The binary system H2O—UO2(NO3)2 was studied by solubility measurements and constant heat flow thermal analysis. Temperature and composition of the eutectic transformation between ice and uranyl nitrate hexahydrate were accurately defined. A new hydrate with 24 molecules of water decomposes at –21°C according to the peritectoid reaction<UO2(NO3)2·24H2O> <UO2(NO3)2·6H2O> + 18<H2O>The quasi-ideal model was applied to the solid—liquid equilibria, using the following reaction hypothesis:((UO 2 2+ )) + 2((NO 3 ))+ h((H2O)) ((UO2OH+aq)) + ((H3O+aq + 2((NO 3 aq))A complete calculation of the binary system was carried out with a global ionic hydration number h equal to 9 in the aqueous solutions. It allowed to the melting enthalpies of uranyl nitrate hydrates.

A new iodometric method for quantifying aqueous solutions of iodide-oxidizing and iodine-reducing substances, as well as plain iodine/iodide solutions, is presented. It is based on the redox potential of said solutions after reaction with iodide (or iodine) of known initial concentration. Calibration of the system and calculations of unknown concentrations was performed on the basis of developed algorithms and simple GWBASIC-programs. The method is distinguished by a short analysis time (2–3 min) and a simple instrumentation consisting of pH/mV meter, platinum and reference electrodes. In general the feasible concentration range encompasses 0.1 to 10–6 mol/L, although it goes down to 10–8 mol/L (0.001 mg Cl2/L) for oxidants like active chlorine compounds. The calculated imprecision and inaccuracy of the method were found to be 0.4–0.9% and 0.3–0.8%, respectively, resulting in a total error of 0.5–1.2%. Based on the experiments, average imprecisions of 1.0–1.5% at c(Ox)>10–5 M, 1.5–3% at 10–5 to 10–7 M, and 4–7% at <10–7 M were found. Redox-iodometry is a simple, precise, and time-saving substitute for the more laborious and expensive iodometric titration method, which, like other well-established colorimetric procedures, is clearly outbalanced at low concentrations; this underlines the practical importance of redox-iodometry.

We study the analytic structure of thermodynamic functions at first-order phase transitions in systems with short-range interactions and in particular in the two-dimensional Ising model. We analyze the nature of the approximation of the d=2 system by anN × strip. Investigation of the structure of the eigenvalues of the transfer matrix in the vicinity of H=0 in the complexH plane allows us to define a new function which provides rapidly convergent approximations to the stable free energyf and its derivatives for allH 0. This new function is used for numerical calculation of the coefficients Cn in the power series expansions of the magnetizationm in the form m(H)=1 + Cn(H-H 0 )n for various H0 0. The resulting series are studied by conventional methods. We confirm recent series analysis results on the existence of the droplet model type essential singularity at H=0. Evidence is found for a spinodal at H=Hsp(Ti < 0.  相似文献

The structure of 2-nitroethanal has been studied at the MP2/6-31G* level in the gas phase and in acetonitrile using a continuum model to represent the electrostatic solute-solvent interactions. The relative energies of the two stable conformations obtained are quite dependent on the media. Indeed, our computations predict a change of the most stable conformation from gas to polar solvent. These results are in agreement with experimental data for the axial/equatorial conformational equilibrium of 2-nitrocyclohexanone.  相似文献

用等压法研究了273.15 K下Li2B4O7-LiCl-H2O体系不同质量摩尔浓度分数的等压平衡浓度和水活度; 计算了LiCl和Li2B4O7混合盐溶液的渗透系数等热力学性质. 用273.15 K下的实验数据对Pitzer离子相互作用模型进行了参数化研究, 拟合求取了273.15 K下Pitzer离子相互作用参数, 用获得的参数计算了LiCl和Li2B4O7在Li2B4O7-LiCl-H2O体系中的活度系数. 273.15 K下由相应的Pitzer模型计算的渗透系数值与实验结果一致. 这对完善含锂、硼盐湖卤水体系的热力学模型具有重要意义.  相似文献

An extensive quantum chemical study of the potential energy surfaces (PES) for the association reaction of NH2 with CN and the subsequent isomerization and dissociation reactions has been carried out using density functional theory (DFT)/B3LYP/6‐311++G(3df,2p) level of theory on both singlet and triplet states. The reaction mechanism on the triplet surface is more complicated than that on the singlet surface. A total of 19 isomers and 46 transition states have been identified and characterized on the triplet PES. Among them, IM2 (IM2a), IM3 (IM3a, IM3b), and IM10 are the lowest‐lying isomers with thermodynamic stability. Twenty available dissociation channels, depending on the different initial isomers, have been identified. On the singlet surface, only 12 isomers and 16 transition states have been found, and among them IM1(S) and IM2(S) are the lowest‐lying isomers. The higher isomerization and dissociation barriers on the singlet surface indicate that the addition and the subsequent reactions of NH2+CN are most likely to occur on the triplet PES because of the lower barriers. A prediction can be made for the possible mechanism explaining the production of H+HNCN. Besides HNCN, other major products are NH+HCN and NH+HNC, which are produced by direct dissociation reactions from triplet IM2 and IM3, respectively. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Laser-induced fluorescence (LIF) excitation spectra of m-methylanisole in a supersonic jet were measured. Two series of progressions were observed in the spectrum, originating at 36048 and 36115 cm−1, which were successfully assigned to the transitions to the methyl internal rotational vibronic levels of the two isomers, i.e. cis and trans isomers, with the aid of hole-burning spectrum measurements and quantum-chemical calculations. The progression for the trans isomer was observed up to the 6a1 band, while only the 3a1 band in addition to the 0a1 and 1e bands was observed for the cis isomer. This finding can be explained by the conformational change upon the electronic excitation; the 60° rotation of the methyl torsional angle takes place for the trans isomer but not for the cis isomer.  相似文献

The partial molal volumes of Li+, Na+, K+, Rb+, Cs+, Cl, Br, I, and NO 3 - in DMSO at 25°C have been determined from ultrasonic vibration potential data and density data for solutions of uni-univalent electrolytes. Hepler's semiemprirical equation has been used to split ionic partial molal volumes into geometric and electrostrictive contributions. The results obtained in this work confirm the conclusion of our previous studies, namely, that the contribution of electrostriction is essentially determined by the properties of that layer of atoms, 0.3 to 0.4 nm thick, in contact with the ion and by the degree of steric hindrance of the poles of the dipole of the solvent molecule. On the other hand, the geometric contribution depends on the size of the solvent molecule and also on the arrangement of the solvent molecules about the ions. It is shown that the geometric contribution to the partial molal volume of ions is largely increased when ions cannot come close enough to the poles of the solvent-molecule dipole, owing to steric hindrance.  相似文献
