This paper investigates mixed free and forced convection of non-Newtonian fluids from a vertical isothermal plate embedded
in a homogenous porous medium. A mathematical model is developed based on the modified Darcy's law and boundary-layer approximations,
and the exact similarity solution is obtained as well as an integral solution. These two solutions agree within 3% for aiding
flows and 10% for opposing flows. It is found that, non-Newtonian characteristics of fluids have appreciable influences on

The computation of dispersive site energy shifts due to van der Waals interaction (London dispersion forces) was combined with mixed quantum–classical methodology to calculate the linear optical absorption spectra of large pheophorbide a (Pheo) dendrimers. The computed spectra agreed very well with the measurements considering three characteristic optical features occurring with increasing aggregate size: a strong line broadening, a redshift, and a low‐energy shoulder. The improved mixed quantum–classical methodology is considered a powerful tool in investigating molecular aggregates. 相似文献

Fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) is a major process in oil refineries to produce gasoline and base chemicals from crude oil fractions. The spatial distribution and acidity of zeolite aggregates embedded within the 50–150 μm‐sized FCC spheres heavily influence their catalytic performance. Single‐molecule fluorescence‐based imaging methods, namely nanometer accuracy by stochastic chemical reactions (NASCA) and super‐resolution optical fluctuation imaging (SOFI) were used to study the catalytic activity of sub‐micrometer zeolite ZSM‐5 domains within real‐life FCC catalyst particles. The formation of fluorescent product molecules taking place at Brønsted acid sites was monitored with single turnover sensitivity and high spatiotemporal resolution, providing detailed insight in dispersion and catalytic activity of zeolite ZSM‐5 aggregates. The results point towards substantial differences in turnover frequencies between the zeolite aggregates, revealing significant intraparticle heterogeneities in Brønsted reactivity. 相似文献

To improve the analysis of pesticides in complex food matrices with economic importance, alternative chromatographic techniques, such as supercritical fluid chromatography, can be used. Supercritical fluid chromatography has barely been applied for pesticide analysis in food matrices. In this paper, an analytical method using supercritical fluid chromatography coupled to a photodiode array detection has been established for the first time for the quantification of pesticides in papaya and avocado. The extraction of methyl parathion, atrazine, ametryn, carbofuran, and carbaryl was performed through the quick, easy, cheap, effective, rugged, and safe methodology. The method was validated using papaya and avocado samples. For papaya, the correlation coefficient values were higher than 0.99; limits of detection and quantification ranged from 130–380 and 220–640 μg/kg, respectively; recovery values ranged from 72.8–94.6%; precision was lower than 3%. For avocado, limit of detection values were ?450 μg/kg; precision was lower than 11%; recoveries ranged from 50.0–94.2%. Method feasibility was tested for lime, banana, mango, and melon samples. Our results demonstrate that the proposed method is applicable to methyl parathion, atrazine, ametryn, and carbaryl, toxics pesticides used worldwide. The methodology presented in this work could be applicable to other fruits. 相似文献

A high‐throughput, rapid, sensitive, environmentally friendly, and economical supercritical fluid chromatography with triple quadruple mass spectrometry method was established and validated for the first time to determine a cerebral stroke treatment drug named 3‐n‐butylphthalide in dog plasma. Plasma samples were prepared by protein precipitation with methanol and the analytes were eluted on an ACQUITY UPC2TM HSS‐C18 SB column (3 × 100 mm, 1.8 μm) maintained at 50°C. The mobile phase comprised supercritical carbon dioxide/methanol (90:10, v/v) at a flow rate of 1.5 mL/min, the compensation solvent was methanol at a flow rate of 0.2 mL/min and the total run time was 1.5 min per sample. The detection was carried out on a tandem mass spectrometer with an electrospray ionization source. Calibration curves were linear over the concentration range of 1.02–1021.00 ng/mL (r2 ≥ 0.993) with the lower limit of quantification of 1.02 ng/mL. The intra‐ and inter‐day precision values were below 15% and the accuracy was from 97.90 to 103.70% at all quality control levels. The method was suitable for a pharmacokinetic study of 3‐n‐butylphthalide in beagle dogs. 相似文献

The coating properties of a novel water stationary phase used in capillary supercritical fluid chromatography were investigated. The findings confirm that increasing the length or internal diameter of the type 316 stainless‐steel column used provides a linear increase in the volume of stationary phase present. Under normal operating conditions, results indicate that about 4.9 ± 0.5 μL/m of water phase is deposited uniformly inside of a typical 250 μm internal diameter 316 stainless‐steel column, which translates to an area coverage of about 6.3 ± 0.5 nL/mm2 regardless of dimension. Efforts to increase the stationary phase volume present showed that etching the stainless‐steel capillary wall using hydrofluoric acid was very effective for this. For instance, after five etching cycles, this volume doubled inside of both the type 304 and the type 316 stainless‐steel columns examined. This in turn doubled analyte retention, while maintaining good peak shape and column efficiency. Overall, 316 stainless‐steel columns were more resistant to etching than 304 stainless‐steel columns. Results indicate that this approach could be useful to employ as a means of controlling the volume of water stationary phase that can be established inside of the stainless‐steel columns used with this supercritical fluid chromatography technique. 相似文献

The potential of enhanced‐fluidity liquid chromatography, a subcritical chromatography technique, in mixed‐mode hydrophilic interaction/strong cation‐exchange separations is explored, using amino acids as analytes. The enhanced‐fluidity liquid mobile phases were prepared by adding liquefied CO2 to methanol/water mixtures, which increases the diffusivity and decreases the viscosity of the mixture. The addition of CO2 to methanol/water mixtures resulted in increased retention of the more polar amino acids. The “optimized” chromatographic performance (achieving baseline resolution of all amino acids in the shortest amount of time) of these methanol/water/CO2 mixtures was compared to traditional acetonitrile/water and methanol/water liquid chromatography mobile phases. Methanol/water/CO2 mixtures offered higher efficiencies and resolution of the ten amino acids relative to the methanol/water mobile phase, and decreased the required isocratic separation time by a factor of two relative to the acetonitrile/water mobile phase. Large differences in selectivity were also observed between the enhanced‐fluidity and traditional liquid mobile phases. A retention mechanism study was completed, that revealed the enhanced‐fluidity mobile phase separation was governed by a mixed‐mode retention mechanism of hydrophilic interaction/strong cation‐exchange. On the other hand, separations with acetonitrile/water and methanol/water mobile phases were strongly governed by only one retention mechanism, either hydrophilic interaction or strong cation exchange, respectively. 相似文献

A highly efficient catalytic system composed of a bifunctional polyacrylonitrile fiber (PANF‐PA[BnBr]) and a metal chloride was employed to produce 5‐hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) from sucrose in mixed‐aqueous systems. The promoter of PANF‐PA[BnBr] incorporates protonic acid groups that promote the hydrolysis of the glycosidic bond to convert sucrose into glucose and fructose, and then catalyzes fructose dehydration to HMF, while the ammonium moiety may promote synergetically with the metal chloride the isomerization of glucose to fructose and transfer HMF from the aqueous to the organic phase. The detailed characterization by elemental analysis, FTIR spectroscopy, and SEM confirmed the rangeability of the fiber promoter during the modification and utilization processes. Excellent results in terms of high yield (72.8 %) of HMF, superior recyclability (6 cycles) of the process, and effective scale‐up and simple separation procedures of the catalytic system were obtained. Moreover, the prominent features (high strength, good flexibility, etc.) of the fibers are very attractive for fix‐bed reactor. 相似文献
