Blends of a tetrafunctional epoxy resin, tetraglycidyl‐4,4′‐diaminodiphenylmethane (TGDDM), and a hydroxyl‐functionalized hyperbranched polymer (HBP), aliphatic hyperbranched polyester Boltorn H40, were prepared using 3,3′‐diaminodiphenyl sulfone (DDS) as curing agent. The phase behavior and morphology of the DDS‐cured epoxy/HBP blends with HBP content up to 30 phr were investigated by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The phase behavior and morphology of the DDS‐cured epoxy/HBP blends were observed to be dependent on the blend composition. Blends with HBP content from 10 to 30 phr, show a particulate morphology where discrete HBP‐rich particles are dispersed in the continuous cured epoxy‐rich matrix. The cured blends with 15 and 20 phr exhibit a bimodal particle size distribution whereas the cured blend with 30 phr HBP demonstrates a monomodal particle size distribution. Mechanical measurements show that at a concentration range of 0–30 phr addition, the HBP is able to almost double the fracture toughness of the unmodified TGDDM epoxy resin. FTIR displays the formation of hydrogen bonding between the epoxy network and the HBP modifier. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part B: Polym Phys 48: 417–424, 2010  相似文献

Hydrogen bonding interactions, phase behavior, crystallization, and surface hydrophobicity in nanostructured blend of bisphenol A‐type epoxy resin (ER), for example, diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A (DGEBA) and poly(ε‐caprolactone)‐block‐poly(dimethyl siloxane)‐block‐poly(ε‐caprolactone) (PCL–PDMS–PCL) triblock copolymer were investigated by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimetry, transmission electron microscopy, small‐angle X‐ray scattering, and contact angle measurements. The PCL–PDMS–PCL triblock copolymer consisted of two epoxy‐miscible PCL blocks and an epoxy‐immiscible PDMS block. The cured ER/PCL–PDMS–PCL blends showed composition‐dependent nanostructures from spherical and worm‐like microdomains to lamellar morphology. FTIR study revealed the existence of hydrogen bonding interactions between the PCL blocks and the cured epoxy, which was responsible for their miscibility. The overall crystallization rate of the PCL blocks in the blend decreased remarkably with increasing ER content, whereas the melting point was slightly depressed in the blends. The surface hydrophobicity of the cured ER increased upon addition of the block copolymer, whereas the surface free energy (γs) values decreased with increasing block copolymer concentration. The hydrophilicity of the epoxy could be reduced through blending with the PCL–PDMS–PCL block copolymer that contained a hydrophobic PDMS block. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In this work, aligned and molecularly oriented bone‐like PLLA semihollow fiber yarns were manufactured continuously from an optimized homogeneous polymer‐solvent‐nonsolvent system [PLLA, CH2Cl2, and dimethyl formamide (DMF)] by a single capillary electrospinning via self‐bundling technique. Here, it should be emphasized that the self‐bundling electrospinning technique, a very facile electrospinning technique with a grounded needle (which is to induce the self‐bundling of polymer nanofibers at the beginning of electrospinning process), is used for the alignment and molecular orientation of the polymer fiber, and the take‐up speed of the rotating drum for the electrospun fiber yarn collection is very low (0.5 m/s). PLLA can be dissolved in DMF and CH2Cl2 mixed solvent with different ratios. By varying the ratios of mixed solvent system, PLLA electrospun semihollow fiber with the porous inner structure and compact shell wall could be formed, the thickness of the shell and the size of inner pores could be adjusted. The results of polarized FTIR and wide angle X‐ray diffraction investigations verified that as‐prepared PLLA semihollow fiber yarns were well‐aligned and molecularly oriented. Both the formation mechanism of semihollow fibers with core‐shell structure and the orientation mechanism of polymer chains within the polymer fibers were all discussed. The as‐prepared self‐bundling electrospun PLLA fiber yarns possessed enhanced mechanical performance compared with the corresponding conventional electrospun PLLA fibrous nonwoven membranes. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The application of chemical‐modified gold nanoparticles (GNPs) as chiral selector for the enantioseparation based on pseudostationary phase‐CEC (PSP‐CEC) is presented. GNPs modified by thiolated β‐CD were characterized by NMR and FT‐IR. The nanoparticle size was determined to be of 9.5 nm (+2.5 nm) by Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) and UV spectra. Four pairs of dinitrophenyl‐labeled amino acid enantiomers (DL‐Val, Leu, Glu and Asp) and three pairs of drug enantiomers (RS‐chlorpheniramine, zopiclone and carvedilol) were analyzed by using modified GNPs as the chiral selector in PSP‐CEC. Good theoretical plate number (up to 2.4×105 per meter) and separation resolution (up to 4.7) were obtained even with low concentration of modified GNPs (0.8–1.4 mg/mL). The corresponding concentration of β‐CD in the buffer was only 0.30?0.53 mM, which was much lower than the optimum concentration of 15 mM if pure β‐CD was used as chiral selector. Our results showed that thiolated β‐CD modified GNPs have more sufficient interaction with the analytes, resulting in significant enhancement of enantioseparation. The study shed light on potential usage of chemical modified GNPs as chiral selector for enantioseparation based on PSP‐CEC.  相似文献

