Two quartz crystal microbalances have been mounted in a planar rf discharge system in such a way that the potential of the microbalances with respect to the glow discharge can be varied. This apparatus allows a rapid simulation of the etching directionality that can be expected in real pattern transfer situations in that operating one microbalance at ground and one at a negative potential gives a measure of the sidewall and vertical etch rates, respectively. The voltage threshold for ion-assisted etching has been determined to be 20 V which is the approximate value of the plasma potential in this asymmetric system. 相似文献
Summary In this paper we investigate the potential of alkyl-bonded silica monolithic columns for the isolation and identification
of drug-related components in biological fluids. Up to 6 columns have been connected in series to produce a chromatographic
system with up to 40,000 plates. This high-resolution chromatography system has been coupled to both MS and NMR to enable
efficient detection and characterisation of drug-related components in biological fluids. The use of six coupled columns has
been shown to give enhanced resolution over a high quality silica particulate column packed with 3 μm material which exhibits
the same back pressure. The effect of volume and mass load on the performance of monolithic columns for semi-preparative chromatography
of biological fluids has also been investigated. In these studies it was possible to inject up to 100 mL of neat urine with
no loss of chromatographic performance. Furthermore, upon re-testing, the columns showed similar chromatographic performance.
Again several columns were serially connected, producing enhanced resolution in the semi-preparative mode. 相似文献
Measurements of the major cations Ca and Mg by the technique of diffusive gradients in thin films (DGTs) were systematically evaluated. The concentration in solution was calculated using Fick’s first law of diffusion from the directly measured flux to the DGT device. A selective cation exchange resin (Bio-Rad Chelex®100), which has been used extensively with DGT for trace metals, such as Cd2+, Cu2+ and Ni2+, was used for this work.
Elution of Ca and Mg from the resin with 1 M HNO3 was very reproducible. Measurements of Ca and Mg concentrations in synthetic solutions agreed well with the theoretical predictions. The negative response on uptake caused by lowered pH was investigated. Uptake was found to decline below pH 5. The capacity of the DGT device for Ca and Mg was also investigated to establish maximum deployment times for given concentrations.
Experiments with filtered and modified lake water show that DGT can be used to measure Ca and Mg when trace metals are present in the solution. An in situ deployment of DGT combined with an ultrafiltration study suggest that the Mg concentration measured by DGT is similar to the concentration found in the fraction <1 kDa. 相似文献
Apparent molar heat capacities and volumes of amylamine (PentNH2) 0.02m, capronitrile (PentCN) 0.02m and nitropentane (PentNO2) 0.009m in decyltrimethylammonium bromide (DeTAB) micellar solutions, in water and in octane were measured at 25°C. By assuming that their concentration approaches the standard infinite dilution state, heat capacities and volumes were rationalized by means of previously reported equations following which the distribution constant between the aqueous and the micellar phase and heat capacity and volume of the additives in both phases are simultaneously derived. The present results are compared to those we have previously obtained for pentanol (PentOH). The thermodynamic properties of PentNH2 in water and in micellar phase are substantially identical to those of PentOH but different from those of PentCN and PentNO2 whereas the opposite behavior was observed in their pure liquid state and in octane. The nature of the solvent medium seems to affect the thermodynamic behavior of PentNH2. Also, the study of the apparent molar heat capacities of the amyl compounds investigated here in micellar solutions as a function of surfactant concentration shows evidence of a maximum at about 0.4m DeTAB, which can be attributed to a micellar structural transition. Accordingly, the solubilities of PentCN and PentNO2 as a function of the DeTAB concentration drop in the neighborhood of the concentration where heat capacities display the maximum. 相似文献
In this work, we report on poly(2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate) (PHEMA) hydrogels obtained by a low heat curing reaction. These materials are suitable for in situ preparation and therefore endowed with a potential for several biomedical applications. The novel procedure adopted involves as the first step the synthesis of a soluble oligomeric PHEMA precursor containing polymerizable functions as side substituents. As the second step, the precursor is dissolved in equal amounts of 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA) and water, to form a viscous but still injectable syrup. A low temperature water soluble initiator is then added. The curing reaction starts promptly and is completed within few minutes. During the entire process the internal temperature never rises above 40 degrees C. Preliminary mechanical characterizations performed on the hydrogels in their water-swollen state and diffusion tests in absorption/desorption experiments clearly indicated that on all respects the novel hydrogels are comparable with conventional PHEMA hydrogels obtained according to literature from HEMA in the presence of divinyl crosslinkers. However, the much shorter curing time combined with the far lower curing temperature endow the new hydrogels with a higher potential in view of specific surgical requirements, and particularly for in situ preparation. 相似文献
Eupatilin (5,7-dihydroxy-3',4',6-trimethoxy flavone) is an active ingredient of an ethanol extract of Artemisia asiatica (DA-9601) that is used in the treatment of gastritis. In vitro and in vivo metabolism of eupatilin in the rats has been studied by LC-electrospray mass spectrometry. Rat liver microsomal incubation of eupatilin in the presence of NADPH and UDPGA resulted in the formation of four metabolites (M1-M4). M1, M2, M3 and M4 were tentatively identified as 3'- or 4'-O-demethyl-eupatilin glucuronide, eupatilin glucuronide, 6-O-demethyleupatilin and 3'- or 4'-O-demethyl-eupatilin, respectively. Those metabolites from in vitro study were also characterized in bile, plasma or urine samples after an intravenous administration of eupatilin to rats. In rat bile, plasma and urine samples, eupatilin glucuronide (M2) was a major metabolite, whereas M3, M4 and M4 glucuronide (M1) were the minor metabolites. 相似文献
