氦氖激光纵模脉冲检测及其数据处理

在分析常用低噪声快速光电探测器的基础上,选择PIN光电二极管来探测氦氖激光纵模脉冲。通过合理设计降低前放电路的噪声,根据被测脉冲频率设计探测电路的带宽,达到提高信噪比的目的。同时在后端的数据处理中,根据激光脉冲的波形函数,利用曲线拟合的方法来进一步去除测量中的各种噪声,从而准确地了解脉冲的形状、相位等信息,大大地提高了在现有硬件设备条件下测量的准确性,减小了测量误差。     

Prophet inequalities for cost of observation stopping problems

Comparisons are made between the expected gain of a prophet (an observer with complete foresight) and the maximal expected gain of a gambler (using only non-anticipating stopping times) observing a sequence of independent, uniformly bounded random variables where a non-negative fixed cost is charged for each observation. Sharp universal bounds are obtained under various restrictions on the cost and the length of the sequence. For example, it is shown for X₁, X₂, … independent, [0, 1]-valued random variables that for all c ≥ 0 and all n ≥ 1 that E(max_{1 ≤ j ≤ n}(X_j − jc)) − sup_{t Tn} E(X_t − tc) ≤ 1/e, where T_n is the collection of all stopping times t which are less than or equal to n almost surely.

Efimov's Effect in a Model of Perturbation Theory of the Essential Spectrum

A model operator similar to the energy operator of a system with a nonconserved number of particles is studied. The essential spectrum of the operator is described, and under some natural conditions on the parameters it is shown that there are infinitely many eigenvalues lying below the bottom of the essential spectrum.     

On Selfsimilar Jordan Curves on the Plane

We study the attractors of a finite system of planar contraction similarities S _j (j=1,...,n) satisfying the coupling condition: for a set {x ₀,...,x _n} of points and a binary vector (s ₁,...,s _n ), called the signature, the mapping S _j takes the pair {x ₀,x _n} either into the pair {x _j-1,x _j } (if s _j =0) or into the pair {x _j , x _j-1} (if s _j =1). We describe the situations in which the Jordan property of such attractor implies that the attractor has bounded turning, i.e., is a quasiconformal image of an interval of the real axis.     

HIGH RESOLUTION SPECTROSCOPIC STUDY OF THE LOCAL MODE VIBRATIONAL STATES OF SILANE

The stretching vibrational overtone bands (3000), (4000) and (5000) of silane are recorded on a Fourier transform spectrometer with a specially made multipass cell at a resolution of 0.01 cm-1. The spectra show a striking symmetrical top rotational structure, which has been predicted as the limiting case of a spherical top exhibiting local mode behavior, and provides an excellent chance to study the local mode rotational structures in detail. This article reviews the interpretation and analysis of the spectra in both local mode and normal mode pictures. The intramolecular dynamics following initial single bond excitation is also discussed.     

Inertial effects of hypoelastic cylindrical bar of grade zero under simple extension of constant velocity

In this paper an analytical solution for finite deformation at the simple extension of a hypoelastic cylindrical bar of grade zero under constant velocity is obtained. It is found that the difference between stress-strain curves at different tensile velocities is only due to the inertial terms in the solution. The axial stress due to inertia increases with the square of ratio of tensile velocities.     

Contrast and sensitivity of the vibration fringes in time-averaged electronic speckle-pattern interferometry: effect of variations of force level

The time averaged frame subtraction technique is improved by subtracting two Bessel fringe patterns at two different force levels. The technique enables significant enhancement of fringe contrast and increased measurement sensitivity. The contrast and sensitivity of the fringes obtained at different force ratios are investigated. Both theoretical and experimental results are presented.
