Atom transfer radical emulsion polymerization of styrene using PEG‐Cl as macroinitiator under microwave irradiation was successfully conducted and monodispersed nanoparticles were prepared. The PEG‐Cl macroinitiator was synthesized, and confirmed by FTIR spectrum. The structure of the PEG‐b‐PSt diblock copolymer was characterized by 1H‐NMR and the number of styrene unit in the diblock copolymer was calculated. The morphology, size, and size distribution of the nanoparticles were characterized by transmission electron microscope (TEM) and photon correlation spectroscopy (PCS). The effects of the ratio of macroinitiator and monomer, the ratio of catalyst and macroinitiator on the size and size distribution of nanoparticles were investigated. It was found that the diameters of PEG‐b‐PSt nanoparticles prepared under microwave irradiation were smaller (<50 nm) and more monodispersed than those prepared with conventional heating. Moreover, with the increasing of the ratio of St/PEG‐Cl, the hydrodynamic diameters (Dh) of the nanoparticles increased and the poly index decreased, both Dh and poly index of the nanoparticles prepared under microwave irradiation were smaller then those prepared with conventional heating; as the concentration of catalyst increased, the Dh of the nanoparticles decreased and the poly index of the nanoparticles increased. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. This study reports the characteristics of gel‐type dye‐sensitized solar cells (DSSCs), fabricated with gel‐type electrolyte containing poly‐1,1′‐(methylenedi‐4,1‐phenylene)bismaleimide (PBMI), or poly‐1,1′‐(3,3′‐dimethyl‐1,1′‐biphenyl‐4,4′‐diyl)bismaleimide (PDBBMI), or poly‐N,N′‐(4‐methyl‐1,3‐phenylene)bismaleimide (PMPBMI), prepared by in situ polymerization of the corresponding monomer without an initiator at 30 °C. Incorporating 0.3 wt % content of exfoliated alkyl‐modified nanomica (EAMNM) into PBMI‐gelled electrolyte leads to higher short‐circuit current density (Jsc = 17.14 mA cm?2) and efficiency (η = 7.02%) than that of neat PBMI‐gel electrolyte (Jsc = 15.32 mA cm?2, η = 6.41%). Incorporating 0.3 wt % EAMNM into PBMI‐gelled electrolyte results in remarkably stable device performance under continuous light soaking under one sun (100 mW cm?2) at 55 °C. The efficiency of DSSCs based on PBMI/0.3 wt % EAMNM‐gelled electrolyte drops by only 1.7% (η = 6.93%) after 500 h of continuous light soaking. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Biocompatible fluorescent polymeric nanoparticles (FPNs) are promising luminescent probes in cellular bioimaging, while the fabrication of high‐quantum‐yield FPN using nonconjugated heterochain polymers derived from step‐growth polymerization is still in its infancy. Herein, the nonconjugated polyarylene ether nitrile (PEN) is endowed with aggregation‐induced emission (AIE) feature by incorporation of an AIEgen named of 1,2‐di(4‐hydroxyphenyl)‐1,2‐diphenylethene into macromolecular backbone. Furthermore, the AIE‐active PEN is crosslinked into water soluble fluorescent nanospheres showing good biocompatibility and strong emission ≈480 nm with a quantum yield of 21% in the presence of Ca2+, which allows the successful bioimaging of cancer cells. Due to the facile fabrication of FPNs and their effective bioimaging performance, the current work will open the way for the biomedical applications of various high performance polyarylene ethers.  相似文献

We studied the electrochemical properties of gold nanoparticles (GNPs) and their complexes with proteins using square-wave voltammetry. Effect of the nanoparticle size and detection procedure was explored upon the oxidation of GNPs on a glassy carbon electrode (GCE). For pre-characterized GNPs of 13, 35 and 78 nm diameter, the oxidation peak potential was + 0.98, + 1.03 and + 1.06 V vs. Ag/AgCl, respectively. The conjugation of GNPs with four different proteins was verified by UV–Vis spectroscopy and atomic force microscopy indicated the formation of protein shells around GNPs. This process hampered the oxidation of GNPs on bare GCE causing pronounced decrease in the current response by an average factor of 72. GCE modification with carbon nanotubes weakly influenced the sensitivity of GNP detection but resulted in a 14.5-fold signal increase averaged for all GNP–protein complexes. The acidic dissolution and electrodeposition of GNPs or their complexes adsorbed on GCE allowed superior signal amplification directly proportional to nanoparticle size. The results are useful for the optimization of voltammetric analysis of GNP–protein complexes and can be extended to the characterization of other metal nanostructures and their complexes with biological components.  相似文献

建立了只需一步操作即可完成在抛光洗净的金微盘阵列电极上进行多孔化处理和钯纳米粒子修饰的方法。通过对金微盘电极连续施加3个电位,分别实现金的氧化、金的还原和电沉积钯纳米粒子。利用扫描电镜和电化学方法监控制备过程,得到的结果证实了本方法的可行性和有效性。考察了溶液pH值与氧化时间对结果的影响,在磷酸盐缓冲溶液(pH7)中氧化90s,得到的修饰电极的电化学活性面积是裸电极的42倍。同时,由于整个过程不需要更换溶液,且只需开启一次仪器,大大简化了实验操作。将制备的修饰电极用于溶解氧的电催化,对溶解氧的灵敏度达到0.1mA·L/(cm2·mg),优于文献报道结果。  相似文献

Pyrrolo[2,3-d]pyrimidine derivatives possessing different sterically-hindered end-groups at position 7 of the heterocycle were studied and compared with respect to nanoaggregate formation ability by the reprecipitation method in aqueous solutions. The emergence of nanoaggregates with an increasing water fraction in THF/water mixture was traced by observing sudden changes in spectral and transient fluorescence dynamics accompanied by fluorescence efficiency turn-on. The aggregation induced emission with a maximal 20-fold emission efficiency enhancement was obtained. Tuning of the nanoaggregates sizes from about 50 nm to 600 nm by increasing the THF/water ratio was revealed by electron microscopy. Almost perfect spherical shapes of the nanoaggregates and their structureless fluorescence bands similar to those of their neat amorphous films suggested an amorphous-like nature of the pyrrolo[2,3-d]pyrimidine-based nanoparticles.  相似文献
