On the retrograde condensation of one or two liquids

This contribution discusses the phenomena of retrograde condensation of one or two liquids. It w1 be shown that both phenomena can be well understood. Also the relation of retrograde condensation of one liquid phase with the condensation behavior of natural gas will be discussed. Similarly that of two liquid phases with multiple phase behavior occurring in low temperature reservoir fluids will be pointed out.     

BOUNDEDNESS OF FRACTIONAL INTEGRALS IN HARDY SPACES WITH NON-DOUBLING MEASURE - In Memory of Professor Sun Yongsheng

Let μ be a Borel measure on Rd which may be non doubling. The only condition that μ must satisfy is μ(Q) ≤ col(Q)n for any cube Q () Rd with sides parallel to the coordinate axes and for some fixed n with 0 ＜ n ≤ d. The purpose of this paper is to obtain a boundedness property of fractional integrals in Hardy spaces H1 (μ).     

Malyngamide X: The First (7R)‐Lyngbic Acid that Connects to a New Tripeptide Backbone from the Thai Sea Hare Bursatella leachii

Malyngamide X ( 1 ), the first (7R)‐lyngbic acid connected to a new tripeptide backbone, was isolated from the Thai sea hare Bursatella leachii. The gross structure of 1 was established on the basis of 1D and 2D NMR and mass spectroscopic data. Combination of the NMR spectroscopic experiments with α‐methoxy‐α‐(trifluoromethyl)phenylacetic acid esters, 2,2,2‐trifluoro‐1‐(9‐anthryl)ethanol chiral solvating agent, and molecular mechanics of 1 and the synthetic molecular fragments allowed us to determine the absolute stereochemistry of all six stereogenic centers without hydrolytic degradation of the compound. Compound 1 displayed moderate cytotoxic, antitubercular, and antimalarial properties.     

Empirical minimization

We investigate the behavior of the empirical minimization algorithm using various methods. We first analyze it by comparing the empirical, random, structure and the original one on the class, either in an additive sense, via the uniform law of large numbers, or in a multiplicative sense, using isomorphic coordinate projections. We then show that a direct analysis of the empirical minimization algorithm yields a significantly better bound, and that the estimates we obtain are essentially sharp. The method of proof we use is based on Talagrand's concentration inequality for empirical processes. Research partially supported by NSF under award DMS-0434393. 无界区域抛物方程自然边界元方法

本文应用自然边界元方法求解无界区域抛物型初边值问题。首先将控制方程对时间进行离散化,得到关于时间步长离散化的椭圆型问题。通过Fourier展开,导出相应问题的自然积分方程和Poisson积分公式。研究了自然积分算子的性质,并讨论了自然积分方程的数值解法,最后给出数值例子。从而解决了抛物型问题的自然边界归化和自然边界元方法。     

Manganese(II) complexes with diethylamine in aqueous solutions

Interaction between MnCl₂ and diethylamine (DEA) in aqueous solutions has been studied by UV, IR, and EPR spectroscopy as part of the design and research program on models of natural photosystems. The composition of the precipitate for comparable concentrations of reagents and solute oxygen has been investigated. Mn(II) was found to be oxidized with oxygen to give MnO₂·H₂O as a precipitate. In the solution over the precipitate, Mn(III) complexes with DEA are formed; the complex molecule has four and six amine molecules in the coordination sphere.
