Behavior of the effective fields for a regular ising model on the Cayley tree

A regular Ising model with nearest-neighbor interactions ofJ and–J(J>0) on a Cayley tree of coordination number 3 is investigated for the behavior of effective fields in a uniform external field. The effective fields show periodic and also aperiodic structures in the temperature-field plane. At absolute zero temperature, the equations determining effective fields are reduced to a nonlinear, one-dimensional, iterative equation. Arithmetic furcations of period and a screening of the furcations are observed.     

Determination of a Solid Phase Mass Transfer Coefficient for Modeling an Adsorption Bed System Using Ammonium Molybdophosphate-Polyacrylonitrile (AMP-PAN) as a Sorbent for the Removal of 137Cs from Acidic Nuclear Waste Solutions

Ammonium molybdophosphate (AMP) immobilized on a polyacrylonitrile (PAN) support is an engineered form of cesium selective sorbent material developed at the Czech Technical University in Prague. This material is being investigated as a sorbent for removing ¹³⁷Cs from Idaho National Engineering and Environmental Laboratory (INEEL) acidic sodium bearing waste (SBW) solution. As part of this study, a computer program to solve the partial differential equations (PDE's) for continuity and rate of exchange in a fixed bed system has been developed using numerical finite difference algorithms. These equations are solved iteratively in order to derive a mass transfer coefficient that agrees with the results of bench scale column experiments. This mass transfer coefficient is then applied in the PDE solutions to predict breakthrough behavior in a semi-scale column experiment. The model provided excellent agreement with the semi-scale data with a mass transfer coefficient of 0.0126 min^–1.     

固定投资回报型合同节水管理项目收益分配模型

合同节水管理(WSMC)是一种用节约的水费支付改造成本并获取收益的节水模式,主要涉及用户与节水服务公司两个参与方。本文研究用户无法观测节水服务公司行动条件下固定投资回报型WSMC中的收益分配问题,该模式优先偿还投资,其次分享收益的特征需要激励机制诱使节水服务公司增加节水收益。首先,选取改造成本和节水量作为激励因素,设计用户对节水服务公司的激励合同,并构建节水量产出函数。其次,以用户的期望效用最大化为目标,建立用户对节水服务公司的激励模型并采用逆推法求解模型。再次,对均衡结果进行分析,结果表明:节水服务公司的最优成本分享比例和最优节水量分享比例与风险规避程度、努力成本系数和项目不确定性负相关;此外,最优节水量分享比例与综合能力正相关。最后,通过数值分析探讨分享比例和努力程度随合同参数的变化情况。     

A quasistatic contact problem with slip‐dependent coefficient of friction

We consider a mathematical model which describes the bilateral quasistatic contact of a viscoelastic body with a rigid obstacle. The contact is modelled with a modified version of Coulomb's law of dry friction and, moreover, the coefficient of friction is assumed to depend either on the total slip or on the current slip. In the first case, the problem depends upon contact history. We present the classical formulations of the problems, the variational formulations and establish the existence and uniqueness of a weak solution to each of them, when the coefficient of friction is sufficiently small. The proofs are based on classical results for elliptic variational inequalities and fixed point arguments. We also study the dependence of the solutions on the perturbations of the friction coefficient and obtain a uniform convergence result. Copyright © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.     

Geometry optimization of molecular structures in solution by the polarizable continuum model

A new implementation of analytical gradients for the polarizable continuum model is presented, which allows Hartree-Fock and density functional calculations taking into account both electrostatic and nonelectrostatic contributions to energies and gradients for closed and open shell systems. Simplified procedures neglecting the derivatives of the cavity surface and/or using single spheres for XH_n groups have also been implemented and tested. The solvent-induced geometry relaxation has been studied for a number of representative systems in order to test the efficiency of the procedure and to investigate the role of different contributions. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. On Stability of $L$-Fuzzy Mappings with Related Fixed Point Results

In this paper, a general idea of Presic type $L$-fuzzy fixed point results using some weakly contractive conditions in the setting of metric space is initiated. Stability of $L$-fuzzy mappings and associated new concepts are proposed herein to complement their corresponding notions related to crisp multi-valued and single-valued mappings. Illustrative nontrivial examples are provided to support the assertions of our main results.
