An efficient, economically viable process has been developed for large‐scale preparation of donepezil HCl (1), an anti‐Alzheimer's agent. The process involves the condensation of 5,6‐dimethoxy‐1‐indanone (3) and 1‐benzyl‐4‐piperidinecarboxaldehyde (4) in the presence of alkalimetal carbonates at elevated temperature to yield 1‐benzyl‐4‐[(5,6‐dimethoxy‐1‐indanone)‐2‐yidenyl] methyl piperidine (2), the key intermediate in the synthesis of donepezil. The increasing accumulation of poly(ethylene terephthalate) polymer and poor recycle/disposal practices have made them omnipresent and a major culprit for environmental pollution. Currently global research efforts are focused on primary and secondary recycling of PET waste or through landfills. Chemical recycling of PET through hydrolytic or aminolytic route has been attempted by many researchers however with limited end applications. In our investigations we have used PET waste as a synthon and chemically converted it through a new non-catalytic route into several benzamide derivatives. We have successfully tested them for antistripping performance in bitumen. Our results as elaborated in the paper indicate a comparable performance of the new chemistry products based on PET, to commercially used antistripping chemicals. Our research work thus opens a new route for the recycling of used PET in bituminous concrete roads which may help in alleviating a major environmental problem and disposal of waste PET polymer in large scale. 相似文献

Clay particles with adsorbed asphaltenes, which are commonly found in produced water, have been used as seed particles during precipitation of calcium carbonate in order to determine whether such particles may influence the kinetics of precipitation. The results show that the presence of the adsorbed asphaltenes accelerates the precipitation, and there is also a significant difference between different types of adsorbed asphaltenes. The adsorption of asphaltenes at the seed surface leads to a significant increase in the interfacial tension between the seed surface and the aqueous solution, and calcium carbonate therefore precipitates at the seed surface in order to reduce this high interfacial tension. 相似文献

The effects of vitamin C are determined in the oil-in-water(0/ W) and water-in-oil(W/ 0) microemulsion regions of CTAB/ pentanol/ p-xylene/ H20 system. The addition of Vc joins the O/ W and W/ O areas in the phase diagram and expands the bicontinous region by reducing the lamellar liquid crystal one. The results show that the “ coupling action” of Vc is in fact a structural transition from lamellar crystal to isotropic phase with W/ O, O/ W and bicontinous structure. 相似文献

In this paper, we propose a method to accelerate the crystallisation of nematic liquid crystal mixtures based on crystallisation theory. This method is to hold a nematic liquid crystal sample at a temperature suitable for crystal growth after aging it at a temperature suitable for nucleation. After we specified these temperatures of a nematic liquid crystal mixture using differential scanning calorimetry, we demonstrate that the two-temperature aging method is effective for the crystallisation of other nematic liquid crystal mixtures in which the crystal-liquid crystal transition temperature has so far been undetectable. 相似文献

Conjugation of a hydrophobic poly(2‐oxazoline) bearing tertiary amide groups along its backbone with a short single stranded nucleotide sequence results in an amphiphilic comb/graft copolymer, which organizes in fibrils upon direct dissolution in water. Supported by circular dichroism, atomic force microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and scattering data, fibrils are formed through inter‐ and intramolecular hydrogen bonding between hydrogen accepting amide groups along the polymer backbone and hydrogen donating nucleic acid grafts leading to the formation of hollow tubes.

The development of cancer treatments requires continuous exploration and improvement, in which the discovery of new drugs for the treatment of cancer is still an important pathway. In this study, based on the molecular hybridization strategy, a new structural framework with an N-aryl-N’-arylmethylurea scaffold was designed, and 16 new target compounds were synthesized and evaluated for their antiproliferative activities against four different cancer cell lines A549, MCF7, HCT116, PC3, and human liver normal cell line HL7702. The results have shown seven compounds with 1-methylpiperidin-4-yl groups having excellent activities against all four cancer cell lines, and they exhibited scarcely any activities against HL7702. Among them, compound 9b and 9d showed greatly excellent activity against the four kinds of cells, and the IC50 for MCF7 and PC3 cell lines were even less than 3 μM. 相似文献

Dynamic contrast enhanced (DCE) MRI is a widespread method that has found broad application in the imaging of the musculoskeletal (MSK) system. A common way of analyzing DCE MRI images is to look at the shape of the time-intensity curve (TIC) in pixels selected after drawing an ROI in a highly enhanced area. Although often applied to a number of MSK affections, shape analysis has so far not led to a unanimous correlation between these TIC patterns and pathology. We hypothesize that this might be a result of the subjective ROI approach. To overcome the shortcomings of the ROI approach (sampling error and interuser variability, among others), we created a method for a fast and simple classification of DCE MRI where time-curve enhancement shapes are classified pixel by pixel according to their shape. The result of the analysis is rendered in multislice, 2D color-coded images. With this approach, we show not only that differences on a short distance range of the TIC patterns are significant and cannot be appreciated with a conventional ROI analysis but also that the information that shape maps and conventional standard DCE MRI parameter maps convey are substantially different. 相似文献