This paper describes for the first time the use of single‐walled carbon nanohorns (SWNHs) as pseudostationary and stationary phases for EKC and CEC, respectively, taking advantage of their characteristic features, such as conical‐end termination, formation of spherical assemblies dahlia‐flower like superstructure and easy functionalization. The use of SWNHs as pseudostationary phase for EKC required the study of their dispersion in different surfactants as well as their compatibility with the electrophoretic system. The carboxylation and subsequent immobilization of carboxylated SWNHs in fused‐silica capillary to obtain useful, reproducible and stable stationary phases for CEC has also been investigated, with promising results. The electrophoretic separations obtained for water‐soluble vitamins in both modalities (EKC and CEC) have been systematically compared with those obtained with single‐walled carbon nanotubes.  相似文献

Bromoacetate‐substituted [3‐(2‐O‐β‐cyclodextrin)‐2‐hydroxypropoxy]propylsilyl‐appended silica particles (BACD‐HPS), an important and useful synthetic intermediate for preparation of novel types of macrocycles‐capped β‐CD‐bonded silica particles including crown ether/cyclam/calix[4]arene‐capped β‐CD‐bonded silica particles, have been prepared and used as chiral stationary phase for HPLC. This synthetic stationary phase is characterized by means of elemental analysis. For the first time, the chromatographic behavior of BACD‐HPS was systematically evaluated with several disubstituted benzenes and some chiral drug compounds under both normal and RP conditions in HPLC. The results show that BACD‐HPS has excellent selectivity for the separation of aromatic positional isomers and chiral isomers of some drug compounds when used as stationary phase in HPLC.  相似文献

A Hamiltonian to describe a spin quantum Hall effect with two types of spin‐orbit coupling is introduced and the eigenfunctions and eigenvalues are obtained for it. It is shown that this Hamiltonian also results by gauging a kinetic energy Hamiltonian by an SU (2) gauge field. The Berry phase is obtained from the model wavefunction for the model and used to define a filling factor. This allows for the calculation of the spin Hall conductivity. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J Quantum Chem, 2010  相似文献

A new force field for the simulation of dipalmitoylphosphatidylcholine (DPPC) in the liquid‐crystalline, fluid phase at zero surface tension is presented. The structure of the bilayer with the area per lipid (0.629 nm2; experiment 0.629–0.64 nm2), the volume per lipid (1.226 nm3; experiment 1.229–1.232 nm3), and the ordering of the palmitoyl chains (order parameters) are all in very good agreement with experiment. Experimental electron density profiles are well reproduced in particular with regard to the penetration of water into the bilayer. The force field was further validated by simulating the spontaneous assembly of DPPC into a bilayer in water. Notably, the timescale on which membrane sealing was observed using this model appears closer to the timescales for membrane resealing suggested by electroporation experiments than previous simulations using existing models. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Standard phase cycled NMR pulse sequences were generalized such that for each individual step of the pulse phase cycle the free induction decay is stored separately without phase correction. This is in contrast to the usual practice, where pulse responses are phase shifted immediately (by applying a ‘receiver phase’) and co‐added as they are stored. The approach used here allows one to extract different types of NMR information, which are usually referred to as different ‘experiments’, from the same raw data set a posteriori by using complex linear combinations. Storing the free induction decays of individual phase cycle steps separately and using specific linear combinations of these data to obtain a particular type of information increase the overall efficiency of a given set of NMR experiments substantially, because all information can be derived from a single multiplexed data set. This ‘super‐experiment’ requires only as much time as the most complex of the derived specific experiments alone. The principle of this multipurpose approach was demonstrated by performing different multiple‐quantum filtered COSY experiments. It also becomes possible to generate linear combinations, which differ from the conventionally acquired spectra a posteriori. For example, we implemented diagonal peak reduction by using zero‐ and single‐quantum filtered COSY contributions without requiring additional experiment time. Despite the advances of solid phase peptide synthesis (SPPS) the synthesis of long peptides is still challenging. Microwave irradiation and conventional heating are considered to improve the efficiency of SPPS. It has been shown that conventional heating and heating by microwave irradiation improves the efficiency of solid phase synthesis of peptides that are prone to aggregation as compared to the synthesis at room temperature. In this Letter, the influence of elevated temperature and microwave irradiation on the homogeneity of the synthesis product of a 58-mer peptide affibody has been compared. A detailed analysis by high resolution HPLC and LC-MS mass spectrometry using a high-mass resolution Orbitrap Exactive mass spectrometer was performed. This study revealed that neither thermal heating nor microwave heating improves the yield and purity of the crude product as compared to the synthesis at room temperature. In contrast, the formation of undesirable side products rather increased by microwave irradiation. These results indicate that neither heating nor microwave enhancement of solid phase synthesis does allow a significant improvement of peptide sequences with a low aggregation potential.  相似文献
