Controlled remote implementation of partially unknown quantum operation

A protocol for controlled remote implementation of a partially unknown operation on an arbitrary quantum state is proposed. In this protocol, a task can be performed using a GHZ state shared among three distant parties: Alice, Bob and the controller Charlie. This protocol is also generalized to the multi-party control system based on sharing an N-qubit GHZ state. Dynamics of implicit operations and tameness of pseudovarieties of groups

This work gives a new approach to the construction of implicit operations. By considering ``higher-dimensional' spaces of implicit operations and implicit operators between them, the projection of idempotents back to one-dimensional spaces produces implicit operations with interesting properties. Besides providing a wealth of examples of implicit operations which can be obtained by these means, it is shown how they can be used to deduce from results of Ribes and Zalesski, Margolis, Sapir and Weil, and Steinberg that the pseudovariety of -groups is tame. More generally, for a recursively enumerable extension closed pseudovariety of groups , if it can be decided whether a finitely generated subgroup of the free group with the pro- topology is dense, then is tame.

     

LD泵浦Nd:YAG 946 nm/1 064 nm双波长运转及腔内和频

用国产半导体激光二极管(LD)端面泵浦NdYAG晶体, 通过优化激光谐振腔反射膜系,调节1 064 nm谱线的线性损耗以达到与弱谱线946 nm的增益匹配,在室温下实现1 064 nm和946 nm双波长连续运转,并通过I类临界相位匹配LBO晶体腔内和频在国内首次实现500.8 nm青色激光连续输出.当泵浦注入功率为1.4W时和频青色激光最大输出达20 mW,光-光转换效率为1.4%,功率稳定性24 h内优于±3%.     

Mode Distribution and Bandwidth Characteristic of Arbitrarily Trapezoidal-Groove Guide for Millimeter Waves

The modes TE and TM of arbitrarily trapezoidal-groove guide are analyzed by using the mode-matching method. The mode TE₁₁ is the dominant mode of the trapezoidal-groove guide under different conditions. The bandwidth characteristic and the operation condition for the single dominant mode are discussed. The obtained conclusions are of very important significance in theoretical study and practical application of trapeziodal-groove guides for millimeter waves.     

Higher Harmonic Operations of Submillimeter Wave Gyrotrons (Gyrotron FU Series)

Higher harmonic operation of gyrotrons is necessary to obtain high frequencies. Some gyrotrons included in the Gyrotron FU series developed at Fukui University have achieved operation at the third and even fourth harmonics of the electron cyclotron frequency. The output lies in the millimeter to submillimeter wavelength range and the output powers are several watts to several tens of watts. In this paper, the gyrotrons and the conditions under which they operate are described in detail.

A procedure for one-parametric linear programming

A procedure is proposed for the parametric linear programming problem where all the coefficients are linear or polynomial functions of a scalar parameter. The solution vector and the optimum value are determined explicitly as rational functions of the parameter. In addition to standard linear programming technique, only the determination of eigenvalues is required. The procedure is compared to those by Dinkelbach and Zsigmond, and a numerical example is given.     

The “SKATE” CO2 Gigawatt Laser for a Laser-Plasma Generator of Ions and Nuclei

A set-up of the CO₂ SKATE and its output characteristics are described. The system is based on a self-sustained gas discharge module with x-ray preionization that ensures reliability and stable repetition rate operation at 1 Hz for a long time. Measurement of the initial electron density in the discharge volume produced by an x-ray gun is presented for different gases and their mixtures, which is of independent interest for some applications of x-ray preionization. Data on measurements of the low-intensity signal gain and laser parameters for a free-running generator configuration are presented as well as long-term operation characteristics. This laser system has been used as a CO₂ generator with gigawatt peak intensity and high spatial–temporal characteristics. In particular, the laser can be used as a driver for a source of multicharged ions in contrast to the laboratory prototypes previously investigated.     

Algebraic Operations and Generic Effects

Given a complete and cocomplete symmetric monoidal closed category V and a symmetric monoidal V-category C with cotensors and a strong V-monad T on C, we investigate axioms under which an Ob C-indexed family of operations of the form _x :(Tx) ^v (Tx) ^w provides semantics for algebraic operations on the computational -calculus. We recall a definition for which we have elsewhere given adequacy results, and we show that an enrichment of it is equivalent to a range of other possible natural definitions of algebraic operation. In particular, we define the notion of generic effect and show that to give a generic effect is equivalent to giving an algebraic operation. We further show how the usual monadic semantics of the computational -calculus extends uniformly to incorporate generic effects. We outline examples and non-examples and we show that our definition also enriches one for call-by-name languages with effects.
