Tandem mass spectrometry is used to monitor the contamination of banknotes by cocaine. By introducing a series of banknotes into an instrument a distribution of contamination can be obtained. The distribution of samples arising from defendants where the banknotes have been in close proximity to cocaine should differ from the distribution from the general background population. Peak picking and integration is used to produce a series of intensity readings for a batch of banknotes. By visually inspecting these distribution, and applying a variety of chemometric methods (principal components analysis, cluster analysis and class modelling via Mahalanobis distance) it is possible to discriminate effectively between the two classes of distribution (7157 background notes and 4826 case notes alleged to be from drug dealers). By calculating the Mahalonobis distance over 100 bootstrap iterations, background samples were correctly classified 96.48% of the time, while case samples were correctly classified 89.37% of the time. 相似文献

A structural feature of hydrogen bonding chains found in the crystals of trifluoromethylated amino alcohols is reported. Hydrogen bondings of 3-(N,N-dialkylamino)-1,1,1-trifluoro-2-propanols construct chiral spiral hydrogen bonding chains. Lone pairs on the nitrogen atoms of the amino alcohols participate in two hydrogen bondings. Detailed structural analysis of the hydrogen bonds of the 3-(N,N-dimethylamino)-1,1,1-trifluoro-2-propanol suggested that the chain built up with alternating intermolecular-medium and intramolecular-weak hydrogen bonds. The medium intermolecular hydrogen bond, which transfers a proton from the hydroxy group to the amino nitrogen, would make a tentative zwitterionic form of the molecule. Then, electrostatic attraction between the charges in the zwitterion centers induced a weak intramolecular hydrogen bond. 相似文献

We present results from a computational study of 4-[4-(dimethylamino)-phenylazo] benzene boronic acid (DABBA) (the 4'-boronic acid isomer of the aminoazobenzene dye N,N-dimethylaminoazobenzene) and its associated anion, as well as, several cyclic esters formed from these azoborates and various conformers of D-glucose. Azo dyes that also contain one or more boronic acid functional groups are of practical importance in the development of chemical sensors for saccharide recognition because of their ability to induce a visible color change upon binding. The lowest-energy DABBA:D-glucose esters found in this investigation consistently involved at least one of the exocyclic hydroxymethyl groups on the D-glucose moiety rather than vicinal cis or trans diol arrangements of hydroxyl groups on the ring. 相似文献

A barium-containing crown ether bridged chiral heterotrinuclear salen Zn(II) complex BaZn2L(ClO4)2, where L is a folded dinuclear chiral (R,R)-salen ligand, has been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, 1H NMR, UV-vis, IR, circular dichroism (CD) spectra, and mass spectra. As a folded dinuclear chiral host, its recognition with achiral guests (imidazole derivatives), rigid bidentate guest (1,4-diazobicyclo[2,2,2]octane, DABCO) and chiral guests (amino acid methyl esters) was investigated by means of UV-vis spectrophotometric titration, CD spectra. The association constants of D-amino acid methyl esters are found to be higher than those of their L-enantiomer. The sandwich-type binding of BaZn2L(ClO4)2-DABCO supramolecular assembly was specially studied via 1H NMR titration and 1H ROESY. To understand the recognition on molecular level, density functional theory (DFT) calculations on B3LYP/LanL2DZ were performed on the minimal energy conformations of host, guests, and host-guest complexes. The minimal energy conformations were obtained by molecular mechanics (MM) optimization and molecular dynamics (MD) simulation. The results of single point energy, HOMO energy, and charges transfer were analyzed. The results of theoretical calculations are in good agreement with the experimental data. 相似文献

An amperometric artemisinin (ARN) sensor based on the supramolecular recognition of glycosylated metalloporphyrin, which is included in the Au-nanoparticles-chitosan film coated on the glass carbon electrodes, was developed. For the improvement of the selectivity of artemisinin detection, 5,10,15,20-tetrakis[2-(2,3,4,6-tetraacetyl-β-d-glucopyranosyl)-1-O-phenyl]porphyrin (T(o-glu)PPH) metal complex [FeT(o-glu)PPCl] was synthesized and employed as a ARN-sensitive and -selective material in the amperometric sensors. The proposed [FeT(o-glu)PPCl]/Au-nanoparticles modified electrodes showed excellent selectivity and sensitivity toward ARN with respect to a number of interferents and exhibited stable current response, which can be attributed to the coordination of ARN with the [FeT(o-glu)PPCl] in the electrodes. The calibration graph obtained with the proposed sensor was linear over the range of 1.8 × 10−7-1.7 × 10−9 mol l−1, with a detection limit of 1.7 × 10−9 mol l−1 for ARN. Significant advantages of the proposed procedure over the conventional reductive electrochemical methods are the selective detection and the relatively low applied potential requirement of the ARN-sensor. Enantiomeric separation of six antihistamine agents was first systematically investigated on a cellulose-based chiral stationary phase (CSP), that is, cellulose tris-(3,5-dimethyl phenyl carbamate) (Chiralcel OD-RH), under the reversed-phase mode. Orphenadrine, meclizine, terfenadine, dioxopromethazine, and carbinoxamine enantiomers were completely separated under the optimized mobile phase conditions with resolutions of 5.02, 1.93, 1.68, 1.67, and 1.54, respectively. Mequitazine was partially separated with a resolution of 0.77. The influences of type and concentration of buffer salt, the pH of buffer solution, and the type and ratio of organic modifier on the chiral separation were evaluated and optimized. For a better insight into the enantiorecognition mechanisms, molecular docking was carried out via the Autodock software. The lowest binding energy and the optimal conformations of the analytes/CSP complexes were supplied, and the mechanisms of chiral recognition were determined. According to the results, the key interactions for the chiral recognition of these six analytes on CDMPC were π–π interactions, hydrophobic interactions, hydrogen bond interactions, and some special interactions. 相似文献

Abstract The chemical modified β-cyclodextrin(CD), which bears a fluorophore group — N,N-dimethylamino-chalcone (DMAC), was synthesized. The self-inclusion behavior of this compound in aqueous solution and in alcohol/water mixed solvents was investigated in detail, and compared with the inclusion system of non-modified CD with free DMAC molecule. The results showed that a deep self-inclusion complex was formed for this compound in aqueous solution and had the ability to recognize different organic molecules by two fully different modes: “in-out” and “co-inclusion” mechanisms. The inclusion behavior of these systems in various ratio of alcohol/water mixture as solvents was investigated. The results indicated that the self-inclusion complex has a higher stability in alcohol/water mixed solvents than that in the case of non-modified CD. The chalcone group appended at β-CD enabled the host as a sensitive probe to study the inclusion behavior of CD. 相似文献

The use of modified Job plot methodology provides a quick and easy means for evaluating host–guest stoichiometry and requires less material than the original method. In this short paper, the results of a recent anion recognition study using thiourea-functionalised norbornanes and [n]polynorbornanes are presented. A significant difference between the plots constructed using the original and modified method was observed and, as such, caution is advised when the modified Job's method is solely used for the determination of host–guest stoichiometry. 相似文献

A novel approach to locate, identify and refine positions and whole areas of cell structures based on elemental contents measured by X‐ray fluorescence microscopy is introduced. It is shown that, by initializing with only a handful of prototypical cell regions, this approach can obtain consistent identification of whole cells, even when cells are overlapping, without training by explicit annotation. It is robust both to different measurements on the same sample and to different initializations. This effort provides a versatile framework to identify targeted cellular structures from datasets too complex for manual analysis, like most X‐ray fluorescence microscopy data.
