In this paper we develop a numerical method for computing higher order local approximations of center manifolds near steady states in Hamiltonian systems. The underlying system is assumed to be large in the sense that a large sparse Jacobian at the equilibrium occurs, for which only a linear solver and a low-dimensional invariant subspace is available. Our method combines this restriction from linear algebra with the requirement that the center manifold is parametrized by a symplectic mapping and that the reduced equation preserves the Hamiltonian form. Our approach can be considered as a special adaptation of a general method from Numer. Math. 80 (1998) 1-38 to the Hamiltonian case such that approximations of the reduced Hamiltonian are obtained simultaneously. As an application we treat a finite difference system for an elliptic problem on an infinite strip. 相似文献

In this paper, we discuss modelling and analysis of hybrid systems with physical interaction dynamics. Such systems are typically considered complex and they are modelled using abstractions. Abstractions may, however, unintentionally exclude critical details, leading to partial or false results. Therefore, we study here use of a particle system in modelling and analysis. The novelty of the particle system is that it is designed to reveal interaction dynamics as emergent dynamics; thus, supporting analysis of complex and intricate interaction dynamics with acceptable modelling effort. As the main contribution, we formalize the particle system, and use it to model and analyze hybrid systems, both mechanical and biological, with nontrivial interaction dynamics. 相似文献

Shaping command input or preshaping is used for reducing system oscillation in motion control. Desired systems inputs are altered so that the system finishes the requested move without residual oscillation. This technique, developed by N.C. Singer and W.P. Seering, is used for example in the aerospace field, in particular in flexible structure control. This paper presents the study of ZV shaper for explicit fractional derivative systems (generalized derivative systems). By continuing the probabilistic approach of Deaconu et al. (2001), we derive a stochastic particle approximation for the Smoluchowski coagulation equations. A convergence result for this model is obtained. Under quite stringent hypothesis we obtain a central limit theorem associated with our convergence. In spite of these restrictive technical assumptions, the rate of convergence result is interesting because it is the first obtained in this direction and seems to hold numerically under weaker hypothesis. By using microlocal analysis, the propagation of weak singularities in Cauchy problems for quasilinear thermoelastic systems in three space variables are investigated. First, paradifferential operators are employed to decouple the quasilinear thermoelastic systems. Second, by investigating the decoupled hyperbolic-parabolic systems and using the classical bootstrap argument, the property of finite propagation speeds of singularities in Cauchy problems for the quasilinear thermoelastic systems is obtained.
