Schemes for converting photonic polarized‐entangled Knill–Laflamme–Milburn (KLM) states to Greenberger–Horne–Zeilinger (GHZ) states are proposed using weak cross‐Kerr nonlinearity and X‐quadrature homodyne measurement. Analyses show that the two‐qubit (Bell state) and three‐qubit conversion cases have very high fidelities and close‐to‐unity probabilities. The conversion processes are robust against photon loss. The schemes linking these two entangled states may be helpful to the study of quantum information processing based on them. 相似文献

Quantum information capsule and information delocalization by entanglement in multiple-qubit systems
Where do entangled multiple-qubit systems store information? For information injected into a qubit, this question is nontrivial and interesting since the entanglement delocalizes the information. So far, a common picture is that of a qubit and its purification partner sharing the information quantum mechanically. Here, we introduce a new picture of a single qubit in the correlation space, referred to as quantum information capsule (QIC), confining the information perfectly. This picture is applicable for the entangled multiple-qubit system in an arbitrary state. Unlike the partner picture, in the QIC picture, by swapping the single-body state, leaving other subsystems untouched, the whole information can be retrieved out of the system. In this work we consider bipartite noisy bound entangled states with positive partial transpose, that is, such a state can be written as a convex combination of an edge state and a separable state. In particular, we present schemes to construct distinct classes of noisy bound entangled states which satisfy the range criterion. As a consequence of the present study we also identify noisy bound entangled states which do not satisfy the range criterion. Understanding electron correlation is crucial for developing new concepts in electronic structure theory, especially for strongly correlated electrons. We compare and apply two different approaches to quantify correlation contributions of orbitals: Quantum Information Theory (QIT) based on a Density Matrix Renormalization Group (DMRG) calculation and the Method of Increments (MoI). Although both approaches define very different correlation measures, we show that they exhibit very similar patterns when being applied to a polyacetelene model system. These results suggest one may deduce from one to the other, allowing the MoI to leverage from QIT results by screening correlation contributions with a cheap (“sloppy”) DMRG with a reduced number of block states. Or the other way around, one may select the active space in DMRG from cheap one-body MoI calculations. 相似文献

In this paper, we propose a scheme for generating multipartite entanglement of distant four-level atoms separately trapped in individual cavities, each of which is coupled to a non-Markovian reservoir. The entanglement of atoms is generated by measuring the photons leaking from cavities. In non-Markovian environments, we derive dynamical evolution of the entanglement and obtain the condition of generating the long-living multipartite maximally entangled state. When the condition is not satisfied, by introducing a time-varying coupling strength, the maximal multipartite entangled state can also be generated. 相似文献

We propose to implement a quantum switch scheme for coupling highly detuned superconducting qubits connected by a gap-tunable bridge qubit. By modulating the frequency of the bridge qubit, it can be used as a coupler to switch on/off and adjust the coupling strength between the initially non-interaction qubits. It is shown that the proposals of quantum information transfer and quantum entangled gate between two highly detuned qubits can be implemented with high fidelity. Moreover, we extend the case of coupling the switch to multiple qubits for the generation of W states. The advantages of our scheme are that it eliminates the need for tuning the gaps of the qubits and the cross-talk interaction is greatly suppressed. The influence of decoherence and parameter variation is also investigated by numerical simulation, which suggests that the present scheme is feasible in current experiment. 相似文献
