On the vanishing viscosity method for first order differential-functional IBVP

We consider the initial-boundary value problem for first order differential-functional equations. We present the ‘vanishing viscosity’ method in order to obtain viscosity solutions. Our formulation includes problems with a retarded and deviated argument and differential-integral equations. Supported by KBN grant 2 PO3A, 01811.     

Evolution of hypersurfaces by the mean curvature minus an external force field

In this paper, we study the evolution of hypersurface moving by the mean curvature minus an external force field. It is shown that the flow will blow up in a finite time if the mean curvature of the initial surface is larger than some constant depending on the boundness of derivatives of the external force field. For a linear force, we prove that the convexity of the hypersurface is preserved during the evolution and the flow has a unique smooth solution in any finite time and expands to infinity as the time tends to infinity if the initial curvature is smaller than the slope of the force.

一类无结构三角网上抛物方程的有限差分区域分解算法

本文讨论了一类在无结构三角网上数值求解二维热传导方程的有限差分区域分解算法．在这个算法中,将通过引进两类不同类型的内界点,将求解区域分裂成若干子区域．一旦内界点处的值被计算出来,其余子区域上的计算可完全并行．本文得到了稳定性条件和最大模误差估计,它表明我们的格式有令人满意的稳定性和较高的收敛阶．     

反射式倒装对1 300 nm激光器性能改善的分析

对AlGaInAs多量子阱1 300 nm FP激光器进行反射式倒装封装,在热沉上靠近激光器出光端面约10~20 μm的区域采用Au反射层,对器件垂直方向出光进行反射。测试结果显示,与常规封装相比,采用这种结构封装芯片垂直发散角从34.5°降低至17°,器件单模光纤的平均耦合功率从1 850 μW提高至2 326 μW,耦合效率从21.1%提高到26.5%。对两种激光器进行光电参数的测量,结果表明：与常规封装器件相比,采用反射式倒装结构器件的饱和电流从135 mA提高至155 mA,饱和输出功率从37 mW提高至42 mW,热阻从194 K/W降低至131 K/W。最后对两种器件在95℃环境温度、100 mA电流下进行加速老化实验,老化结果显示：在老化条件下,器件衰退系数从常规封装的4.22×10^-5降低至1.06×10^-5,寿命从5 283 h提高至21 027 h。     

Dual-wavelength distributed Bragg reflector semiconductor laser based on a composite resonant cavity

We report a monolithic integrated dual-wavelength laser diode based on a distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) composite resonant cavity. The device consists of three sections, a DBR grating section, a passive phase section, and an active gain section. The gain section facet is cleaved to work as a laser cavity mirror. The other laser mirror is the DBR grating, which also functions as a wavelength filter and can control the number of wavelengths involved in the laser action. The reflection bandwidth of the DBR grating is fabricated to have an appropriate value to make the device work at the dual-wavelength lasing state. We adopt the quantum well intermixing (QWI) technique to provide low-absorption loss grating and passive phase section in the fabrication process. By tuning the injection currents on the DBR and the gain sections, the device can generate 0.596 nm-spaced dual-wavelength lasing at room temperature.
