In order to increase the understanding of soft tissues mechanical properties, 3D Digital Holographic Interferometry (3D-DHI) was used to quantify the strain-field on a cat tympanic membrane (TM) surface. The experiments were carried out applying a constant sound-stimuli pressure of 90 dB SPL (0.632 Pa) on the TM at 1.2 kHz. The technique allows the accurate acquisition of the micro-displacement data along the x, y and z directions, which is a must for a full characterization of the tissue mechanical behavior under load, and for the calculation of the strain-field in situ. The displacements repeatability in z direction shows a standard deviation of 0.062 µm at 95% confidence level. In order to realize the full 3D characterization correctly the contour of the TM surface was measured employing the optically non-contact two-illumination positions contouring method. The x, y and z displacements combined with the TM contour data allow the evaluation its strain-field by spatially differentiating the u(m,n), v(m,n), and w(m,n) deformation components. The accurate and correct determination of the TM strain-field leads to describing its elasticity, which is an important parameter needed to improve ear biomechanics studies, audition processes and TM mobility in both experimental measurements and theoretical analysis of ear functionality and its modeling. 相似文献

Description of the response of a fiber optic velocity sensor applied to capillary gas chromatography
This paper explores the response of a novel fiber optics sensor allowing real-time determination of the migration rate of vapor zones in capillary gas chromatography. The sensitivity is related to the gradient of the vapor zone distribution in the capillary and it is highest when vapor zones show steep variations in concentration. The expected linearity between the height of the velocity peaks and the response of a thermal conductivity detector is demonstrated experimentally. The sensor can be used to infer an approximate value of the analyte diffusion coefficient from the time response. Finally, the time evolution of the envelope of the optical signal is explained with experimental evidences. 相似文献

White light interferometer can be used to measure the amplitude extinction ratio (ER) of polarizer and coupling distribution in fiber. A LiNbO3 polarizer coupled with a polarization maintaining fiber and a silica planar waveguide at the two ends was measured using white light interferometer. According to the principles of optical coherence domain polarimeter (OCDP) technique, the test scheme is analyzed and presented to measure the ER of LiNbO3 polarizer with its apparatus proposed correspondingly. By analyzing the interference intensity, both the ER of LiNbO3 polarizer and its coupling crosstalk with optical fiber and waveguide are obtained. The results illustrate that the ER of a 5 mm-long LiNbO3 polarizer is 71 dB and the crosstalk of the coupling points are around 40 dB. The results have good agreement with analysis. 相似文献

提出一种应用机器视觉技术的激光干涉法, 可以研究压电材料的逆压电系数. 在传统干涉测量法中引入机器视觉实现干涉图像灰度最佳估计, 使用数字图像处理技术, 一方面应用降噪算法有效去除激光干涉图样中的噪声, 从而确定激光干涉场的光强分布, 另一方面将干涉图样的明暗变化进一步转化为可量度的灰度变化以提高测量分辨力. 通过合理设计算法, 该方法中对位移的理论测量分辨力可以提高达一个数量级, 为干涉光波长的1/1024, 因此在逆压电系数d31 的实验测量中可以有效提高分辨力.

A modified arrangement of the adaptive optical retinal imaging system that we described previously is proposed to reduce the intensity loss in the system, so that it works properly even when the intensity of light incident on the eye is very weak. Experiments to verify the system performance were conducted using a conventional artificial eye with a specular reflector as a model retina. We observed that an image of a test target (mimicking a retina) blurred by an aberration plate (mimicking the ocular aberrations) was successfully restored in the adaptive optics fashion even when the intensity of the incident light probing the aberration of the eye became about 1.5% of that required in the previous system. Effect of a more realistic artificial eye with a scattering object as a model retina was also examined experimentally. We found that not only the ocular aberrations, but also the retinal scattering cause the wave-front deformations and that our adaptive optics system compensates for both of them simultaneously. 相似文献

In this paper, the time sequence phase method (TSPM) has been applied to measure the displacement caused by low-frequency vibration in temporal speckle pattern interferometry (TSPI). The principle is that by capturing the temporal speckle patterns related to the object vibration, the whole-field displacement responses (amplitude and phase) of the vibrating object can be calculated through scanning these fluctuations. Thus, quantitative measurement can be carried out using a conventional ESPI system without a camera synchronized to the object vibration or a phase shifting system.
