Rate constant ratios k(T)/k(1,500K) for two symmetrical reactions H? + H2 → H2 + H? and H+ + H2 → H2 + H+ are reported. Direct method based on quantum instanton approximation for evaluation of the temperature dependence of the quantum‐mechanical reaction rate constant is used. Implementation of the theory involves thermodynamic integration and path integral Monte Carlo method. Results of anionic case shows resemblance to neutral case, whereas cationic case is significantly different and below 1,000K rate constant shows strong deviation form linearity of Arrhenius plot due to high activation barrier. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In the SU(3) simple group model, the new neutral gauge boson Z' couples to pairs of SM fermions with couplings fixed in terms of the SM gauge couplings and depending only on the choice of the fermion embedding. In this paper, we calculate the contributions of this new particle to the processes e^+e^-→l^+l^-, bb^-, and cc^- and study the possibility of detecting this new particle via these processes in the future high-energy linear e^+e^- collider(LC) experiments with √s= 500 GeV and £int= 340 fb^-1. We find that the new gauge boson Z' is most sensitive to the process e^+e^-→b^+b^-. As long as Mz,≤2 TeV , the absolute values of the relative correction parameter are larger than 5%. We calculate the forward-backward asymmetries and left-right asymmetries for the process e^+e^-→c^+c^-, with both the universal and anomaly-free fermion embeddings. Bounds on Z' masses are also estimated within 95% confidence level. 相似文献

In gravitational thermodynamics, the entropy of a black hole with distinct surface gravities can be evaluated in a microcanonical ensemble. At the WKB level, the entropy becomes the negative of the Euclidean action of the constrained instanton, which is the seed for the black hole creation in the no-boundary universe. Using the Gauss-Bonnet theorem, we prove the quite universal formula in Euclidean quantum gravity that the entropy of a nonrotating black hole is one quarter the sum of the products of the Euler characteristics and the areas of the horizons. For Lovelock gravity, the entropy and quantum creation of a black hole are also studied. 相似文献
