The temperature and pressure dependences of 35Cl nuclear quadrupole resonance (NQR) frequency and spin–lattice relaxation time (T1) were investigated for 1‐chloro‐2,4‐dinitrobenzene and 1,2‐dichloro‐3‐nitrobenzene. T1 was measured in the temperature range 77–300 K. Furthermore, the NQR frequency (ν) and T1 for these compounds were measured as a function of pressure up to 5.1 kbar at 300 K. Relaxation was found to be due to the torsional motion of the molecule and the reorientation motion of the nitro group. By analysing the temperature dependence of T1, the activation energy for the reorientation motion of the nitro group was obtained. The temperature dependence of the average torsional lifetimes of the molecules and the transition probabilities W1 and W2 for the Δm = ±1 and Δm = ±2 transitions, were also obtained. Both compounds showed a non‐linear variation of NQR frequency with pressure. The pressure coefficients were observed to be positive. A thermodynamic analysis of the data was carried out to determine the constant‐volume temperature coefficients of the NQR frequency. The spin–lattice relaxation time T1 for both the compounds was found to be weakly dependent on pressure, showing that the relaxation is mainly due to the torsional motions. A novel method via a semibatch process in the absence of surfactant has been adopted to prepare pH- and temperature-sensitive nanogels. The shape, charge distribution, temperature, and pH-induced volume phase transition behavior of the latexes were investigated by scanning electronic microscopy, zeta potentials, dynamic laser light scattering, and UV/vis spectroscopy. It was found that, in the absence of surfactant, with increasing the amount of AAc from 5 to 20 mol% of N-isopropylacrylamide (NIPAM), the hydrodynamic diameters (DH) decrease from 230 to 60 nm. With increasing pH value from 3 to 11, the DH values increase slightly, which is different than the dramatic increase seen when using a conventional batch method with a range from 680 to 1700 nm. However, at pH 3, the turbidity curves of these kinds of particles increase dramatically at temperatures between 33 and 37 °C, while remaining constant at first and then increasing directly at pH 11. Furthermore, the distribution of carboxylic groups located not only on the interior but also on the exterior of colloidal particles as a result of adoption of the semibatch method, other than simple surface distribution of poly(NIPAM-co-AAc) latexes via the batch method. 相似文献

Living cationic polymerization of 2‐adamantyl vinyl ether (2‐vinyloxytricyclo[3.3.1.1]3,7decane; 2‐AdVE) was achieved with the CH3CH(OiBu)OCOCH3/ethylaluminum sesquichloride/ethyl acetate [CH3CH(OiBu)OCOCH3/Et1.5AlCl1.5/CH3COOEt] initiating system in toluene at 0 °C. The number‐average molecular weights (Mn's) of the obtained poly(2‐AdVE)s increased in direct proportion to monomer conversion and produced the polymers with narrow molecular weight distributions (MWDs) (Mw/Mn = ~1.1). When a second monomer feed was added to the almost polymerized reaction mixture, the added monomer was completely consumed and the Mn's of the polymers showed a direct increase against conversion of the added monomer. Block and statistical copolymerization of 2‐AdVE with n‐butyl vinyl ether (CH2?CH? O? CH2 CH2CH2CH3; NBVE) were possible via living process based on the same initiating system to give the corresponding copolymers with narrow MWDs. Grass transition temperature (Tg) and thermal decomposition temperature (Td) of the poly(2‐AdVE) (e.g., Mn = 22,000, Mw/Mn = 1.17) were 178 and 323 °C, respectively. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A systematic study of the biomethylation of selenium and the determination of the methylated species indicates preliminarily that selenium is susceptible to natural biomethylation under certain environmental conditions. Detectable levels of methylated selenium species, including dimethyl selenide [(CH3)2Se], dimethyl diselenide [(CH3)2Se2] and dimethylselenone [(CH3)2SeO2] have been detected by gas chromatography – graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrophotometry (GC – GF AA) from a variety of environmental samples. Findings of naturally methylated selenium species from both soil samples and related air samples suggest that there may exist a localized cycle of selenium between ground soil and the ambient air. Factors that influence the sensitivity and accuracy for the determination of alkyl selenide compounds by GC – GF AA have also been investigated. Flashlike injection mode and addition of about 10% of hydrogen gas to the argon carrier gas provide for highly sensitive detection. Reproducible determination can be obtained with a precision of about 6% and the detection limits are 0.3 ng Se m?3. 相似文献

Equations are set up for describing, in a correct statement and with an accuracy sufficient in actual practice, the shear buckling modes (BMs) of cylindrical sandwich shells with a transversely soft core of arbitrary thickness. Based on them, solutions are obtained to a number of problems on the buckling instability according to shear modes under some force and thermal loadings. It is found that the BMs occur in the shell along the circumferential and axial directions if, in the precritical state, a normal compressive stress arises in the transverse direction. It is shown that this condition is fulfilled in the following cases: in axial tension of the shell with unequal forces applied to the end faces of bearing layers (the parameter of critical load is maximum if the tensile forces are equal); under external (internal) pressure; on cooling the outer and heating the inner layers. In resonance-enhanced laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy, the sample was ablated by a laser pulse and the expanding plume was photoresonantly rekindled by a dye laser pulse. By sampling aluminum alloys for Mg, Pb, Si, and Cu, we showed that for the ablation step, Gaussian beams gave 2 to 3× better signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) than non-uniform beams. For the rekindling step, if no further sample destruction was allowed, dye laser pulses that intercepted the plume transversely gave 6 to 12× higher SNR than the longitudinal case. By combining Gaussian beams and transverse rekindling, the mass limit-of-detection for Mg was about 100 amol while non-resonant analysis was 10× more destructive. Sub-monolayer of oxides grown on laser-cleaned aluminum surfaces was detected by monitoring the AlO emissions of rekindled plumes; without resonant enhancements, they were not detectable no matter how destructive was the analysis. Time resolved studies showed that the Gaussian beam produced less dispersed plumes and that a stronger dye laser beam directed transversely heated up a bigger plume mass without over-heating the plume core. Novel CdClOH sub‐nanocone crystals were successfully synthesized on a large scale by a facile solution‐based method using polymers as crystal growth modifiers. The crystals showed cone‐like morphology. Some factors affecting the morphology and size of the product, such as reaction temperature, concentrations of polyacrylamide (PAM), and pH value of the solution, were systematically studied. Experiments implied that polymer PAM played a key role in the formation of CdClOH sub‐nanocones. A possible formation mechanism of CdClOH sub‐nanocones was suggested based on nucleation‐etching process‐recrystallization in a mild aqueous solution. Furthermore, the as‐prepared CdClOH sub‐nanocones could be further transformed into CdS hollow sub‐nanocones by an anion‐exchange reaction. 相似文献
