Spray flames are known to exhibit amazing features in comparison with single-phase flames. The weightless situation offers the conditions in which the spray characteristics can be well controlled before and during combustion. The article reports on a joint experimental/numerical work that concerns ethanol/air spray flames observed in a spherical chamber using the condensation technique of expansion cooling (based on the Wilson cloud chamber principle), under microgravity.We describe the experimental set-up and give details on the creation of a homogeneous and nearly monosized aerosol. Different optical diagnostics are employed successfully to measure the relevant parameters of two-phase combustion. A classical shadowgraphy system is used to track the flame speed propagation and allow us to observe the flame front instability. The complete characterization of the aerosol is performed with a laser diffraction particle size analyser by measuring the droplet diameter and the droplet density number, just before ignition. A laser tomography device allows us to measure the temporal evolution of the droplet displacement during flame propagation, as well as to identify the presence of droplets in the burnt gases. The numerical modelling is briefly recalled. In particular, spray-flame propagation is schematized by the combustion spread in a 2-D lattice of fuel droplets surrounded by an initial gaseous mixture of fuel vapour and air.In its spherical expansion, the spray flame presents a corrugated front pattern, while the equivalent single-phase flame does not. From a numerical point of view, the same phenomena of wrinkles are also observed in the simulations. The front pattern pointed out by the numerical approach is identified as of Darrieus–Landau (DL) type. The droplets are found to trigger the instability. Then, we quantitatively compare experimental data with numerical predictions on spray-flame speed. The experimental results show that the spray-flame speed is of the same order of magnitude as that of the single-phase premixed flame. On the other hand, the numerical results exhibit the role played by the droplet radius in spray-flame propagation, and retrieve the experiments only when the droplets are small enough and when the Darrieus–Landau instability is triggered. A final discussion is developed to interpret the various patterns experimentally observed for the spray-flame front.  相似文献

针对煤粉燃烧辐射光谱问题,利用光纤光谱仪对煤粉平面火焰炉实验装置煤粉燃烧火焰辐射光谱进行了测量,详细分析了煤粉辐射光谱特征,并基于普朗克辐射传热定律,通过对光谱仪波长响应特性的标定,得到火焰绝对辐射强度随波长的分布情况,进而利用最小二乘法获得火焰温度与辐射率参数,由此提出基于煤粉燃烧火焰辐射光谱测量的火焰参数测量方法。利用该方法对不同燃烧条件下煤粉燃烧参数进行测量,开展了不同燃烧参数下煤粉火焰辐射光谱实验研究,研究结果表明:煤粉燃烧火焰辐射在200~1 100 nm波段具有较强且连续的光谱特征,基于普朗克辐射定律与最小二乘法可实现煤粉燃烧火焰温度与辐射率的测量;煤粉燃烧火焰辐射光谱在590,766,769和779 nm附近可见明显的Na和K等碱金属痕量元素原子光谱发射谱线,并且这些原子谱线的出现与火焰温度有关;随着煤粉浓度的提高,虽然燃烧温度变化不大,但由于火焰辐射率的增加,造成辐射光谱强度的大幅提升。这对锅炉煤粉燃烧优化具有重要参考价值。  相似文献

Acoustic analysis of a liquefied petroleum gas-fired pulse combustor   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Experimental investigation of acoustic characteristics of a Helmholtz type liquefied petroleum gas-fired pulse combustor is presented. In the experiments, the length of the tail pipe was changed from 1.9 m to 1.3 m by 10 cm intervals. Sound level measurements were taken from the exhaust side (outlet) and air flapper side (inlet) at a distance of 1 m from both sides. With decreasing lengths of the tail pipe, the sound pressure level increased. At the measurements related to the exhaust side, the maximum value of equivalent continuous sound pressure level, LEQ was 96.6 dB when the length of the tailpipe and fundamental frequency were 1.3 m and 63 Hz, respectively. Same kinds of measurements were performed at the air flapper side, but the LEQ value was stronger at the exhaust side than the one at the air flapper side. It was also observed that the effect of the type of gaseous fuel on the acoustic efficiency of the pulse combustor can be neglected when the results of the acoustic efficiencies were compared to those in the literature. In order to compare the accuracy of frequencies measured by the sound level meter, a suitable dynamic pressure transducer and a spectrum analyzer were used to perform amplitude and frequency measurements. The average deviation between the measurements performed by the sound level meter and dynamic pressure transducer was 2.4 Hz (3.8% errors) while the average deviation was 3.8 Hz (6% errors) between the sound level meter and spectrum analyzer.  相似文献

