A new method is proposed for reconstructing wavefront from discretely sampled interferogram data obtained by a digital lateral shearing interferometer. Assumptions applied in the conventional methods are not used and reconstruction error caused by the difference between the amount of shear and the sampling interval can be removed. We present an ultra compact and high resolution free space optical spectrometer and demonstrate it by using FDTD simulations. The miniature interferometer-based speetrometer is a series of submicron phase objects on a polymethyl methacrylate(PMMA) film with a CCD as the detector. The speetrum is obtained by solving a system of simultaneous linear equations. The Tikhonov regularization method is used to achieve a resolution at the picometer level. Compared with conventional speetrometers, the proposed device is low-cost and easy to fabricate due to its simple structure. Furthermore, its compact feature renders the device ideal for miniaturization and integration as the systems in microfluidics architectures and lab-on-chip designs. 相似文献

We demonstrate a multi-wavelength semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) fiber ring laser with a dual-pass Mach-Zehnder interferometer (MZI) filter. Two SOAs with different gain spectra provide sufficient gain and a wider gain spectrum to facilitate multi-wavelength lasing. The dual-pass MZI, configured by adding an optical isolator to the two outputs of the conventional MZI, serves as comb filter for multi-wavelength operation, and its extinction ratio can be enhanced to twofold as that of the conventional MZI in the same parameters. To investigate the influences of a dual-pass MZI filter and a conventional MZI filter on multi-wavelength operation, two different cavity configurations are presented and compared, including a single-SOA ring cavity and a double-SOA ring cavity. Stable simultaneous operation at 82 wavelengths, with a wavelength spacing of 40 GHz and a power deviation of 5 dB, and with a minimum optical signal-to-noise ratio (OSNR) of 28 dB, is observed from the double-SOA ring cavity using a dual-pass MZI filter. 相似文献

Detailed model, analysis and design technique are presented for simulating a high-speed polymer Mach-Zehnder interferometer (MZI) electro-optic switch with push-pull dual driving electrodes and rib waveguides. The novel formulas of the time-domain response are derived. Thorough optimization and simulation for the designed device are performed. The total length of the basic function unit of the switch is about 5049 μm, the push-pull switching voltage is 2.23 V, the switching time is 18.1 ps, and the insertion loss and crosstalk are less than 2.64 and −30 dB, respectively, within the range of the operation wavelength from 1534 to 1566 nm. This paper reports the use of a pair of multi-cavity Gires-Tournois interferometer (GTI) mirrors in a ring cavity Ytterbium-doped fiber laser for dispersion compensation. The optical spectrum was broadened by 6 nm due to the large negative group delay dispersion introduced by the light undergoing 10 round trips between the GTI mirrors. We present an integrated Silicon-on-Insulator (SOI) based Mach-Zehnder interferometer (MZI) in order to perform ultrafast all-optical XOR logic gate operation with a bit rate of ∼ 0.33 Tb/s. A numerical simulation is carried out in order to study various parameters such as extinction ratio and eye-opening parameters, characterizing the performance of the XOR logic gate. The output XOR logic gate signal can have improved extinction and eye margin if the initial powers of primary signals and the probe continuous-wave (CW), and SOI waveguide length are judiciously adjusted. 相似文献
