Till present, models that determined batch plants configurations in the chemical process industry resorted to models with binary variables to represent the different admissible options. This approach allowed representing the problem in a simple way while considering a significant number of alternatives. Nevertheless, the non-convexity that arises when dealing with detailed models for representing the involved units operation prevents its correct resolution or has a low performance. This work presents a representation of the problem through a superstructure that takes explicitly into account all the alternatives without resorting to binary variables. By using extremely simple modeling, it is possible to manage an appropriate number of options for this type of problems by means of a non-linear programming (NLP) model. Moreover, it is possible to consider duplication in series of production stages, which is an alternative that has not been used till now. This approach is posed for the case of a fermentors network. The solution is reached with very low requirements as regards employed computer time and without the aforementioned difficulties. 相似文献

An unified miniature optically pumped NH3 submillimeter wave laser (OPSMMWL), including a mini TEA-CO2 pump laser, was developed. It lased successfully with coherent emission at 67.2m, 90.4m and 151.5m. The optimum operation of the unified mini-OPSMMWL was studied experimentally and the relations among SMMW laser output power, operating gas pressure, length and coupling condition of the cavity were measured. It has been found that buffer gas N2 has significant effect on 67.2m and 151.5m emissions and very wide band SMMW laser emission was a common feature of the mini-OPSMMW cavity laser. 相似文献

From the crystal chemistry and icosahedral phase, two kinds of coordinational polyhedron with 8-fold rotational symmetry——hexakaicahedra and bicapped antiprism were possibly suggested and their one- and two-dimensional quasilattices were deducted. According to the principle of Bravais in conventional crystallography, four kinds of two-dimensional unit cell have been defined in 5, 8, 10, 12-fold rotational symmetry quasicrystal. The authors considered that quasicrystal is a kind of crystal which possesses an incommensurable translational period. Membrane technology has found wide applications in the petrochemical industry, mainly in the purification and recovery of the hydrogen resources. Accurate prediction of the membrane separation performance plays an important role in carrying out advanced process control (APC). For the first time, a soft-sensor model for the membrane separation process has been established based on the radial basis function (RBF) neural networks. The main performance parameters, i.e, permeate hydrogen concentration, permeate gas flux, and residue hydrogen concentration, are estimated quantitatively by measuring the operating temperature, feed-side pressure, permeate-side pressure, residue-side pressure, feed-gas flux, and feed-hydrogen concentration excluding flow structure, membrane parameters, and other compositions. The predicted results can gain the desired effects. The effectiveness of this novel approach lays a foundation for integrating control technology and optimizing the operation of the gas membrane separation process. 相似文献

In recent work, Alladi, Andrews and Gordon discovered a key identity which captures several fundamental theorems in partition theory. In this paper we construct a combinatorial bijection which explains this key identity. This immediately leads to a better understanding of a deep theorem of Göllnitz, as well as Jacobi's triple product identity and Schur's partition theorem.

Summary Single Column Ion Chromatography (SCIC) combines ion exchange separation with direct electrical conductivity detection. Because no supressor column is used in SCIC the post-column dead volume is minimized. This means that HPLC technology can be applied to reduce analysis times. The analysis of chloride, nitrate, and sulphate can be accomplished in 6 min using a standard 250×4.6 mm LC column packed with a low-capacity ion-exchange chemically bonded silica leading to a sensitivity of 100 ppb. A 1 min analysis for chloride, nitrate, and sulphate at the ppm level is possible using a 30×4.6 mm column eluted with 4mM phthalate buffer at pH 4.5.Presented at the 14th International Symposium on Chromatography London, September, 1982 相似文献