制备了系列甲烷化学链燃烧用CeO2/Co3O4复合氧载体,采用XRD、H2-TPR、甲烷程序升温和恒温反应对氧载体进行了表征与评价。研究了不同CeO2的负载量对复合氧载体的结构、氧化还原性、产物选择性的影响。结果表明,氧化铈的添加不仅降低了氧载体的初始反应温度,还延长了有效反应时间,但铈添加量过高会降低产物CO2选择性,使甲烷向部分氧化进行。CeO2(30%)/Co3O4氧载体在650 ℃经20次循环后甲烷转化率和CO2选择性均未明显降低,表现出较高的活性和化学链循环稳定性。  相似文献

In an experimental study the effects of varied oxygen concentrations in the oxidizer gas on resulting flow fields, combustion products and general behavior of pulverized coal swirl flames under oxy-fuel conditions have been investigated. Experiments were carried out in a small scale down-fired cylindrical combustion chamber equipped with an annular swirl burner. Studied flames had a constant power output of 40 kWth and O2/CO2 oxidizer gas mixtures with O2 concentrations ranging from 23 to 33 vol%. Detailed two-dimensional flow field measurements are obtained from laser Doppler anemometry (LDA). Velocity profiles (Mean and RMS) have been obtained for all conditions investigated and serve as basis for identification of flow field characteristics. Velocity RMS values are provided as supplementary material. To complement flow field measurements, in-flame gas composition measurements were also conducted using a sampling probe combined with infrared gas absorption analysis via Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectrometry. The results obtained show increased velocities, particularly along the main vortex for flames with increased oxygen contents, while lower velocities are found to occur inside the recirculation regions. The opposite occurs with lower O2 concentrations, showing significantly reduced velocities in the main vortex, but stronger recirculation than the high oxygen counterparts. This effect is attributed to a modification of the swirl level introduced by the expansion of product gases. Measured NO and CO in-flame concentrations showed significant variations under different O2 concentrations in the oxidizer.  相似文献

利用高速纹影摄像等技术探讨了密闭管道内不同当量比的甲烷/空气预混气体火焰的传播特征。结果表明,当甲烷含量接近当量值时,预混气体火焰传播中会发生火焰阵面由向未燃区弯曲到向已燃区弯曲的转折过程,逐渐由层流燃烧转变成湍流燃烧,并形成Tulip火焰结构;当甲烷含量偏离当量值一定程度时,预混火焰呈现出典型的层流燃烧特征,不会发生火焰阵面由向未燃区弯曲到向已燃区弯曲的转折过程。Tulip火焰结构形成于火焰传播速度迅速降低的区间里,且只有当减速阶段的最大加速度的绝对值大于某一数值时才能形成;Tulip火焰结构是预混火焰由层流燃烧向湍流燃烧转变的一个中间过程。  相似文献

The structure of monomeric and dimeric molecules of scandium tribromide is studied by the synchronous electron diffraction and mass spectrometric experiment at T = 888(10) K and also by the quantum chemical calculations. The experimental data on the structural parameters of ScBr3 molecule were obtained for the first time; also for the first time the molecular structure of Sc2Br6 dimeric molecule was studied. It is found that the ScBr3 molecule has the C 3v effective configuration with the distance r g (Sc-Br) = 2.430(3) Å and the valence angle ∠g(Br-Sc-Br) = 117.6(5)°. The equilibrium structure of the given molecule is planar with D 3h symmetry. According to a theoretical study by DFT and MP2 methods, Sc2Br6 molecule has the equilibrium structure of D 2h symmetry with four Sc-Br bridge bonds. It was confirmed by the results of the electron diffraction analysis.  相似文献
