Fractal porous media III: Transversal Stokes flow through random and Sierpinski carpets

The transversal Stokes flow of a Newtonian fluid through random and Sierpinski carpets is numerically calculated and the transversal permeability derived. In random carpets derived from site percolation, the average macroscopic permeability varies as (- _c)^3/2, close to the critical porosity _c. This exponent is found to be slightly different from the conductivity exponent. Results for Sierpinski carpets are presented up to the fourth generation. The Carman equation is not verified in these two model porous media.     

Magnetic resonance in amorphous metals based on Fe in the millimeter radiowave range

The research technique of amorphous magnetics is described. The paper gives the experimental data obtained by a multifunctional low-temperature radiospectrometer Buran in the mm radiowave range and presents their analysis.     

Multinuclear magnetic resonance studies on intramolecular chalcogen-tin coordination in compounds of the type Me2Sn(X)CH2CH2P(E)Ph2 (X = Halogen, E = Chalcogen)

Multinuclear magnetic resonance data for the title compounds are presented and discussed. The intramolecular coordination observed in the solid state is shown to be retained in solution. The best probes for the presence or absence of pentacoordination at tin are provided by the various tin-element coupling constants, although chemical shifts are in some cases also informative. A selenium-proton correlated spectrum indicated that the coupling constant ¹J(Sn,Se) has a positive sign.     

Synthesis and magnetic properties of novel polymeric complexes containing bithiazole rings

A novel linear polymer (PFABT) containing bithiazole rings was synthesized by polycondensation of 2,2′‐diamino‐4,4′‐bithiazole (DABT) and formaldehyde. The complexes of PFABT with two transition metal ions (Fe²⁺, Cu²⁺) were prepared for the first time. The polymer was determined through FT‐IR, ¹H‐NMR and elemental analysis (EA), and the complexes were characterized by FT‐IR. The magnetic behaviors of these complexes were measured as a function of magnetic field strength (0–50 kOe) at 4 K and as a function of temperature (4–300 K) under an applied magnetic field of 30 kOe. The results show that PFABT‐Cu²⁺ is a ferromagnet while PFABT‐Fe²⁺ is an anti‐ferromagnet. Copyright © 2007 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.     

磁共振方法研究12-钨磷酸水合物中水分子的运动状态

本文使用以Cu(Ⅱ)为顺磁探针的ESR以及宽谱线~1H-NMR等磁共振方法,研究了12-钨磷酸水合物中水分子的运动状态,结果表明水合水的活动性不仅取决于温度,而且还与12-钨磷酸水合物中的含水量有关。     

Magnetic phase transitions in nanostructures induced by shear stress under high pressure

Magnetic phase transitions of the first and second order were revealed by Mössbauer spectroscopy in nanosystems of - and -ferric oxides and metallic europium subjected to shear stress (240°) under high pressure (20 kbar). For - and -ferric oxide nanoclusters, the Curie (Neel) points decreased to 300 K, whereas for nanostructured europium the Neel point increased from 90 to 100 K. The thermodynamic model of magnetic phase transitions predicting a change in the character of magnetic phase transitions and a decrease (increase) in the critical Neel (Curie) points in nanoclusters was developed. The type of magnetic phase transitions and the change in the critical points were caused by defects in nanoclusters, whose maximum concentration was observed for the clusters with the 20—50 nm size range.     

Synthesis,structure, and magnetic properties of the cobalt(<Emphasis Type="SmallCaps">II</Emphasis>) 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylate layered coordination polymer

The reaction of Co(NO₃)₂·6H₂O with 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylic acid (H₃btc, trimesic acid) in DMF at 100 °C afforded the coordination polymer [Co₃(dmf)₆(btc)(Hbtc)(H₂btc)]··9H₂O (1) (dmf is N,N′-dimethylformamide, DMF). According to the X-ray diffraction study, the metal-organic coordination polymer is composed of planar honeycomb (6,3) networks, in which the organic benzenetricarboxylate anions and the inorganic Co²⁺ cations play a role of three-connected nodes. Disordered water molecules are intercalated between the layers. A study of the magnetic properties showed the presence of a weak antiferromagnetic coupling between the Co²⁺ ions (S = 3/2). Strained Structure in Ho0.5Sr0.5MnO3

The Ho_0.5Sr_0.5MnO₃ perovskite, synthesized in air, has been studied by combining neutron powder and electron diffraction techniques. The Pnma-type structure exhibits a strong tilting of the MnO₆ octahedra. This octahedra tilting and microtwinning involve a complex strained structure. No structural transition is observed down to 1.4 K, but short-range A-type antiferromagnetism running over only a few perovskite subcells is evidenced below ≈90 K. The different behavior of this perovskite compared to other Ln_0.5Sr_0.5MnO₃ perovskites is discussed in terms of A-site cationic mismatch.
