）的半高宽为0.72° ，SEM图像显示其表面光滑平整，其零电阻温度为106.2K. 关键词： Tl 2212超导薄膜 脉冲激光沉积
