An injection-locked single-mode tea CO2 laser for SMM laser pumping

A D₂O laser has been developed for collective Thomson scattering measurements of ion temperature in high temperature plasmas. A pulse duration and a spectral width of a high power D₂O laser has been successfully controlled for this purpose, by using a TEA CO₂ laser injection-locked by an etalon-tuned TEA CO₂ laser as a pump source.     

Mode selective directional couplers for overmoded waveguide systems

Two types of directional couplers for transverse electric (TE) modes are described: short and multihole couplers, respectively. They selectively pick one mode out of a mode mixture in an overmoded circular waveguide system. Unwanted modes are either statistically kept at low level or are suppressed by destructive interference in the coupling waveguide. Mode selectivity and directivity in multihole couplers oscillate up and down with an increasing number of holes, finally reaching a minimum of approximately 20 dB, unless there are competing modes with rational fractions of the beat wavelength. A multihole coupler for the TE₀₂ mode (28 GHz, 63.4 mm waveguide diameter, 41 holes) and a length of 1.6 m shows a calculated directivity of 68 dB and suppresses the unwanted modes TE₀₁ with 34 dB (24 dB), TE₂₂ with 37 dB (45 dB), and further modes TE_m (<5, m<6) with 17 dB to 34 dB in forward direction (figures in parentheses are for unwanted modes propagating in backward direction).A short directional coupler for the TE₀₁ mode (28 GHz, 63.4 mm waveguide diameter) with 16 holes and a length of 230 mm shows a directivity of 55 to 100 dB between 27.9 and 28.1 GHz, suppressing the TE₀₂ mode with 35 to 80 dB, the TE₀₃ mode with 30 to 65 dB, and the TE₂₂ mode with 30 to 70 dB.     

The mean spherical model in a random external field and the replica method

We provide a quick elementary solution of the mean spherical model in a random external field. This also allows an immediate proof of the self-averaging property of the free energy. We calculate the free energy by means of the replica method, i.e., for any (not necessarily integer) replica numbern, and show that when a phase transition occurs the limits andn 0 are not interchangeable.     

受扰统一混沌系统基于RBF网络的主动滑模控制

针对受外扰影响的统一混沌系统,提出一种基于径向基函数(RBF)神经网络的主动滑模自适应控制方法.将被控系统分解为受控子系统和自由子系统,利用主动控制思想,建立受控子系统在目标点处的状态误差的可控标准型,设计出一个结构简单的基于滑模趋近率在线参数整定的RBF函数神经网络控制器,并且基于Lyapunov稳定性理论分析了系统的稳定性.仿真结果表明该控制器对系统参数突变和外部干扰具有鲁棒性,同时抑制了抖振. 关键词： 统一混沌系统 主动控制 滑模控制 RBF网络     

基于光子晶体的三端口分插复用器

提出了一种新的基于对称全反射壁的光子晶体分插复用器,与其他类型的光子晶体复用器相比,无需对介质柱进行复杂的调节即可实现100%上/下载,方便实际制造.提出的理论模型与基于二维时域有限差分(FDTD)法的数值实验相当吻合,显示出这种器件具有优良的上/下载性能.     

一种新的奇偶非线性相干态的位相统计性质

根据Pegg-Barnett位相定义, 计算了一种新的奇偶非线性相干态的位相概率分布函数, 利用数值计算方法研究了它们的位相统计性质. 数值计算结果表明：新的奇偶非线性相干态的位相特性与通常奇偶相干态的位相特性截然不同.     

Dielectric properties of KDP-type ferroelectric crystals in the presence of external electric field

Considering external electric field as well as third- and fourth-order phonon anharmonic interaction terms in the pseudospin-lattice coupled mode (PLCM) model Hamiltonian for KDP-type ferroelectrics, expressions for field-dependent shift, width, renormalized soft mode frequency, Curie temperature, dielectric constant and dielectric loss are evaluated. For the calculation, method of statistical double-time temperature-dependent Green’s function has been used. By fitting model values of physical quantities, temperature and electric field dependences of soft mode frequency, dielectric constant and loss have been calculated which compare well with experimental results of Baumgartner [8] and Choi and Lockwood [9]. Both dielectric constant and loss decrease with electric field.     

THE DESIGNS OF HIGH EFFICIENCY LAUNCHER OF QUASI-OPTICAL MODE CONVERTER FOR HIGH POWER GYROTRONS

A high efficiency launcher of quasi-optical (QO) mode converters for high power gyrotrons have been designed and tested. A helical cut launcher radiates the RF power via its straight cut onto the first phase correcting mirror. The launchers have been optimized for the TE_31.8 mode at 170 GHz and TE_22.6 mode at 110 GHz by numerically optimizing a launcher surface. The helical cut of the launcher has been optimized by taking the taper angle into account. Further more, the amplitude of the surface perturbation have been optimized for improved focusing in order to reduce the diffraction losses at the helical cut. Low power measurement shows a good agreement with the design. High efficiency characteristics of the design have also been calculated on the assumption of frequency downshift due to the thermal expansion of the cavity and stepwise frequency tuning by changing the operating mode. Besides, the possibility of high efficiency launcher for higher mode is discussed, and these results give the prospect to high efficiency long pulse gyrotrons.     

低阈值单横模852nm半导体激光器

基于波导理论、等效折射率方法,设计并制备了非对称波导隔离双沟结构脊型边发射激光器,最终获得了低闽值单基侧模852 nm激光器.详细研究了不同脊型台深宽比参数设计对激光器侧向模式特性的影响规律,实现了腔面未镀膜情况下脊型波导边发射激光器的单基侧模稳定输出,同时激射波长可以精确调谐到852 nm;工作电流达到150 mA,工作温度30℃;斜率效率最高可达0.89 nW/mA,光谱半宽小于1 nm.研究结果为进一步实现超窄线宽激光器提供了参考和借鉴,并且为实现激光器稳定输出提供了实验基础.
