The nucleon excitation spectrum remains poorly known, with the masses, widths, EM couplings and even existence of many states not well established. A program of experiments using meson photoproduction off the nucleon is being carried out to improve this situation. A new large acceptance recoil polarimeter has been developed by the Edinburgh group for use in such reactions with the Crystal Ball at MAMI. This work summarizes the procedure used to measure recoil polarization with the new device and presents some preliminary results for the double polarization observable C_x in the reaction γp→pπ~0, compared to the current partial wave analysis.  相似文献

The present focus of the CBELSA/TAPS experiment is on meson-photoproduction off the nucleon using polarized photons and polarized targets. Here first preliminary results on the reactions γ~→p~→→ pπ~0 and γ~→p~→pη for both circularly and linearly polarized photons and a longitudinally polarized target are presented. Preliminary results for the beam asymmetry Σ and the double polarization observable G have been extracted for both reactions using the linear polarization data. From the circular polarization data the observable E has been determined. Due to the near 4π angular coverage of the detector system these results cover almost the full solid angle.  相似文献

By employing the perturbative QCD (pQCD) factorization approach, we calculate some important next- to-leading-order (NLO) contributions to the two-body charmless hadronic decays B^+ →ρ^+η(') and B^0 → ρ^0(ω, φ)η('), induced by the vertex QCD corrections, the quark-loops as well as the chromo-magnetic penguins. From the numerical results and phenomenological analysis we find that (a) for B^± → ρ^±η(') (B^0 → ρ^0(ω, φ)η(')decays, the partial NLO contributions to branching ratios are small (large) in magnitude; and (b) the pQCD predictions for ACP^dir(B^± → ρ^±η(')) are consistent with the data, while the predicted .ACP(B^0 → ρ^0(ω)η(')) are generally large in magnitude and could be tested by the forthcoming LHCb experiments.  相似文献

The Breit interaction contains singular terms which may lead to an instability in quark-antiquark bound state calculations. We regularize the Breit interaction by multiplying the singular terms in momentum space by the form factor μ^2/(q^2+μ^2) such that the interaction is not singular at the origin and the intermediate-and long-range parts of the interaction remain unchanged. The singular terms in the Breit potential find their stable contributions in the calculations after being multiplied by the form factor with different powers. Such a regularized Breit potential with a linear and a relativistically corrected confining potential are applied to the study of qq^- bound states. The spectra for most familiar mesons are consistently obtained and agree well with the experimental data.  相似文献

The reactions π-p →ηn and γ'p →ηP are investigated within a dynamical coupledJchannels model of meson production reactions in the nucleon resonance region. The meson-baryon channels included are πN, ηN, π△, σN, and pN. The direct wphotoproduction process is studied within a formalism based on a chiral constituent quark model approach, complemented with a one-gluon-exchange mechanism, to take into account the breakdown of the SU(6)0(3) symmetry. In the models search, the following known nucleon resonances are embodied: Sll (1535), $11(1650), Pll (1440), Pl1(1710), P13(1720), D13(1520), D13(1700), D15(1675), and F15(1680). Data for the π-p →ηnreaction from threshold up to a total center-of-mass energy of W ≈ 2 GeV are satisfactorily reproduced. For the photoproduction channel, two additional higher mass known resonances, P13 (1900) and F15 (2000), are also considered. However, reproducing the data for γ'p →ηP requires, within our approach, two new nucleon resonances, for which we extract mass and width.  相似文献

The inclusive production rate of the ρ±(770) vector meson in hadronic Z decays is measured with the ALEPH detector at the LEP collider. A total of 3.2 million hadronic events are selected from data recorded between 1991 and 1995. Decays of ρ±π0+π± are reconstructed for xE>0.05 and xp>0.05 where xp=pρ/pbeam and xE=Eρ/Ebeam. The average ρ± multiplicity per hadronic event is evaluated to be N(ρ±)=2.59±0.03±0.15±0.04 where the first error is statistical and the second systematic. The third error is from the uncertainty in the extrapolation to xp=xE=0. The rates and differential cross-section are compared with Monte Carlo model predictions and OPAL measurements. Residual Bose–Einstein correlations are found to be an important component in the analysis.  相似文献

Based on the nuclear effects considered in the Glauber-Gribov approach, charmed meson production in high energy deep inelastic e+A scattering is investigated in the color dipole formalism. Using the Peterson fragmentation function and the KLR-AdS/CFT color dipole model, which reasonably well describes the HERA data for the inclusive structure functions at small Bjorken-x, we present the predictive results for the D-meson transverse spectra at EIC and LHeC energies. The theoretical results indicate that the $x$-independence phenomena at very small-x predicted by the KLR-AdS/CFT model are not seen in our calculation.  相似文献

In the two-quark model supposition for the meson a0(1450), which can be viewed as either the first excited state (scenario I) or the lowest lying state (scenario II), the branching ratios and the direct CP-violating asymmetries for decays B→ a0(1450)ρ(ω) are studied by employing the perturbative QCD factorization approach. We find the following results: (a) For the decays B- → a00(1450)ρ- and \bar{B}0 → a+0(1450)ρ-, their branching ratios have large
difference between two scenarios. Although their branching ratios are larger than other considered decay modes, their direct CP-violatingasymmetries in both scenarios are small. (b) For the decays B-→ a-0(1450)ρ0 and \bar{B}0→ a-0(1450)ρ+, a00(1450)ρ0, a00(1450)ω, their branching ratios are close to each other between two scenarios, respectively. (c) Comparing with the decays \bar{B}0 →π0ρ00π0, the decay \bar{B}0→ a00(1450)ρ0 receives a
larger branching ratio in each scenario, which is sensitive to the variation of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa angleα.  相似文献
