The study of nuclear decay modes reveals a large panel of nuclear structure phenomena and allows us to investigate the behaviour of the atomic nucleus with an extreme imbalance of the number of neutrons and protons with respect to stable nuclei. In the present paper, we review certain aspects of β-delayed decay modes, of one- and two-proton radioactivity, and of the experimental techniques which allowed us to get deep insights into the organisation of the atomic nucleus. In most cases, the study of these decay modes is the only means to obtain the information searched for. The investigation of nuclear decay modes is shown to be a powerful tool to study the most proton-rich nuclei and their nuclear structure. 相似文献

By employing the perturbative QCD (pQCD) factorization approach, we calculate some important next- to-leading-order (NLO) contributions to the two-body charmless hadronic decays B^+ →ρ^+η(') and B^0 → ρ^0(ω, φ)η('), induced by the vertex QCD corrections, the quark-loops as well as the chromo-magnetic penguins. From the numerical results and phenomenological analysis we find that (a) for B^± → ρ^±η(') (B^0 → ρ^0(ω, φ)η(')decays, the partial NLO contributions to branching ratios are small (large) in magnitude; and (b) the pQCD predictions for ACP^dir(B^± → ρ^±η(')) are consistent with the data, while the predicted .ACP(B^0 → ρ^0(ω)η(')) are generally large in magnitude and could be tested by the forthcoming LHCb experiments. 相似文献

Considering the experimental constraints on the free parameters of the 331 model with a leptonic sector consistent of five triplets, we investigate the lepton flavor violation (LFV) tau decays τ→μM with M=P and V, where P and V denote a pseudoscalar meson (π,η or η') and a vector meson (ρ0,ω or φ), respectively. We find that the contributions of the 331 model to the LFV decays τ→μM mainly come from the new neutral gauge boson Z'. The 331 model considered in this paper can not make the values of the branching ratio Br(τ→μM) approach the corresponding experimental upper limits. 相似文献

To explain the anomalously large decay rate of Σ+→p+μ+μ-, it was proposed that a new mechanism where a light CP-odd pseudoscalar boson of mA10=214.3 MeV makes a crucial contribution. Later, some authors have studied the transition π0→ e+e- and r → γA10 in terms of the same mechanism and their result indicates that with the suggested mass one cannot fit the data. This discrepancy might be caused by experimental error of Σ+→ p+μ+μ- because there were only a few events. Whether the mechanism is a reasonable one motivates us to investigate the transitions π0→ e+e-;η(η')→ μ+μ-; ηc→ μ+μ-; ηb→τ+τ- within the same framework. It is noted that for π0→ e+e-, the standard model (SM) prediction is smaller than the data, whereas the experimental central value of η→μ+μ- is also above the SM prediction. It means that there should be extra contributions from other mechanisms and the contribution of A10 may be a possible one. Theoretically calculating the branching ratios of the concerned modes, we would check if we can obtain a universal mass for A10 which reconcile the theoretical predictions and data for all the modes. Unfortunately, we find that it is impossible to have such a mass with the same coupling |gl|. Therefore we conclude that the phenomenology does not favor such a light A10, even though a small window is still open. 相似文献

In this paper, we calculated the new physics contribution to theoretically very clean rare decay
B→Xsνν
in the general two-Higgs-doublet model (model III). Within the considered parameter space, we found that
(a) the new physics contribution can provide one to two orders of enhancement to the branching ratio
B(B→Xsνν) and can saturate the experimental bound
on B(B→Xsνν) in some regions of the parameter space; (b) besides the CLEO data of B→Xsγ, the ALEPH upper
limit on B(B→Xsνν) also leads to further constraint on the size of the Yukawa coupling λtt: λtt< 6.4 for
λbb=2.7 and

For the first time the low-lying J = 1/2 pentaquark states are investigated in the pseudoscalar-vector Skyrme model. Once the conventional baryon properties are fit, other states are predicted without any more adjustable parameters. Furthermore, both symmetry-breaking and decay operators are treated in full. In particular, we focus on the calculations of mass and decay width, and compare them with the experimental data available and relevant theoretical results obtained in other pictures. We recognize that the higher-order contributions, such as the 35 and/or (-35) representation admixtures, are not negligible. Our analysis provides some valuable clues to the physical mechanisms, and the oncoming experimental search and/or confirmation could provide a sharp test of our proposal. 相似文献
