Nonnormality and stochastic differential equations

A highly nonnormal Jacobian may give rise to large transients. This behaviour has been shown to have implications for (a) the relevance of linearising a nonlinear system and (b) the timestep restrictions required to keep a numerical method stable. Here, we show that nonnormality also manifests itself for stochastic differential equations. We give an example of a family of systems that is stable without noise, but can be made exponentially unstable in mean-square by a noise perturbation that shrinks to zero as the nonnormality increases. We then show via finite-time convergence theory that an Euler approximation shares the same property, giving a discrete analogue of the result. 双层网格圆底扁球壳的非线性稳定问题

从基于等效夹层壳思想的双层网格扁壳,非线性弯曲理论的变分方程出发,利用坐标变换方法和驻值余能原理,导出双层网格圆底扁球壳,在均布压力作用下的轴对称大挠度方程和边界条件．采用修正迭代法,求得了两类边界条件下双层网格圆底扁球壳的非线性载荷-位移关系式和临界屈曲载荷的解析表达式,并讨论了几何参数对临界屈曲载荷的影响．     

Stability analysis of nonautonomous difference systems with delaying arguments

We present sufficient conditions for the stability of the nonautonomous difference system , k∈Z⁺, with m?1, when the (n×n)-matrices Aj(⋅) are slowly varying coefficients. The proposed approach is based on the generalization of the “freezing” method for ordinary differential equations. The stability conditions are formulated in terms of the corresponding Cauchy's function.

Globalexponential stability of an epidemic model with saturated and periodic incidence rate

This paper is concerned with a SIR model with saturated and periodic incidence rate and saturated treatment function. By using differential inequality technique, we employ a novel argument to show that the disease‐free equilibrium is globally exponentially stable. The obtained results improve and supplement existing ones. We also use numerical simulations to demonstrate our theoretical results. Copyright © 2015 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.     

Problem of determining the nonstationary potential in a hyperbolic-type equation

We solve the problem of determining the hyperbolic equation coefficient depending on two variables. Some additional information is given by the trace of the direct problem solution on the hyperplane x = 0.
