双偏振结构保偏光纤偏振器的研制

提出了保偏光纤偏振器的一种串联结构,即双偏振结构,报道了研制的结果。并通过对单偏振结构和双偏振结构器件测试结果的比较,得出双偏振结构的保偏光纤偏振器可使器件达到高消光比,并且有稳定的温度特性。

Measuring the Michel parameter ξ'

Unlike the majority of Michel parameters which are consistent with the Standard Model V-A interaction, the experimental value of ξ″(=0.65±0.36) [1] is poorly known. Our experiment will measure the longitudinal polarization, P _L , of positrons emitted from the decay of polarized muons. The value of P _L , equal to unity in the Standard Model, will decrease for high energy positrons emitted antiparallel to the muon spin if the combination of Michel parameters ξ″/ξξ′ − 1 deviates from the Standard Model value of zero. This revised version was published online in August 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.     

利用三色光栅实现彩色图像相减

New FIR laser lines and frequency measurements for optically pumped CD3OH

Twenty new cw FIR laser lines in CD₃OH, optically pumped by a CO₂ laser, are reported. The frequencies of 39 of the stronger laser lines were measured relative to stabilized CO₂ lasers with a fractional uncertainty, as determined by the reproducibility of the FIR frequency itself, of 2 parts in 10⁷.Contribution of the U.S. Government, not subject to copyright.     

Resonant waveguide grating: Analysis of polarization independent filtering

We investigate the property of polarization independent reflection using a 1D grating. It is shown to be possible, by choosing the correct parameters of the structure and angle of incidence to adjust the bandwidth of the reflection curves for both polarizations in such a way that these coincide. We expect that the found polarization-independent narrow band filter can be used as a component for WDM applications.     

Precise Quadrupole Moment of the Doubly Closed Shell Plus One Proton Nucleus 41Sc

In order to precisely determine the |eqQ(⁴¹Sc)/h| of ⁴¹Sc(I ^π=7/2⁻, T _1/2=0.596 s) implanted in a TiO₂ single crystal the electric field gradient tensor and anisotropic chemical shift were determined by detecting the Fourier Transformed Pulse-NMR of ⁴⁵Sc(I ^π=7/2⁻, stable) in the crystal at a high field of 7.0 T and 9.4 T. Combining the new |eqQ(⁴¹Sc)/h| value with the Q(⁴⁵Sc)=−(23.6±0.2) fm², also renewed by using the known atomic hyperfine interaction constants and Sternheimer polarization effect, the |Q(⁴¹Sc;I ^π=7/2⁻,T _1/2=0.596 s)|=(15.6±0.3) fm² has been precisely determined. The value is compared with the theoretical Q(⁴¹Sc) given by a shell model code. This revised version was published online in September 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.     

Frequencies and wavelengths from a new, efficient FIR lasing gas: CD2F2

We report for the first time wavelength, relative polarization, and frequency measurements for 47 new cw FIR laser lines in the wavelength region from 120 to 1714 m, all obtained by optically pumping CD₂F₂ with a CO₂ laser. Relative output powers were also measured. For comparison, the 189.8 m line pumped by R_I(34) is nearly five times as efficient as the 118.8 m methyl alcohol line.Contribution of the U.S. Government, not subject to copyright.
