A study of time over threshold (TOT) technique for plastic scintillator counter

A new charge measurement method, time over threshold (TOT), has been used in some gas detectors lately. Here TOT is studied for TOF system, made of plastic scintillator counter, which can simplify the electronics of the system. The signal characteristics are measured and analyzed with a high quality oscilloscope, including noise, pedestal, signal amplitude, total charge, rise time and the correlation between them. The TOT and charge are related and can be fitted by some empirical formula. The charge measurement resolution by TOT is given and this will help the design of TOF electronics.     

Index for vehicle acoustical comfort inside a passenger car

Sound quality is among the main factors that influence customers’ preference for choosing good automobile products. It all started more than 10 years ago and grows up so fast due to high competition in the automotive industries. A-weighted noise levels and sound power are usually utilised to measure the noise but they are not adequate to characterise the impact sound inside a car. The most popular approach to determine sound quality of a product is to define an annoyance or specific index, which involves both subjective and objective evaluations. Subjective and objective tests should be studied concurrently in order to determine the sound quality inside a passenger car. This approach is used in this paper to evaluate vehicle comfort index according to most frequently used sound quality metrics, namely; Zwicker loudness, sharpness, roughness and fluctuation strength. As a result researchers of different fields of automotive acoustics investigations can use this index according to the type of road (international road roughness) without any need to perform time-consuming jury tests. The metrics are correlated with jury test results that show which of them and how much has affected the acoustical comfort of the vehicle. The relation between road roughness and vehicle acoustical comfort index is another point of interest in this research.     

螺旋管内高压汽水两相流动沸腾干涸点的研究

在较宽的实验参数范围内(系统压力P=8～15 MPa,质量流速G=800～1800 kg·m~(-2)·s~(-1),壁面热流密度q_w=200～950 kW·m~(-2))对一立式螺旋管内(管内径为10 mm,螺旋直径为300 mm,节距为50 mm)汽水两相流动沸腾干涸特性进行了实验研究。通过研究,获得了干涸发生时螺旋管圈壁温的分布特征以及压力、质量流速和壁面热流密度这三个参数对临界干度的影响规律。同时在实验数据的基础上,提出了一个适用于计算螺旋管内高压高含汽率工况下汽水两相流临界干度的经验关系式。     

The optical properties of the laser beam passed through a turbulent shear layer

The related fluid dynamic theory, experimental device and some preliminary results of the study of the optical properties of a laser beam passed through a turbulent shear layer are presented. The method of image processing for the determination of the optical density from a interferogram by means of a Microneye Bullet and a Microcomputer is also described.     

Lubricated squeezing flow of a Newtonian liquid between elastic and rigid plates

Theoretical force-time relationships were derived for squeezing flow of a Newtonian liquid between lubricated rigid and elastic plates. It is shown how the elastic number, representing the ratio between the elastic plate's rigidity and the specimen's viscosity, affects the force-time curve and under what circumstances the fluid specimen's thickness becomes a significant factor. Potential implications of the analysis in oral sensory evaluations of viscous foods are also considered.

本文采用稳健统计分析技术,对水泥品质指标比对检验质检机构的质检水平进行了能力验证,结合散点图和柱状图,综合评价了各实验室的检测能力。
