The influence of dissolved propane (up to 31.2 wt %) on the phase equilibria of 5 wt % polystyrene (PS) dissolved in 66/34 wt % trans/cis‐decahydronaphthalene (DHN) was measured over the temperature range of 323–423 K. A suitable temperature, pressure, and propane composition operating space was defined to measure intrinsic viscosities of a single fluid phase. Intrinsic viscosities of PS in cosolvent mixtures of propane and trans/cis‐DHN were measured between 323 and 423 K and between 70 and 208 bar. The addition of propane to the isomeric mixture of DHN resulted in a decreased solvent quality for PS, causing a contraction of the PS coil. The most dramatic decrease in solvent quality with the addition of propane occurred at 323 K and 70 bar with approximately a 36% reduction in the viscometric radius with the addition of 45 mol % propane to DHN. At 423 K, the solvent quality was less sensitive to the addition of propane and only a 13% reduction in the viscometric radius was observed at 70 bar and 45 mol % propane in DHN. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. We investigate the quantum-classical transition of a kicked rotor (KR) under perturbation by a second one. The influence of such a chaotic KR makes decoherence of the first one, resulting in the emergence of classical diffusion from its quantum dynamics. Such quantum-classical transition persists by decreasing the effective Planck's constant h, and at the same time, decreasing the mass of the second KR and the interaction strength proportionally. In the limit of h → 0, due to vanishing small mass and interaction, the second KR has almost no effect on the classieal dynamics of the first one. We use the nonequilibrium Liouville equation to derive the master equation for the reduced statistical operator in a heat
bath represented by a many-particle environment. Focusing on the case of a weak system-bath coupling, we consider the Born-Markov
approximation of the master equation and compare the result to different approaches. The master equation is elaborated for
the special case of an atom as a reduced system in a plasma background. We find that the dynamical structure factor determines
the effect of the plasma on the reduced system. We consider the operator equation in the atomic eigenstate and in the phase-space
representation, which yields two limiting cases: quantum mechanical behavior similar to the isolated atom for the lower strongly
bound levels and a semiclassical one for highly excited Rydberg levels.

We investigate the short-time decoherence of a solid-state qubit under Ohmic noise at optimal operation points. The decoherence is analyzed by maximum norm of the deviation density operator. It is shown that at the temperature T = 3 mK, the loss of the fidelity due to decoherence is much smaller than the DiVincenzo low decoherence criterion, which means that the mode/may be an optimal candidate of qubit for quantum computation. 相似文献

Grasping the historical volatility of stock market indices and accurately estimating are two of the major focuses of those involved in the financial securities industry and derivative instruments pricing. This paper presents the results of employing the intrinsic entropy model as a substitute for estimating the volatility of stock market indices. Diverging from the widely used volatility models that take into account only the elements related to the traded prices, namely the open, high, low, and close prices of a trading day (OHLC), the intrinsic entropy model takes into account the traded volumes during the considered time frame as well. We adjust the intraday intrinsic entropy model that we introduced earlier for exchange-traded securities in order to connect daily OHLC prices with the ratio of the corresponding daily volume to the overall volume traded in the considered period. The intrinsic entropy model conceptualizes this ratio as entropic probability or market credence assigned to the corresponding price level. The intrinsic entropy is computed using historical daily data for traded market indices (S&P 500, Dow 30, NYSE Composite, NASDAQ Composite, Nikkei 225, and Hang Seng Index). We compare the results produced by the intrinsic entropy model with the volatility estimates obtained for the same data sets using widely employed industry volatility estimators. The intrinsic entropy model proves to consistently deliver reliable estimates for various time frames while showing peculiarly high values for the coefficient of variation, with the estimates falling in a significantly lower interval range compared with those provided by the other advanced volatility estimators. 相似文献

In this paper, we study a Hamiltonian system constituted by two coupled two-level atoms (qubits) interacting with a nonlinear generalized cavity field. The nonclassical two-qubit correlation dynamics are investigated using Bures distance entanglement and local quantum Fisher information under the influences of intrinsic decoherence and qubit–qubit interaction. The effects of the superposition of two identical generalized coherent states and the initial coherent field intensity on the generated two-qubit correlations are investigated. Entanglement of sudden death and sudden birth of the Bures distance entanglement as well as the sudden changes in local Fisher information are observed. We show that the robustness, against decoherence, of the generated two-qubit correlations can be controlled by qubit–qubit coupling and the initial coherent cavity states. 相似文献
