Recent theoretical work has not led to a consensus regarding the nature of the low-energy E1 strength in the 40,44,48Ca isotopes, for which high-resolution (γ,γ′) data exist. Here we revisit this problem using the first-order quasiparticle random-phase approximation (QRPA) and different interactions. First we examine all even Ca isotopes with N=14–40. All isotopes are predicted to undergo dipole transitions at low energy, of large and comparable isoscalar strength but of varying E1 strength. Provided a moderate and uniform energetic shift is introduced to the results, QRPA with the Gogny D1S interaction is able to account for the (γ,γ′) data, because, up to N=28, it yields a rather pure isoscalar oscillation. A neutron-skin oscillation is anticipated for N?30. This contradicts existing predictions that 44,48Ca develop a neutron-skin mode. Which theoretical result is correct cannot be resolved conclusively using the available data. We propose that alpha-scattering, possibly followed by an electroexcitation experiment, could resolve the situation and thereby help to improve the different models aspiring to describe reliably the low-energy dipole strength of nuclei. 相似文献

A tubular array of TiO2-nanotubes on a Ti substrate was used as a support for an Ag sputter-deposited layer intended for surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) investigations. Composite samples of Ag/TiO2-nanotube/Ti were studied with the aid of scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Auger electron spectroscopy (AES) to reveal their characteristic morphological and chemical features. Raman spectra of pyridine (as a probe molecule) were measured at different cathodic potentials ranging from −0.2 down to −1.2 V after the pyridine had been adsorbed on the TiO2-nanotube/Ti substrates covered with the Ag deposit. In addition, SERS spectra on a bulk electrochemically-roughened Ag reference substrate, were also measured.The SERS activity of the composite samples was strongly dependent on the amount of Ag deposit and, in some cases, was even higher than that for the Ag reference substrate. The SERS intensity vs. electrode potential dependences measured were interpreted in terms of the modified electronic structure of the Ag deposits due to the interaction of the Ag clusters with the TiO2-nanotube/Ti substrate. 相似文献

We report polarized neutron scattering studies of spin-wave excitations and spin fluctuations in the lattice antiferromagnet KFe3(OH)6(SO4)2 (jarosite). Inelastic polarized neutron scattering measurements at 10 K on a single crystal sample reveal two spin gaps, associated with in-plane and out-of-plane excitations. The polarization analysis of quasi-elastic scattering at 67 K shows in-plane spin fluctuations with XY symmetry, consistent with the disappearance of the in-plane gap above the Néel temperature . Our results suggest that jarosite is a promising candidate for studying the 2D XY universality class in magnetic systems. 相似文献

Fusion cross sections are extracted for the 7Li$ + $28Si system, via reaction cross section and transfer measurements at sub- and near-barrier energies ( E
lab = 5.7 to 14MeV). The energy evolution of transfer to reaction cross section ratios is determined with the aid of CDCC calculations,
which subsequently allows the deduction of fusion cross sections at sub- and near-barrier energies. It is shown that fusion
can be well represented in a BPM context. Fusion cross sections are compared for the systems 7Li$ + $28Si and 6Li$ + $28Si, the latter studied previously, and are found to exhibit different strengths. Last, the direct channels determined at 13MeV,

Strain-compensated Ge/Si0.15Ge0.85 multiple quantum wells were grown on an Si0.1>Ge0.9 virtual substrate using ultrahigh vacuum chemical vapor deposition technology on an n+-Si(001) substrate. Photoluminescence measurements were performed at room temperature, and the quantum confinement effect of the direct-bandgap transitions of a Ge quantum well was observed, which is in good agreement with the calculated results. The luminescence mechanism was discussed by recombination rate analysis and the temperature dependence of the luminescence spectrum. 相似文献

Neutron scattering has been used to measure the charge and spin structure in the YBa2Cu3O6+x superconductors. Incommensurate static charge ordering is found at low doping levels while only charge fluctuations are found at higher doping. The spin structure is complex with both a commensurate resonance and incommensurate structure observed at low temperatures. The Mueller matrix solution of the vector radiative transfer equation with time dependence is derived in this paper. It is applied to simulation of polarimetric bistatic scattering from a layer of non-uniformly oriented, random non-spherical scatterers when a Gaussian plane pulse is incident upon. Co-polarized and cross-polarized bistatic scattering are numerically calculated. The pulse echoes are compared with the incidence, and demonstrate its functional dependence on the physical parameters of random medium, such as spatial orientation and fractional volume of scatterers, incidence angle and polarization, the layer depth and others. 相似文献

A current based hybrid method (HM) is proposed which combines the method
of moment (MOM) with the Kirchhoff approximation (KA) for the analysis
of scattering interaction between a two-dimensional (2D) infinitely
long conducting target with arbitrary cross section and a
one-dimensional (1D) Gaussian rough surface. The electromagnetic
scattering region in the HM is split into KA region and MOM region.
The electric field integral equation (EFIE) in MOM region (target)
is derived, the computational time of the HM depends mainly on the
number of unknowns of the target. The bistatic scattering
coefficient for the infinitely long cylinder above the rough surface
with Gaussian roughness spectrum is calculated, and the numerical
results are compared and verified with those obtained by the
conventional MOM, which shows the high efficiency of the HM.
Finally, the influence of the size, location of the target, the rms
height and correlation length of the rough surface on the bistatic
scattering coefficient with different polarizations is discussed in
