The non-Debye excess heat capacities of binary lithium borate glasses with different Li2O compositions of x = 8, 14 and 22 (mol%) are investigated to understand origin of the boson peak. The low-temperature heat capacities are measured between 2 and 50 K by a relaxation calorimeter. The experimental non-Debye heat capacities with x = 14 is successfully reproduced using the excess vibrational density of states measured by inelastic neutron scattering. This finding indicates that the non-Debye heat capacities of lithium borate glasses originate from the excess vibrational density of states measureable by inelastic neutron scattering. Moreover, it is demonstrated that all of the excess heat capacity spectra lie on a single master curve by the scaling using boson peak temperature and intensity.  相似文献

In this work we study internal band edges localization of acoustic waves in 2-dimensional space obtained by random perturbation of some periodic media. Our results rely on the study of Lifshitz tails for the integrated density of states for random acoustic operators of the form . In this work, we analyze the positive parity of states of odd-A Eu isotopes within the framework of interacting boson fermion model (IBFM-1). The result of an IBFM-1 multilevel calculation with the 3s1/2, 2d3/2, 2d5/2, and 1g7/2 single panicle orbits is reported for the positive parity states of the odd-A Eu isotopes. A/so, an IBM-1 calculation is presented for the low-lying states in the even-even 152-154Sm core nucleus. The energy levels and B(E2) transition probabilities are calculated and compared with the experimental data. It is found that the calculated positive parity low spin state energy spectra of the odd-A Eu isotopes agree quite well with the experimental data.  相似文献

A generalized notion of higher order nonclassicality (in terms of higher order moments) is introduced. Under this generalized framework of higher order nonclassicality, conditions of higher order squeezing and higher order subpoissonian photon statistics are derived. A simpler form of the Hong-Mandel higher order squeezing criterion is derived under this framework by using an operator ordering theorem introduced by us in [A. Pathak, J. Phys. A 33 (2000) 5607]. It is also generalized for multi-photon Bose operators of Brandt and Greenberg. Similarly, condition for higher order subpoissonian photon statistics is derived by normal ordering of higher powers of number operator. Further, with the help of simple density matrices, it is shown that the higher order antibunching (HOA) and higher order subpoissonian photon statistics (HOSPS) are not the manifestation of the same phenomenon and consequently it is incorrect to use the condition of HOA as a test of HOSPS. It is also shown that the HOA and HOSPS may exist even in absence of the corresponding lower order phenomenon. Binomial state, nonlinear first order excited squeezed state (NLESS) and nonlinear vacuum squeezed state (NLVSS) are used as examples of quantum state and it is shown that these states may show higher order nonclassical characteristics. It is observed that the Binomial state which is always antibunched, is not always higher order squeezed and NLVSS which shows higher order squeezing does not show HOSPS and HOA. The opposite is observed in NLESS and consequently it is established that the HOSPS and HOS are two independent signatures of higher order nonclassicality.  相似文献

The optical spectra of quantum dots (QDs) of CdS and ZnSe grown in borosilicate glass by the sol-gel method are obtained and analyzed. It is found that at concentrations of the two semiconductors x<0.06% the emission spectra are due to annihilation of free (internal) excitons in quantum states. The mean size of the quantum dots for a given concentration of ZnSe and CdS is calculated and found to be in good agreement with the X-ray data, and the exciton binding energy is calculated with allowance for the dielectric mismatch between the semiconductor and matrix. It is proposed that this mismatch may be the cause giving rise to the exciton percolation level that is observed in QD arrays for both systems at x>0.06%. The emission from the surface level of CdS QDs in the region ~2.7 eV, formed by the outer atoms with dangling bonds, is observed for the first time, as is the emission band from surface localized states. The relation between the position of the maximum of this band and the energy of the 1S state of the free exciton is established. It is shown that the properties of surface localized states are largely similar to the analogous properties of localized states of 3D (amorphous semiconductors, substitutional solid solutions of substitution) and 2D (quantum wells and superlattices) structures.  相似文献

Resonance-enhanced multiphoton ionization combined with electronic ground state depletion spectroscopy of jet-cooled 2-methylallyl (C4H7) radicals provides vibronic spectra of the 3s and 3p Rydberg states. Analysis of the vibronic structure following one-photon and two-photon excitation of rovibronically cold 2-methylallyl radicals and its isotopologues C4H4D3 and C4D7 reveals transitions to more than 30 vibrational levels in the 3s Rydberg state that are identified and reassigned on the basis of predictions from ab initio calculations and results from pulsed-field-ionization zero-kinetic-energy photoelectron spectra obtained with resonant multiphoton excitation via selected intermediate states. Depletion spectroscopy reveals transitions to short-lived 3p Rydberg states that have a large oscillator strength.  相似文献

We propose the optical generation of W states for three atomic and four atomic qubits, with each qubit trapped in a separate cavity and coupled to the cavity laser. A single-photon source and two classical fields are employed in the present scheme. By encoding the quantum information of each qubit on the degenerate ground states of the atom, we obtain the atomic entanglement that is relatively stable against spontaneous emission. It is demonstrated that the three- and four-atomic W states can be produced deterministically via a proper manipulation of the atom-cavity interaction sequence and time. Generalization of the present scheme to prepare multi-atomic W states is also discussed.  相似文献
