We investigate theoretically the formation of a vortex lattice in
a superfluid two-spin component Fermi gas in a rotating harmonic trap, in a BCS-type
regime of condensed non-bosonic pairs.
Our analytical solution of the superfluid
hydrodynamic equations, both for the 2D BCS equation of state
and for the 3D unitary quantum gas, predicts that the vortex free gas is
subject to a dynamic instability for fast enough rotation.
With a numerical solution of the full
time dependent BCS equations in a 2D model, we confirm the existence of this dynamic
instability and we show that it leads to the formation of a regular pattern
of quantum vortices in the gas. 相似文献

In this work we give a consistent picture of the thermodynamic properties of
bosons in the Mott insulating phase when loaded adiabatically into
one-dimensional optical lattices. We find a crucial dependence of the
temperature in the optical lattice on the doping level of the Mott
insulator. In the undoped case, the temperature is of the order of the large
onsite
Hubbard interaction. In contrast, at a finite doping level the
temperature jumps almost immediately to the order of the small hopping
parameter. These two situations are investigated on the one hand by considering
limiting cases like the atomic limit and the case of free fermions. On the
other hand, they are examined using a quasi-particle conserving continuous
unitary transformation extended by an approximate thermodynamics for

Critical comparisons are drawn between the basic electrical properties of semiconductor/metal, semiconductor/liquid, and semiconductor/conducting polymer junctions. A theoretical model is developed to describe the basic current-voltage properties of semiconductor contacts, with emphasis on the contrasts between ideal and observed behavior. Using the concepts from this model, the characteristics of a variety of semiconductor contacts are evaluated. A new experimental approach is proposed for the evaluation of liquid junction potentials and single ion activities. Neither of these quantities can be experimentally measured without assumption. Furthermore, they are concentration dependent but without clearly defined functional relationships. Thus, a given assumption may be satisfactory to obtain these quantities at a given concentration, but will fail at another concentration. It is the intent of this paper to establish a functional relationship between the ratio of activity coefficients and the ionic strength, through which the liquid junction potentials may be computed, as well as the pH values at moderate ionic strengths (<1.0 m). The various end‐to‐end distances of four‐junction polymers are investigated. The sizes of the different kinds of equal length branches and the backbone of two different polymers, with either nine or eleven branches, are estimated by means of both renormalization‐group and MC calculations. The comparisons of first‐order ε = 4 − d predictions with the MC results are satisfactory. The same trends are present in both techniques. The excluded‐volume interactions from additional branches further expand the various parts of the chains so that internal branches are larger than external ones. The branch ratios in the eleven‐branch case are expanded even more than the corresponding ratios of the nine‐branch polymer.

We have studied dynamics of Josephson vortices in strongly coupled long Josephson junctions stack, such as an intrinsic Josephson junction, by numerical simulations based on coupled sine–Gordon equations considering a periodic pinning potential. In this report, we investigate flux-flow oscillators induced two types of pinning potentials. One is magnetic periodic pinning potential, the other is periodic bias currents. Our results demonstrate that the periodic pinning potential can develop the generated power of flux-flow oscillator in certain condition. 相似文献

A semilinear parabolic problem is considered in a thin 3‐D star‐shaped junction that consists of several thin curvilinear cylinders that are joined through a domain (node) of diameter The purpose is to study the asymptotic behavior of the solution uε as ε→0, ie, when the star‐shaped junction is transformed in a graph. In addition, the passage to the limit is accompanied by special intensity factors and in nonlinear perturbed Robin boundary conditions. We establish qualitatively different cases in the asymptotic behavior of the solution depending on the value of the parameters {αi}and {βi}. Using the multiscale analysis, the asymptotic approximation for the solution is constructed and justified as the parameter ε→0. Namely, in each case, we derive the limit problem (ε=0)on the graph with the corresponding Kirchhoff transmission conditions (untypical in some cases) at the vertex, define other terms of the asymptotic approximation and prove appropriate asymptotic estimates that justify these coupling conditions at the vertex, and show the impact of the local geometric heterogeneity of the node and physical processes in the node on some properties of the solution. 相似文献
