We present several design examples of how to apply transformation optics and curved space under coordinate transformation to manipulating the surface plasmon waves in a controlled manner.We demonstrate in detail the design procedure of the plasmonic wave squeezer,in-plane bend and omnidirectional absorber.We show that the approximation method of modifying only the dielectric material of a dielectric-metal surface of the plasmonic device could lead to acceptable performance,which facilitates the fabrication of the device.The functionality of the proposed plasmonic device is verified using three-dimensional full-wave electromagnetic simulations.Aiming at practical realization,we also show the design of a plasmonic in-plane bend and omnidirectional absorber by an alternative transformation scheme,which results in a simple device structure with a tapered isotropic dielectric cladding layer on the top of the metal surface that can be fabricated with existing nanotechnology.  相似文献

We study the behavior of half-quantum vortices (HQVs) in exciton–polariton condensates in planar semiconductor microcavities in applied magnetic field. Below the critical magnetic field, that is defined by the polariton–polariton interaction constant, the condensate is elliptically polarized and there are two types of HQVs, deep and shallow. They correspond to singularities in majority and minority circular components of the condensate wave function, respectively. The core radius (healing length) of the deep HQVs decreases and the core radius of the shallow HQVs increases with increase of magnetic field. The shallow HQVs disappear and the deep HQVs transform into the integer vortices in the circularly polarized condensate when the applied magnetic field exceeds the critical one.  相似文献

A hybrid metal–organic–photonic crystal (PC), a gold film with a SU8 film on its top followed by a three-dimensional (3D) PC, was designed to exercise additional control upon the photon behaviors. Attenuated total reflection measurements demonstrate that the 3D PC plays a crucial role in the formation of significant optical properties of the metal-based hybrid and the reflectivity minimum in its reflectivity curve is, mostly, a result of synergetic action of the coupling of surface plasmon polaritons to surface modes and additional guided modes yielded in the resonant cavity composed of the gold film and the PC.  相似文献

运用时域有限差分(FDTD)方法数值研究了一种亚波长之字形金属-绝缘体-金属(MIM)等离子波导结构的传输属性。之字形波导在连续两个拐角可向外延伸出1~4个短切口。每个切口独立构成一个谐振腔,谐振波长近似与切口深度成线性正比,而与切口方向无关。当任意一个切口满足谐振条件时,该波导结构在对应波长的透射率均趋近于0。随着同深度切口数目的增加,禁带波长区域逐渐展宽,形成一个良好的宽带滤波器。  相似文献

We consider the propagation of quantized polarized light in a magneto-optically-manipulated atomic ensemble with a tripod configuration. A polariton formalism is applied when the medium is subjected to a washboard magnetic field under electromagnetically-induced transparency. The dark-state polariton with multiple components is achieved. We analyze the quantum dynamics of the dark-state polariton using experimental data from the rubidium D1-line. It is found that one component propagates freely, however the wave packet trajectory of the other component performs Bloch oscillations.  相似文献

Periodic waves are presented in this Letter. With symbolic computation, equations for monochromatic waves are studied, and analytic periodic waves are obtained. Factors affecting properties of periodic waves are analyzed. Nonlinear metamaterials, with the continuous distribution of the dielectric permittivity obtained, are different from the ones with the discrete distribution.  相似文献

银层超透镜对基于表面等离子体激元的超分辨光刻、 成像和生物传感有着重要作用.利用银层超透镜的光学传递函数详 细研究了银板的表面等离子体激元共振和成像特性, 并利用时域有限差分法计算模拟了银层超透镜的成像过程, 得到与理论推导公式相符合的结果, 证明了光学传递函数的可靠性, 为基于表面等离子体激元的传感器件、 超分辨成像以及辅助增强干涉光刻提供了快速参数优化方法.  相似文献

表面等离激元是一种在金属与介质界面上激发并耦合电荷密度起伏的电磁振荡, 具有近场增强和短波长等特性, 在纳米光子学的研究中扮演重要角色. 将表面等离激元的效应用于单光子源的制备, 不但可以有效减小器件的体积, 而且可以有效提高单光子的辐射和收集效率. 本文根据表面等离激元的珀赛尔系数与光子态密度的关系, 采用局域态密度计算的方法, 分析了不同金属材料的局域态密度及珀赛尔系数的特性. 通过计算比较, 选择银为最佳金属材料, 并在此基础上讨论了探测距离和电介质材料对局域态密度和珀赛尔系数的影响, 为基于表面等离子激元的单光子源制备提供重要参数.  相似文献

Ultra‐fast nano‐optics is a comparatively young and rapidly growing field of research aiming at probing, manipulating and controlling ultrafast optical excitations on nanometer length scales. This ability to control light on nanometric length and femtosecond time scales opens up exciting possibilities for probing dynamic processes in nanostructures in real time and space. This article gives a brief introduction into the emerging research field of ultrafast nano‐optics and discusses recent progress made in it. A particular emphasis is laid on the recent experimental work performed in the authors' laboratories. We specifically discuss how ultrafast nano‐optical techniques can be used to probe and manipulate coherent optical excitations in individual and dipole‐coupled pairs of quantum dots, probe the dynamics of surface plasmon polariton excitations in metallic nanostructures, generate novel nanometer‐sized ultrafast light and electron sources and reveal the dipole interaction between excitons and surface plasmon polaritons in hybrid metal‐semiconductor nanostructures. Our results indicate that such hybrid nanostructures carry significant potential for realizing novel nano‐optical devices such as ultrafast nano‐optical switches as well as surface plasmon polariton amplifiers and lasers.  相似文献
